synopsis: how he reacts when you ask the chat to watch him for you.
warnings: the haitanis are kinda short
note/s: i’m back on my writing shit… i think, anw, please enjoy these short drabbles while i force away the rust in my writing, glad to be back 🩷 (i also plan to write a wbk version of this so heads up for that one!)
mikey:
“can you babysit my boyfriend for me?” you say to your camera as you propped it up in front of your boyfriend who paused midchew.
“babysit?” mikey asked, mouth filled with dorayaki, his dark eyes looked like a confused puppy as he looked at you, who walked away without giving him a response.
mikey swallows the sweet treat before he stares back at the camera with a confused expression. he mentally counts the seconds being recorded, confusion still etched onto his face before he brushes away the blonde strands that were framing his face.
“wanna see a cool trick?” mikey asks no one in particular before he grins and picks up the phone and props it onto a higher place.
“okay so… this is called a high kick.” mikey says as he demonstrates it, flashing a grin to the camera. the next few minutes were spent with him showing the camera all the kicks and moves he knows from the dojo.
“and finally… this is my special nuclear kick, as kazutora would like to call it– wait! let’s get a better view.” he says before he lowers the camera. “there.”
“in three… two… one…—oh oops!”
your boyfriend accidentally kicked the camera off the table.
the impact caused the tempered glass to shatter and the noise caused you to run back inside.
“what happened?!” you asked as you assessed the situation, mikey only gave you a sheepish yet guilty smile. “they couldn’t handle me…”
commenter: it started well until he knocked me tf out ⅖ will not babysit again, the kicks were cool tho.
commenter: bro struggled with placing us on a higher place but he’s a cutie patootie so i’ll give him that.
chifuyu:
“i’m gonna take a walk, watch my boyfriend for me.” you say to the camera before placing it in front of chifuyu who was combing peke j’s fur.
“baby? where are you—” “i’ll see you in a bit, baby! be nice.” you cut him off, closing the door shut.
“uh…” chifuyu didn’t know what to do. is this a new tiktok trend? are you messing with him? is the camera even— yep, it was recording.
“hi so uh.” chifuyu coughs. “my name is chifuyu, i’m (y/n)’s boyfriend.” he awkwardly introduces himself, green eyes fluttering back to the front door, silently hoping for you to walk back in.
after a few seconds and no sign of you, he refocuses back to the camera and raises peke j in view. “this is my cat.”
“his name is peke j.” he grabs one of peke j’s paws and waved it to the camera, making a small meowing sound as he does so. “he’s saying hi too!” chifuyu grins before he laughs at his cringe.
“what the hell am i even doing.” he says before petting peke j’s head and running over his scar. an idea suddenly coming to his head.
“so… my mom didn’t want peke j at first. i had to hide him in my hoodie when i was 12 just so i could keep him…”
you came back to chifuyu talking animatedly to the camera, a big smile on his face as he pets his cat.
“oh, baby! you’re here.” chifuyu notices you immediately before he pats the space beside him. “i was just telling them how peke j was the reason how you and i met!”
the two of you talked to the camera until your phone notified that there was no more storage. you should really clean up your gallery, stop procrastinating.
commenter: HE’S SO ORANGE CAT CODED
commenter: his lil cat adoption story was so sweet pls make a part 2!!
rindou:
your boyfriend was in his homemade gym room doing his sets when you placed the phone on the tripod that you set up in the room. rindou sets down his dumbbells as he looks at you with a raised brow.
you say nothing to him before you start recording, “make sure my boyfriend doesn’t hurt himself, thanks!” you say to the camera before you bolted out the room before rindou could say a word in.
rindou sighs as he gets up from his bench press, all sweaty and gross as he approaches the camera. he rolls his eyes once he realizes that the camera was recording. nevertheless, he returns back to his sets, grunting heavily every time he finishes parts of his routine.
you came back to see your boyfriend doing push-ups, a circular weight on his back and his biceps flexing everytime he pushes down.
“really?” you asked and rindou pauses mid push-up to look at you with a confused gaze.
“you’re being all slutty and sweaty for my camera?” you cross your arms, a deadpan expression on your face, rindou kneels from his position and gives you a look of disbelief.
“you’re the one who started recording! i’m just doing my normal routine.” you scoff.
“then why’d you have to look like a whore doing it!”
“excuse me?”
commenter: bro groans like a good boy
commenter: excuse me sir that groan? what happened to hi and hello?
(rindou had to make a follow up video explaining that he was taken AND he does NOT take it like a good boy.)
baji:
“i’m going to get the food outside, can you watch him for me?” you say, shoving the phone to baji’s face before running away. the action causes baji to jolt up from the couch and gripping the phone to stop it from falling in his grasp.
“oi, what the—” “oh, and no swearing, keisuke! we don’t want to get flagged.” you say before running out the door.
“huh?” it was only then baji realized that the phone was on a livestream and there are dozens of comments squealing over him.
“i’m so fu–darn hungry, (y/n)’s taking so long” he groans
“what am i supposed to do with this?” baji asks the chat and one comment in particular caught his eye.
“that’s a great idea, kazutora” he smiles ominously.
the next thing you knew was chifuyu calling baji’s phone. you picked it up and before you could even get a word in, you can hear chifuyu’s panicked voice.
“(y/n)! baji’s about to commit arson in your backyard!”
“he’s about to what?!”
commenter: 2/10 will not babysit again, he looks like he bites
commenter: 1/10. he scares me
kazutora:
“hey, babysit my boyfriend for me? thanks!” that was said with no context as kazutora finds himself facing the front camera of your phone. he stiffens up, not used to looking at himself much.
he awkwardly reaches for his bowl of cereal, eyes hyper focused on the camera as he scoops the spoon into the bowl.
“uh… hi.” he waves awkwardly, trying to watch the series that was on tv but he still couldn’t feel comfortable with the camera pointed at him so he turns the tv off.
“so uh… i’m eating a bowl of cocoa puffs.” kazutora says, showing the camera his meal, “they’re really good. it tastes like cocoa… i mean obviously– anyway!”
kazutora coughs. a blush forming on his cheeks on how awkward the entire situation is.
“so uhm. cats are cool.” he starts. “did you know that the calico cats were brought in japanese voyages because sailors thought they brought good luck?”
“it’s uhm. a pretty cool fact if i do say so myself.” silence.
“uh a cat was also mayor in an alaskan town for 20 years so there’s that.”
“oh! also, did you know that isaac newton invented the cat door?”
commenter: 5/5 he’s a lil awkward but his cat facts are so cute
commenter: 4/5 did not know about these cat facts and ill change my rating to 5/5 if we get more cat facts
sanzu:
“watch haru for me, thanks. he’s your problem now.” you say as you plop the phone in front of sanzu’s desktop.
“babe, what the hell?”
