Another little guide on EAH books, but this time about all the non-fairytale relatives (so siblings/cousins etc) the characters have in the books. Many of them are tied either to the characters' developement, the lore or the worldbuilding:
I have left out the Charming Siblings, because their family tree is canonically the largest and they deserve a dedicated post.
Raven: Everyone knows this, but repetita iuvant- In the books her father is the Good King. His paternity towards Snow White is left ambiguous, but he remains a fundamental character since it is thanks to him that Raven grew up good.
Briar: She has EIGHT brothers, all of whom have particularly impetuous personalities and for whom she is solely responsible, since her mother is disabled. This is where her skill with children comes from. Her father is also important, as it is from him that she inherited her adrenaline-fueled nature.
Cedar: Besides Pinocchio, Cedar lives with Geppetto, who is her grandfather. Geppetto is very important because he is the one who built the mirror that holds the Evil Queen prison.
Cerise: IN THE SECOND BOOK WE MEET THE GRANDMOTHER! She is currently the head of the Hood village, and is affiliated with the Werewolf boss. They are less enemies than they seem.
Ashlynn: Her aunt Step lives with her and her parents in the palace. She is one of Cinderella's sisters, and yes, she will be Ash's future stepmom. This confirms my theory about cyclical roles.
Hunter: Besides his father and mother, we find out he has A LITTLE SISTER! Her name is Fern and she is waaaay younger than him, around 5 years old. He takes care of her,so It's likely the reason Hunter is so kind.
Duchess: Duchess was raised by her Grandmother! It's never stated, but she's clearly her father's mother, especially since the plot of Swan Lake begins with the Queen Mother asking the Prince to find a wife, so it makes sense that she would take care of her granddaughter.
Sparrow: He has an aunt, Heather, and she's Robin's sister. It's her fault for Sparrow being...him, because she's also a punk. She wears a nose ring and works for a Vanity Fair-like magazine, and she dresses the Merry Men. -> side note: If you know anything about fashion, you'll notice that Heather could be a reference to Vivienne Westwood, the english fashion designer, who at the time dressed the punk band "Sex Pistols"... Does this make Sparrow the Sid Viscious of EAH?!
Apple, Lizzie,O'Hair Twins: We meet the fathers of all three, they are useless.