“careful, chat, he bites.” with that, you turned on your heel and left.
sanzu looks at the livestream and realizes that everyone was either thirsting for him or asking when your next shared content will come out.
“i’m in the middle of editing the video when that headache forced you to babysit me” sanzu said, shaking his head. “i do have one with senju coming out tomorrow, we tried 1 star hair products.”
he reads a comment and shakes his head. “of course not on my hair. (y/n) loves running her fingers on it and i’d be damned if i ruined it." he says before reading more comments
“what are your hair recommendations for someone with dry hair? well first, go condition that shit…”
“your curly hair is getting frizzy? souya said to not comb it while dry but i don’t know, if you fuck it up, blame the twins. my hair is pin straight so i wouldn’t know”
“skin care? i don’t know. whatever (y/n) puts on my face— don’t you dare take me out of context.”
commenter: was expecting to babysit this babygirl but got great skincare and haircare advice
commenter: apparently i was using the wrong toner, thanks for the help 5/5 will babysit again.
ran (bonus):
did not need any babysitting, was just asleep.
commenter: bro’s snoring
commenter: hes meditating guys
commenter: he’s died

Loser gamer boyfriend who couldn't believe he could actually get a girlfriend.
Loser gamer boyfriend who has never been in a relationship let alone be intimate with a girl.
Loser gamer boyfriend who was scared to be so close to you despite dating you because he's worried you'd think he's a creep or a weirdo.
Loser gamer boyfriend who feels so touched and appreciated every time you invade his personal space, even holding his clammy hands.
Loser gamer boyfriend who overthinks if one day you'd leave him for always playing video games.
Loser gamer boyfriend who gets pampered when he's at his gaming setup. He gets snacks and water from you and occasionally shoulder rubs and even his one and only viewer.
Loser gamer boyfriend who pays attention to you for the whole day instead of his game if you drove 1-3 hours to his house just to see him and didn't notice that you feel so happy about it.
Loser gamer boyfriend who would link his arm around yours while he plays, or have you in his lap and his chin rests on your head.
Loser gamer boyfriend who loves it when you lie on top of him while he games on his phone or a portable console. He wears his baggy, cozy hoodie and you loved how snuggly he looks so you would jump on to him in bed.
Loser gamer boyfriend who tries to keep his rage in check when you're around and would never put his anger on you for no reason just from a game. If he scared you at one point, he will apologize and give soft kisses all over your head and face while cuddling.
Loser gamer boyfriend who makes you melt to see how professional he can keep his mood in check. You'd hear cusses and yelling but when you dropped by to give him snacks, he'll turn to you and say "Thanks, babe," in the softest, sweetest voice in contrast with the loud swearing he just said to his teammates.
KENMA, SITETAMPO, (modern!au)XIAO, CHIFUYU, (modern!au)SCARA, CAELUS, KAZUTORA, FELIX, CHENG XIAOSHI, LU GUANG (+anyone that plays games, i literally can't think)
flowers are expensive (wbk). like- a dozen of flowers costs around 50$ (according to the internet), and for a boyfriend who just LOVES to spoil u with gifts but doesn't have Elon Musk's wallet, that's a little bit out of his price range.
so what does he do? he makes them. he goes out and buys a giant back of white paper (which is still cheaper than a dozen flowers), sits down, cuts the paper into smaller pieces and colors each of them in it own unique color before shaping them into flowers and wrapping them up in a paper where he wrote a short, but heartwarming letter to you.
"I couldn't buy you flowers, so I just made them for you.." he mumbled out sheepishly, hoping you'd like them.
like them? you're on your KNEES for them. the fact he took time out of his day to HAND MAKE paper flowers for you meant so much more than a dozen of roses that'll die in a few weeks or so.
ever since he saw just how much you liked his hand made gifts, that's all he gives to you in the future, and each and every time he comes up with more and more unique designs, all so he could see that beautiful smile of yours. ♡︎
Your boyfriend hums as he continues to stroke his thumb over the swells of your cheek, turning his head to smile down at you, “what’s up, baby?”
“I think… I feel like an orange,” you hum. You watch as his face turns into one of slight confusion, then his eyes turn to your hands laced with his, resting on your stomach. Instinctively, your thumb strokes over his, and he cocks his head softly.
“Can I be a blueberry?” He says softly.
“No, chifuyu-“ you can’t help the string of laughter that pour from your lips, body shifting with your cackles as he continues to stare down at you, his smile wavering slightly as if not understanding what was so funny. “I meant, eating an orange.”
“Oh.”
This, now, causes him to collapse in laughter, head tossing back as he lets the harmonic sound ring in the air. It sounds like a choir of angels, and it wraps you like a blanket, keeping you cozy on a fall day; you feel like a cat perched in the perfect ray of sunshine when Chifuyu laughs, light and soothed and content, like nothing could be better than this.
He sighs as he stops laughing, resting a hand on your stomach, gently patting it. “I think we have an orange in the bowl? Do you want it?”
You hum in confirmation before stretching, “I’m too comfy to get it.”
He clicks his tongue, “I mean, what kind of boyfriend would I be if I disrupted my fiancée’s comfort?” He asks, moving his hand from your stomach to gently grab your chin, holding you steady so he can lean down to kiss your lips. You return the affection gratefully, huffing as he pulls away.
“The worst,” you whisper. “Can you peel it for me?”
“I can peel it for you,” he says softly. “I’ll do whatever you want to it, just let me up.”
“Mmmno.” You turn on your side to bury your face in his stomach, the warmth emanating from the muscles peeks through his shirt, and you mewl and melt into the loving feeling.
He laughs, “what do you mean no? Don’t you want an orange?”
“I want an orange.”
“….and you want me to get it for you?”
“Yes.”
“But I have to get up?”
“Makes sense.”
“So…”
“No.”
He makes a noise of amusement, “I’m lost here.”
“No wonder Takemichi says those things about you.”
He pauses. You start to giggle in anticipation for riling up your man.
“What things?” He asks firmly, but there’s a smirk on his face. You curl on yourself slightly, only to shriek as fingers dig into your sides. "Spill."
"Never!"
The orange would have to come later. Right now, you're more than content with getting tortured by your man.
you heard the truth about the future — now you’ll do anything to change it, even if it means risking your own.

You never planned to hang out with Tokyo Manji.
Honestly, you blame Emma.
“Come on, Y/N! Just once” she said, holding your arm and giving you those big pleading eyes “You’ll like them. And Mikey too.”
You remember your answer “You’re trying to make me date him, aren’t you?”
Emma just laughed “Maybe.”
That was months ago.
Now, you know all their names, their fights, their weird jokes. Now, you’re always around.
You bring snacks after meetings, you patch up bruises, you scold Mikey when he steals food from everyone. You’re like background noise they got used to.
Everyone gets along with you. Well… almost everyone.
“Move, Y/N. You’re blocking the light.”
You turn to see Chifuyu, sitting on the curb with a manga in his hands, squinting dramatically.
You raise an eyebrow “Excuse me, I didn’t know you needed sunlight to read pictures.”
He smirks “It’s called a manga, not pictures.”
You cross your arms “Still pictures.”
He lets out an exaggerated sigh “How do you manage to annoy me every time you open your mouth?”
“Talent.” you say, smiling.
That’s how it always is between you and Chifuyu. Not really fighting but bickering. Constantly.
He complains you talk too much. You say he’s too serious.
He calls you “extra” and you call him “cat boy”.
Mikey laughs every single time.
Sometimes, you catch Chifuyu hiding a small grin before he rolls his eyes again. It’s your silent game.
“Y/N,” Emma says one afternoon while the two of you wait outside the bike shop “You and Chifuyu fight a lot.”
You sip your soda “That’s because he’s fun to mess with.”
“You like him?” she teases.
You choke “No! I’d rather date Angry.”
Emma gasps dramatically “That’s a crime!”
You laugh, wiping your mouth “Exactly. So no. Not happening.”
But when Chifuyu arrives later, all messy hair and that calm look, you feel your heart skip just a little. But you ignore it.
You don’t realize it yet, but your easy, loud, ordinary days with them are about to change soon. Because one quiet evening, when you’ll take a wrong turn and hear a truth you should never know, your world will never feel so ordinary again.
It’s getting dark when you leave Emma’s house.
The streets are quiet, only the hum of a few bikes passing by. You’re on your way to Takemichi’s house where Chifuyu said he’d be, helping Takemichi after his fight with Taiju.
You think about grabbing them snacks, but then shrug. He always complains about your taste anyway.
You turn the corner, and stop.
Voices. Familiar ones.
“Chifuyu, I swear… it sounds crazy, but it’s the truth.”
Takemichi. His tone is nervous, shaky.
You hesitate. You’re not the kind of person who spies. But the way he sounds, like he’s about to cry, makes you stay still.
“I’m not from this time,” he continues “I go back and forth… between the future and now.”
You blink. You almost laugh out loud. What? You press your back against the wall, holding your breath.
Chifuyu sounds confused “What the hell do you mean? “Came from the future”?”
Takemichi tells him everything, voice trembling.
You lean closer without meaning to, your heart pounding.
“I’m gonna get killed by Kisaki?”
The world goes silent.
Your first thought: That’s not funny.
Takemichi seems to panic at that “...Just kidding.I was joking around.” with a fake laugh.
Your second: He’s serious.
You wait for Chifuyu to laugh it off, say something dumb, call it a joke. But he doesn’t.
He is quiet for a long time. You hear the faint sound of him exhaling.
Then, he says softly, “Somehow, I always knew.”
You blink. He believes him?
You press a hand to your chest. If Chifuyu believes it, maybe… maybe it’s real.
They keep talking and you keep hearing.
Takemichi’s voice breaks again “You really believe me? And all the stuff I said that sounds like total bullshit?”
Chifuyu says, trying to sound calm, “Of course I do, dumbass!”
Your fingers curl into a fist.
You step back slowly, making sure they don’t hear you. Your throat feels tight, your legs heavy. You walk away fast, heart racing.
You can’t tell anyone what you just heard. You shouldn’t have heard it at all.
But you did. And now, every time you see Kisaki’s face… all you’ll see is Chifuyu lying on the ground.
At first, you try to act normal.
You still meet up with everyone, still tease Chifuyu, still scold Mikey when he eats your snacks. But every time you see Kisaki, your stomach twists.
You remember his calm, fake smile and the way Takemichi’s voice cracked when he said “he kills you”.
So when Kisaki is around, you start watching. You don’t even notice it at first, the way your eyes follow him, the way your jaw tightens.
One afternoon, at the meeting spot, Kisaki is explaining something to the captains.
You stand behind Emma, pretending to listen, but really your gaze is on him.
He smirks, adjusts his glasses, keeps talking like he’s smarter than everyone else.
Your fingers twitch.
Then he says Chifuyu’s name, something about “keeping your division under control”.
You don’t know why, but you speak before you can stop yourself “Maybe you should worry about your own division, four-eyes.”
The silence that follows is heavy.
Kisaki turns his head slowly “Excuse me?”
You cross your arms “You heard me.”
Everyone blinks. Draken looks at Mikey. Mikey just munches on his dorayaki.
Chifuyu sighs “Y/N… not now.”
You look away “Whatever.”
That’s the first time.
The second time happens two days later.
You’re all hanging around after they had a meeting. Kisaki walks past you, brushing your shoulder. Maybe it’s an accident. Maybe not.
“Watch where you’re going.” you mutter.
He doesn’t even stop “Maybe you should.”
That’s it.
You grab his sleeve “You got a problem with me?”
Kisaki finally turns, eyes cold “Plenty.”
Draken steps in between you before it gets bad “Enough, both of you.”
You pull away, glare still burning “Tell him to stay away from me.”
Kisaki just smirks and walks off.
You can feel Chifuyu’s stare from behind you.
By the fourth time, everyone notices.
You don’t talk when Kisaki’s there. You don’t laugh. You just watch. And every time he opens his mouth, you find something to throw back.
“Why do you hate him so much?” Pah-chin asks once “He didn’t even do anything.”
You look down “He just pisses me off.”
Even Emma starts to worry “Y/N, he’s not worth it. Don’t make Mikey mad.”
You try to listen, but you can’t stop.
It’s like the anger grows every day, not loud, but deep. Because you know. You know what he’s going to do. And Chifuyu… he just smiles like nothing’s wrong.
The final straw comes one night after another meeting.
Kisaki says something under his breath as he walks by, something about “weak people following weak leaders”.
You don’t think. You just move.
Your hand grabs his collar “Say that again.”
Kisaki’s glasses catch the light “You’re really brave, aren’t you?”
Before you can swing, Chifuyu catches your arm “Y/N! Stop!”
Everyone’s watching now. Takemichi looks pale. Draken’s jaw is tight.
Mikey finally stands “Oi, Y/N… enough.”
You freeze. You let go.
Chifuyu drags you away by the wrist, muttering something you don’t catch.
When you’re far enough, he turns to you, angry and confused “What the hell is wrong with you lately?”
You don’t answer. You just stare at him, the boy who, in another timeline, is already dead.
Your voice shakes “Nothing.”
He frowns “Don’t lie.”
You force a small smile “I’m fine, Chifuyu. Really.”
But the truth burns on your tongue, heavy and silent. Because if you say it, if you tell him you know, everything might fall apart. You might fall apart.
The sun is low. The air smells like oil and dust. People are talking, laughing. You stand with Emma, trying to look normal.
Kisaki walks by, like he planned to. He slows on purpose. He looks at you with that small, calm smile.
He says loud enough for you to hear “She’s annoying, isn’t she? Always loud, always in the way.” He tilts his head like it’s a polite question.
A laugh slips out from someone nearby. You feel the laugh like a slap.
Your hands clench until they hurt. You try to tell yourself it’s nothing. Maybe he’s joking. Maybe he’s playing around.
Then he adds, soft but clear “It would be easy to get rid of someone like that. No one would miss her for long.”
The words are calm. The meaning is mean. You don’t think. Your feet move without your brain.
You shove him. Hard.
He doesn’t stumble. He smiles like he expected you “Impatient.” His voice is small, sharp “That’s entertaining.”
You shove again “Say it to my face! Say you’d get rid of me!” Your voice shakes. It comes out rough.
He leans closer, eyes cold and bright. He says the words slow, like he’s enjoying them “You’re the first one I’ll get rid of. Annoying brat.”
You see the plan in his face, to make you snap, to get a reaction.
Your vision blurs. Your fingers find his collar. Everything inside you is burning.
Kisaki’s smile doesn't change. He tilts his head and watches you like you're an insect “Go on,” he says “Show me what you’ve got.”
Chifuyu moves faster than you expect. He slams his hand on your shoulder to pull you back “Y/N! Stop it!” he hisses.
You don’t stop. You try to twist free. Tears burn hot in your eyes “You think you can say that? You think—” Your breath breaks. Your knees wobble.
Takemichi appears at Chifuyu’s side, face pale. He reaches for you, voice small “Y/N, please…”
Draken steps forward, wide and steady, like he always does. Mikey’s face is a hard line for once. Nobody knows how to act.
Kisaki watches all of it with a little smile. He wanted this. You know he wanted this.
You wrench your arm out of Chifuyu’s grip and lunge forward. Your hands hit Kisaki’s chest. He barely flinches. He keeps his calm like ice.
“Say it again,” you sob “Say it to my face.”
He leans down, speaks into your ear so only you can hear. His voice is cold and close “You’ll be the first I get rid of, annoying brat.”
This time it’s a whisper. The words scrape along your skin like a razor.
Your body goes cold. You feel hollow and real all at once. The sound of your own crying surprises you. It’s loud and ugly.
“Fuck you, I’ll kill you! I swear I will fucking kill you!” you say in between your sobs, actually surprising even yourself.
Chifuyu grabs you by the shoulders with both hands, hard enough to hurt. He forces you back. Takemichi grabs your waist to hold you steady. The two of them push you away from Kisaki together.
You stumble, into Chifuyu’s chest, and collapse there, shaking. The world spins. You can still hear Kisaki’s quiet chuckle.
No one moves at first. They all watch like they’re frozen. Even Kisaki’s voice is calm in the distance, talking like nothing happened, like he didn’t cut through your skin with words.
Emma is at the edge of the group, hand over her mouth. Pah-chin looks shocked. Someone coughs, nervous. The air tastes like iron.
You cry hard, hiccuping. The sound comes out raw. Takemichi’s face crumbles, he’s pale and trembling while he and Chifuyu walk you out, away from everyone.
“Y/N…” he says, voice breaking “I’m sorry. I didn’t know— I didn’t—”
Your face is wet and red. Your throat is tight, but you force the truth out because you can’t carry it alone anymore.
“I heard you,” you say to Takemichi, then to Chifuyu. The words fall awkward and fast “I heard you and Takemichi talking. I heard everything. He said—he said Kisaki kills you in the future. I wasn’t supposed to hear. I didn’t mean to— I only heard and I—” Your voice breaks “I couldn’t stay quiet.”
Chifuyu’s hands stop moving. He looks at Takemichi like he’s been punched. His face changes, like the sun behind clouds.
“You heard?” Chifuyu asks softly. His voice is small and sharp. He sounds… scared.
Takemichi’s eyes slam shut. He clutches his own head, like he needs to steady himself “I didn’t know she was there.” He turns to you, panic in his voice “I didn’t know. I swear I didn’t tell her… I’m sorry. This is a mess.”
You cry harder “You didn’t tell me.” You whisper “I wasn’t supposed to hear. But I did. And I can’t— I can’t just stand there when he says he’ll get rid of me.” Your hands shake “I can’t let him say that about you either. I can’t let him do that!”
Chifuyu’s jaw tightens. For a second he looks like he could break. Then he pulls you closer, awkward and fast, like he’s anchoring you to something solid.
“You should not have heard that,” he says low “But you did. And now we know.” He looks at Takemichi. The way his eyes darken makes Takemichi flinch.
Kisaki walks out, calm and composed like a cat that just knocked a glass off a table. He watches without caring “I didn’t mean to upset her.” he says lightly. It’s a lie with a smile.
“Stay away from her.” Chifuyu says to Kisaki. His voice is quiet but full of steel “You don’t touch her. You don’t speak to her like that.”
Kisaki puts a hand to his glasses and straightens them “If she’s a problem, we’ll handle it,” he says coolly “But I don’t think it has to be a problem for me.”
Chifuyu’s grip on you tightens. You can feel the worry in his hands. He holds you like you could break. Takemichi looks like he wants to shrink into the floor. The others ring around you like a loose shield.
You cry into Chifuyu’s shirt. Your heart feels like it might stop. You tell them the truth because you can’t lie anymore. The secret is big and heavy and it’s inside your chest, and for the first time since you heard it, you don’t try to hide.
“Okay.” Chifuyu says finally, turning to you. His voice is small and steady, but there’s steel under it “We’ll fix this. Together.”
You nod against him, sobbing. You don’t know how. You only know you’re not alone in this, even if the threat still hangs in the air like a blade.
For a while after you tell them, Chifuyu and Takemichi change how they act. They don't say it out loud. They just... move you around the room like chess pieces.
If you come to a meeting and Kisaki is there, Chifuyu makes sure you stand near him, far far far from Kisaki. If Takemichi sees a group forming with Kisaki in the middle, he stands between you and Kisaki without making a scene. Sometimes it's small things, a gentle tug on your sleeve, a look that says not here. Sometimes it's blunt: Chifuyu literally pats the empty space next to him and says, "Sit here".
You notice, and at first you feel weird. Loved, scared, guilty, all at once. You don't want them to treat you like fragile glass. But you also do not want Kisaki near you.
One afternoon Emma is impossible. She walks around her bedroom with that bright grin that means trouble.
“Y/N,” she says, grabbing your arm “The boys are having a little reunion. Come with me? Please?”
You pull back “I don't want to.”
Emma frowns “Why? You always go.”
“Not today.” Your voice is flat. You feel the old tightness in your chest. Kisaki could be there. You don't want him poking at you.
Emma rolls her eyes and gives you a playful push “Come on. Just for a bit. I want to see Draken.”
You almost say no again, but she pushes you toward the door, smiling like she already won “Now.”
So you go with her. You don't like being pushed, but you follow because Emma's like that. She drags you straight to where the guys are.
Draken and Mikey are there, talking and laughing. For a moment you almost forget the whisper in your ear, Kisaki's voice, and you let the laughter move around you.
Emma bounces up to Draken, waving “Oi! There's a festival this weekend. What if we all go together?”
She looks at Draken like she’s asking him out on a date. Draken blinks, then laughs. Mikey cheers. The mood is light.
A voice that sounds like silk cuts across the chatter “Oh, it's a date?”
You don't want to look, but you do. Kisaki is smiling at you. He says it like he's making a joke, but it lands like a stone.
You breathe out slowly and keep your face calm. You don't give him the reaction he wants.
He lifts an eyebrow “What? You want to go with me?” His smirk is ugly and slow.
You open your mouth, ready to snap, to remind him that he has no right but Emma beats you to it.
“No thanks, she's going with Mik—” she says, and you see her reach for your arm to point at Mikey like a joke.
But Chifuyu's voice cuts in before she can finish. It's quiet but it lands like a promise “She’s going with me.”
You turn. Chifuyu is walking toward you, calm and steady. Takemichi is next to him, then Atsushi, Yamagishi, Yamamoto, and Makoto follow like an easy little pack, blocking Kisaki's line.
Your shoulders, which you didn't know were tense, loosen a little. You can't bring yourself to smile, but the relief is real. It's small, but it moves through you like warm tea.
Kisaki watches the scene as his smile stays “As you wish.” He makes it sound like he doesn't care. Everyone knows better, he doesn't care because he wanted to push you, wanted to see you react. He got the reaction he wanted before you even moved.
Emma claps her hands, breaking the heavy quiet “So it's settled! We'll meet at the entrance of the festival!” She smiles at Draken like she won the world.
You look at Chifuyu. He's standing close enough that you can see the little line at his mouth when he forces himself to relax. He meets your eyes for a second. There’s something soft there, but also fear, like a storm cloud you can’t see.
You want to smile at him. You want to tell him you're okay because he's there. But every time you look at him, that image, the one from Takemichi's story, flashes. Chifuyu on the ground, the gun, the cold air. It makes your chest hurt.
So instead you turn away. You walk fast, like walking will blow the thoughts out of you. Emma follows, talking about festival food and the rides. You move, but the weight in your ribs stays.
Chifuyu watches you go. He doesn't say anything. Takemichi looks guilty, like he wants to apologize for making you carry the secret. The others pretend not to notice, but their eyes flick to you more than before.
As you leave, you think: they are moving the pieces to protect you. It helps. But it also makes it real, like you are already in the middle of something that could break.
For now you just walk, Emma skipping ahead, and you try to breathe around the shadow of the future.
The festival lights paint the night in colors, gold, pink, red. The air smells like fried food, sweet syrup, and summer. You and Emma stand by the entrance, surrounded by noise and laughter.
Emma keeps looking at the crowd. She’s bouncing on her toes like she’s trying to see over everyone’s heads.
You watch her, smiling a little “You look nervous.”
Emma laughs softly but doesn’t stop searching “I’m not nervous, I’m excited.”
You raise an eyebrow “Uh-huh. Excited to see Draken, maybe?”
She puffs her cheeks and pushes your shoulder “Shut up!”
You laugh, but then you notice something change in her face. Her shoulders drop just a little. You follow her gaze and see Draken and Mikey walking together toward you.
You can feel Emma’s tiny sigh before she forces a big grin back on her face.
“Emma… are you okay?” you ask quietly, before they’re close enough to hear.
She blinks, then smiles wide again “Of course! Can’t wait! Let’s have a lot of fun today, Y/N!”
You nod, even if her eyes still look a little sad.
“Yo!” Mikey waves as soon as he spots you “You guys came early!”
“Someone couldn’t wait.” you tease, tilting your head at Emma.
“Hey!” she protests, cheeks puffed, but Mikey just laughs and offers her a taiyaki from the stall nearby.
Draken gives her a small smile “You look nice, Emma.”
You swear you can almost hear her heart explode.
A few minutes later, you see Chifuyu walking toward you. One hand in his pocket, hair slightly messy like he got ready in a rush. Takemichi and the others follow behind, talking about what to try first.
But Chifuyu’s eyes find you right away.
You try not to notice the tiny spark in your chest when they do.
He stops in front of you, scratching the back of his neck “Uh… here.”
You blink “What?”
He pulls something from behind his back, a small white flower, delicate and a little crooked “I saw it on the way here. It, uh… reminded me of you.”
Your heart skips.
“You didn’t have to…” you say softly, taking it carefully, “but thank you.”
He shrugs, but there’s a shy blush creeping up his cheeks “It’s nothing.”
Mikey grins “Oooooh, Chifuyu’s being romantic!”
“Shut up!” Chifuyu snaps, turning red.
You can’t help but laugh, hiding your face behind the flower.
Once everyone’s inside, the festival feels like another world, lanterns glowing above, music floating through the air, people laughing everywhere.
You and Emma buy some food, play a few games, and chase Mikey when he tries to steal your cotton candy. It’s chaotic but warm.
Then somehow, between one booth and the next, you look around and realize you can’t see Emma, Draken, or Mikey anywhere.
You frown “Uh… did we lose them?”
Chifuyu looks around too “Probably. Mikey’s impossible to track when there’s food around.”
You sigh, but before you can decide what to do, he points at a nearby stall “Hey, let’s play something while we wait.”
You hesitate “Shouldn’t we look for them?”
He grins “They’ll find us. Come on, I’ll win you something.”
You roll your eyes but smile “You sound confident.”
“I am confident,” he says, stepping up to a goldfish scooping booth “Watch and learn.”
He kneels down, holding the paper scoop like a pro. You crouch next to him, chin resting on your hand.
“You’ve done this before?” you ask.
“Of course. I used to win a bunch of these for Peke J.”
You giggle “So this is cat training now?”
He smirks “Exactly. He’d be proud.”
The first scoop breaks instantly. You laugh so hard you almost fall over.
“Don’t laugh!” he grumbles “That one was slippery.”
“Sure it was…” you tease.
He glances up, smiling despite himself “You’re enjoying this too much.”
“Maybe” you admit.
By the time he finally manages to catch one, you’re both laughing like kids.
He lifts it proudly “See? Told you I’d win.”
You smile “I’m impressed.”
“You should be. This took skill and patience.”
“It took five tries.” you say.
He shrugs “Practice makes perfect.”
He pays the old man behind the stall and hands you the small bag with the fish.
“For me?” you ask, surprised.
“Who else?” he says. His voice is soft now “You look happier with it.”
You stare at him for a second, at his easy grin, the way the festival lights reflect in his eyes.
Your heart feels warm, light, and scared all at once.
“Thanks” you whisper.
He tilts his head “You okay?”
You nod quickly “Yeah. Just… it’s been a while since I had this much fun.”
He smiles, smaller this time “Then let’s make it last.”
The noise of the festival fills the silence between you. Lanterns swing gently overhead, and for the first time in a long while, you let yourself relax.
You laugh again when he loses at a shooting game, and he buys you another snack just to prove he’s not mad at you for laughing at him. And when your shoulders brush in the crowd, he doesn’t move away, and neither do you.
For a little while, you forget about Kisaki, the secret, and the future that waits like a shadow.
For now, it’s just you and Chifuyu, laughing, playing, and breathing in a night that feels too good to be real.
The air is still warm, and the night hums with the noise of the festival, laughter, games, and fireworks starting in the distance.
You and Chifuyu are standing by another booth, lights reflecting in his eyes. There’s a small plush toy hanging from the top shelf, a tiny white cat with a red ribbon around its neck.
“Aw, that’s cute” you say softly, smiling at it.
Chifuyu follows your gaze “That one?”
You nod.
“Then I’m getting it.”
You laugh “You don’t have to win everything I like.”
He grins “I want to.”
He takes the air rifle from the stand, lines up his shot, and misses completely.
You burst out laughing “Wow, great start.”
“Hey, I’m just warming up!” he says, cheeks a little red.
He tries again, this time the bullet hits the shelf, the plush toy wobbling but staying put. He groans.
“You’re seriously trying too hard,” you tease “It’s just a plushie.”
“It’s not just a plushie,” he mutters “It’s the thing you thought was cute.”
You feel your chest tighten a little at that. Your smile softens. You’re about to say something warm, when, from the corner of your eye, you see Takemichi.
He’s standing a little farther away, with Hina beside him, both smiling at something the other said. They look… peaceful.
But something in that moment hits you like cold water. The future. The deaths. The pain you shouldn’t even know about.
Your smile fades.
“Hey,” you say quietly “Do you mind if I leave you for five minutes?”
You force a small smile “Yeah. I just need to talk to someone real quick.”
He looks a little disappointed, but he nods anyway “Okay. I’ll wait here.”
You walk through the crowd until you reach Takemichi and Hina.
“Hey,” you say softly, giving Hina an apologetic look “Sorry, can I borrow Takemichi for a minute? Just… something important.”
Hinata blinks but nods with a kind smile “Of course.”
Takemichi looks confused, but he follows you.
You walk together into the small patch of trees near the edge of the festival, where the lights fade and the sounds are distant, muffled by leaves and night air.
You stop, but you can’t look at him yet.
“Y/N?” Takemichi asks gently “What’s wrong?”
You take a breath “I have a favor to ask you.”
He blinks “A favor?”
You finally turn to him “Yeah. It’s… important.”
He nods, cautious “Sure. What is it?”
Your throat tightens, but you force the words out.
“If one day, when you go back to the future, you see that Kisaki finally got defeated… and that to do that, I’ve… lost my life—” you swallow hard, “please don’t come back to save me.”
Takemichi’s eyes widen “What? What are you talking about?”
“I mean it,” you say firmly, though your voice trembles “If my death means that Kisaki is gone too, and everyone else is safe, then you have to leave it like that. That’s all I’m asking.”
Takemichi takes a step closer, shaking his head “Y/N, what are you planning exactly? You can’t—”
You interrupt, your tone sharp but full of pain “Please. It’s not about planning anything. It’s about being ready. If it ever happens, don’t undo it. Promise me that, Takemichi.”
He stares at you, completely shocked. His mouth opens, but no sound comes out. You can see him fighting between disbelief and guilt.
“Please,” you whisper “You have to promise me. I know it’s too much, and I’m sorry I’m asking you this, but you’re the only one I can tell these things to.”
You nod slowly, still not meeting his eyes. Then, finally, you do. You give him a small, sad smile “Make sure Chifuyu lives a happy life in the future.”
A voice breaks through the dark before Takemichi can respond… angry, cracked, and full of disbelief “You… you want me to live a happy life?”
You freeze.
Takemichi turns around, startled.
You turn too and see Chifuyu, standing a few steps away, tears already glistening in his eyes.
“Y/N,” he says, voice trembling “You’re here talking about something so risky, planning to die, and you want me to just be happy without you?”
Your eyes widen “Chifuyu, please…”
He shakes his head, walking closer “I can’t live a happy life without you, okay? So please—” he turns to Takemichi, voice shaking “don’t promise her anything.”
Takemichi’s lips part, but he can only nod, eyes full of guilt “I’m sorry, Y/N.” He bows slightly and walks away, leaving you and Chifuyu alone under the trees.
You don’t know what to say. The silence is heavy, broken only by distant laughter and fireworks echoing from the festival.
Chifuyu turns back to you, his eyes glassy “Y/N,” he whispers, stepping closer “We can fix this. We will fix this, without losing anyone else. So please, promise me…”
He takes your hands in his, gripping them tight, as if you might disappear “Promise me that you’ll stay by my side. That you won’t risk your life like that.”
You shake your head, tears blurring your vision “Chifuyu…”
His voice breaking “If you really want to make me happy, then live. With me. By my side. You’ll see it yourself how happy I’ll be in the future, because we’ll be together, okay?”
You stare at him for a moment, his words echoing in your chest like thunder.
Then you nod, tears slipping down your cheeks “Okay” you whisper.
You don’t think, stepping forward and throwing your arms around him, holding him tight.
He freezes for a second, then hugs you back, his hand gently caressing your hair.
“Please,” you sob against his chest, “let’s change that future.”
He nods against your hair “We will. I swear we will.”
You lift your head, your eyes meeting his, and before either of you can think twice, he leans in and kisses you.
It’s soft, trembling, full of everything you both can’t say, as fear, love and hope. Above you, fireworks bloom in the sky, painting the dark of the night and the trees in beautiful colors you can feel in your heart.
And for a moment, the future doesn’t matter, only the warmth of his lips, his hands, and the promise you just made together.
The walk back to the festival feels lighter, like the air itself has changed. You can still feel the warmth of Chifuyu’s hand brushing against yours, the echo of his words in your chest.
The fireworks have ended, but the night sky still glows with color. Lanterns flicker overhead, laughter drifts through the air again.
It feels… safe. For the first time in a long while, you’re not thinking about what might happen. You’re just here.
Chifuyu walks beside you, glancing at you every few seconds, pretending he’s not checking to make sure you’re okay. You notice it, of course, and it makes you smile.
“Stop looking at me like that.” you tease softly.
He blinks “Like what?”
“Like you’re scared I’ll disappear if you look away.”
He grins, but there’s still that softness in his eyes “Can you blame me?”
You laugh quietly and bump his shoulder “You’re such a dork.”
“Yeah,” he says, rubbing the back of his neck “But I’m your dork now, right?”
You roll your eyes, but your heart beats a little faster “I guess so.”
He laughs, and you both walk past the game stalls again. He stops when he spots the plushie you liked earlier, the little white cat with the red ribbon.
“Wait here” he says suddenly.
Before you can ask why, he pays for another try. You watch him aim carefully this time, jaw set in concentration. The pellet hits the target perfectly, and the plushie falls into the booth owner’s hand.
He turns, triumphant, holding it up like a trophy “See? I told you I’d get it!”
You can’t help but grin “You really didn’t have to.”
“I wanted to.” he says again, softer.
You take it from him, holding it close to your chest “Thank you, Chifuyu.”
The way your voice sounds shy, full of warmth, makes him blush to the tips of his ears. He rubs the back of his neck again, smiling nervously.
And that’s exactly when a loud squeal nearly makes you jump out of your skin “OH. MY. GOD!!!”
You both turn, startled. Emma is running toward you, dragging Hinata by the arm, with Mikey, Draken, Takemichi and Hinata following behind, all looking either amused or confused.
Emma grabs you by the shoulders, shaking you with way too much energy “FINALLY! LOOK AT YOU TWO! I knew it! I KNEW IT!!”
“E-Emma!” you stammer, face burning “It’s not—”
She cuts you off, hugging you tight “I was trying to set you up with Mikey, but I guess this works toooo!”
You hear Mikey behind her snort “Wait, me?”
Chifuyu’s eyes snap to you instantly “With Mikey?” he asks, voice sharp and just a little too loud.
You blink, surprised, before bursting into laughter at his expression “Don’t tell me you’re jealous.”
“I’m not jealous…” he mutters, crossing his arms “Just… curious.”
Mikey, ever unbothered, shrugs “I like her better with Chifuyu anyway.”
That only makes Chifuyu blush harder “Mikey!”
Emma giggles behind her hand “See? Everyone agrees! This is perfect!”
You laugh, but your cheeks are on fire. You can barely look at anyone, especially with Emma still clinging to your arm.
Chifuyu notices how embarrassed your face is getting, and without a word, he steps forward, pulls you gently into his arms, and hugs you close.
Your breath catches.
Everyone around you goes quiet for a second, then you hear Mikey go, “Awww” and Emma squealing again.
Chifuyu leans down, close enough that only you can hear him. His voice is low, steady and warm.
“Let’s watch the fireworks together next year,” he whispers “And the year after that. And in forty years too.”
Your fingers curl into the fabric of his jacket, your eyes burning.
He knows how much those words mean to you. How much that future means to you. Because for you, it’s not just a promise to stay together. It’s a promise that he’ll live. That you both will.
You hug him tighter, hiding your face against his chest “Yeah,” you whisper “Every year.”
And as the laughter of your friends fills the air again, and the last few fireworks bloom above the festival, you can’t help but feel that maybe, you already started changing the future.
A week passes after the festival, and somehow, everything feels softer now. The memories of that night still replay in your head: the fireworks, his words, his kiss.
It feels unreal… but it’s real.
No one knows yet, except for the ones who were there at the festival and a few of Chifuyu’s closest friends in Toman. You're not hiding it, you just didn’t care to announce it to people who don’t even care about it.
When you hear Toman’s having a meeting tonight, you decide to show up after it ends, just to surprise him.
The sun’s already setting when you reach the parking lot. You find Chifuyu’s bike parked near the back and sit beside it, opening a bag of chips.
You wait, munching, legs stretched out, looking at the sky slowly turning orange and pink. You don’t mind waiting, you kind of like it. You know the sound of his bike, his voice, the way he’ll smile when he sees you.
One by one, Toman members start leaving the building.
Some wave when they see you “Yo, Y/N! You’re here again?”
You grin, waving back “Yeah, just waiting for someone!”
“Lucky guy!” one of them jokes, and you just laugh it off.
Everything feels easy, until it doesn’t. Because, of course, your luck has limits.
You look up and see Kisaki coming out with Hanma and a few others. His eyes meet yours, and that familiar smirk stretches across his face.
You feel your stomach tighten instantly.
He walks past, slow, deliberate, like he’s making sure you know he’s seen you. He doesn’t say anything, just looks, the corner of his mouth twitching like he knows exactly how to get under your skin.
You grip your bag of chips tighter, jaw clenched. You’re not going to let him ruin this. Not tonight.
But your pulse still jumps when he stops a few feet away, tilting his head with that fake curiosity “Waiting for someone?” he says, tone dripping with mock sweetness.
You don’t even look at him “Not your business.”
Hanma snickers “Feisty as always.”
You’re just about to get up when a familiar voice cuts through the air, bright, warm, and loud “Y/N!! What a surprise!”
You turn and see Chifuyu jogging toward you, his smile wide and genuine. Before you can even react, he grabs your hand, pulls you up and kisses you.
Right there.
In front of everyone.
It’s soft but firm, enough to make your heart skip and your brain freeze. You hear a few gasps and whistles from Toman members nearby, and when you finally pull back, Kisaki is standing completely still, that smug smirk wiped clean off his face.
You can’t help it, you start smiling.
Chifuyu’s eyes meet yours, and he grins “So what’s your plan today?”
You laugh nervously “I brought snacks for a picnic… if you want to?”
You show him the small bag in your hands, filled with snacks and drinks.
His expression softens instantly “You’re unbelievable,” he says, pulling you into a hug “Of course I want to.”
Then, without another word, he takes your hand, leads you to his bike, and helps you climb on behind him.
You loop your arms around his waist, resting your cheek against his back. You can feel his heartbeat through his jacket, steady, real.
As the bike engine roars to life, you catch a glimpse of Kisaki in the distance, his jaw tight, eyes cold, watching as you drive off.
But neither of you look back.
The city lights blur into streaks of gold and blue as the wind rushes past you. You tighten your grip on Chifuyu’s jacket, laughing softly into the night.
When he finally slows down, you’re in a quiet open field just outside the city, the same spot you once watched fireworks from with everyone else.
He turns the engine off and looks over his shoulder, smiling “Is this okay for our date?”
You grin “Perfect.”
You spread out a blanket, open your snacks, and sit close enough that your knees touch. The world feels quiet again, just the two of you, the stars, and the soft hum of the bike cooling behind you.
Chifuyu leans back on his hands, looking up at the sky “You know, I think Kisaki’s gonna be mad about today.”
You giggle “Good.”
He turns his head toward you, his smile warm and full of mischief “You’re dangerous, you know that?”
You shrug, pretending to think “Maybe you’re rubbing off on me.”
He laughs, that kind of laugh that comes from deep inside, full and real. Then he looks at you again, eyes gentle now.
“Let’s make more days like this,” he says softly “No fights, no thoughts. Just us.”
You reach out, taking his hand “Yeah,” you whisper “Just us.”
And somewhere behind the warmth of that moment, you know you’re not alone. You’ve already started rewriting the story.
And none of you know that you already changed a part of that future.

You were simply reading your book when your boyfriend decided to flop onto your stomach.
“Oof.” You groaned. “Ack, Chifuyu!”
He grinned up at you. “Hi.”
“Yeah, hi.” You muttered. “What are you doing?”
“Attention seeking.”
“Why am I not surprised? So you’re just going to lay on my stomach and not do anything?”
He snuggled into you. “There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”
“You sap.”
“Only for you.”
All you did was hum in response, returning to your book. As you read, your hand subconsciously slipped into his hair. While you played with it, he hummed in contentment, leaning into your touch and pressing further into your stomach. You, however, were unaware of the effect you were having on your lazy boyfriend, completely enraptured by your book.
As you continued your ministrations on his scalp, Chifuyu started to make a noise that almost sounded like a purr. It was as if your fingertips held magic that eased his mind and body. It was then that he was sure you’d be the death of him. And he was totally okay with that.
When you finished your chapter, you glanced down at your boyfriend and laughed at his blissed out expression. “You doing okay there, love?”
“Oh, yeah. Absolutely.”
You shook your head and kissed your palm before threading it through his hair once more. He simply cooed in delight. You chuckled, mumbling, “You’re so cute. Like a kitten.”
“Sure, whatever you say.”
“You’re not even going to deny it?”
“Why deny what’s true?”
You chuckled. “You’re a strange one, 'Fuyu. But I still love you, I suppose.:
He glanced up at you and pouted. “You suppose?”
Shrugging, you answered, “I mean if I wanted a cat, I could just buy one. Besides, cats are far less troublesome.”
“Are you calling me high maintenance?”
“Well, if the shoe fits.”
Sitting up, he defiantly exclaimed, “how about I buy you that cat and then we’ll see who’s more high maintenance.”
“Aww, you’d do that for me? Thanks love! You’re the best!” You patted his cheek with a teasing grin.
STEALING MIKEY'S KEYS SO HE'S LATE FOR A MEETING>>>>>
09:32 pm
I believe that intimacy is the new kind of pure love. Getting to know someone on a deeper level is something that goes beyond simple attachment, it goes beyond the simple but necessary need of validation.
Being intimate means getting on the same frequency level as a person and communicating effectively with each word, each action, and each stare.
Intimacy isn't something you only find under the sheets until sweat, tears and arousal dampen the mattress. Its true nature lies in between the actions of your everyday life, moments that don't need any kind of particular reason to happen and yet feel special because you are there, you are connected.
You have realised such a thing only briefly as the air is getting in and out of your lungs hectically, your breath coming short and irregular and the adrenaline rushing through your veins full speed with each pump of your vital muscle.
Your legs almost shake and your feet ache slightly, your eyes darting to the person in front of you with an excited and rebellious glimmer, the glint of life.
You've been running away from Mikey for the last ten minutes because you had taken the keys to his motorbike.
He has been spending every evening with Toman recently, not passing by your home to even say goodnight because the meetings always finish late at night.
You know that he always tries his best to make it up to you for the lost time with his ways of bringing your favourite sweets to school, taking you home and around the city with his bike whenever you need to, sending you a sweet message randomly throughout the day to check up on you, never missing the opportunity to hug you, kiss you or keeping you close when you pass by, and yet… You can't help but miss him more than anything.
You tried to talk to him about it but he prefers for you to not get too involved in his gang business: he fears your safety, not wanting hundreds of testosterone-filled guys to get close to his beloved.
You fear nothing when he's by your side but he still turns you down when you ask to come along with him: he has lost too many people he cared about for his good and he has no intention of putting you in danger even the slightest.
This had to change.
That's why you're preventing him from heading to the meeting of Toman until he makes up his mind.
“Y/N! I'm gonna be late, please, give me those darn keys back, goddamnit!!”
His voice spurts out desperately, short puffs of air coming out of his mouth as he tries to catch his breath: you're fast for fuck’s sake!
He is a bit pissed at you for acting this stubborn, sure, but he can't help the wide smile that plasters on his face the more he hears you laugh every time he can't catch you, every time you hide behind his motorbike and fool him by running in the opposite direction, almost tripping on your own feet.
That smile of yours, that light in your eyes is worth every spare minute of his life and the meeting can wait if that means he has the chance to see you this full of energetic playfulness.
You're both in the flowers of your youth and sometimes you forget that due to how harsh life experiences can be. Moments like these make up for the lost time.
As you raise your hand high and shake his keys, making them jingle as you do so, you can't help but feel overpowered by pride: having your super athletic boyfriend, the invincible Mikey whining out to you so he can get what he wants isn't an everyday occurrence (I mean– unless he's begging for sweets or your attention, of course). Maybe you could break him and he would finally let you come along in one of his meetings.
“Begging ain't gonna do shit, you gotta work for it, Mikey!”
Sprinting to the other side of the garden of his house, you can feel him sigh exasperatedly and follow you along as he mutters “If I catch you–" in between a breathy laugh.
The wind feels magical against your skin, the cool breeze of the night after a heated summer day gives you goosebumps and yet you feel hot all over; your blood pressure rising with each stride of your run is what keeps you going, laughing nonstop as you stare up the full moon over your head briefly, savouring such a moment that will surely become a core memory of yours.
As you hide behind his motorbike once again, Mikey stops a few feet away from you, the vehicle is the only thing separating your bodies.
“You’re a menace, y/n!”
You shrug at his words, rotating his keys on the tip of your index finger with a proud expression.
“I guess that dating a delinquent made the trick– eek!”
You can't even finish your sentence as Mikey takes a run-up and easily jumps over his CB250T and lands not so graciously on top of you, making you fall on the grass with a thud. The impact doesn't hurt that much though, not when Mikey put a hand behind your head right on time so you couldn't injure the slightest.
He couldn't resist the urge to bring you down and wipe off your face that shit-eating grin and see that cute pout your peachy lips make every time he catches you by surprise. He's a weak man, bear with him.
Pinning you down on the floor he takes away his keys from your hand and smiles toothly: his rosy cheeks and messy hair shine under the moonlight, his obsidian gems staring into your soul easily make you melt and your initial annoyance turns into an amused laugh. He's your angel, no matter what.
“Sorry, what were you saying about dating a delinquent?”
Rolling your eyes at his statement, your smile slowly fades when he gets off you and brushes some grass away from your shirt with his hand, before kissing the top of your head with the soft petals of his lips.
He was going to leave again and that thought screeches inside your brain. It doesn't sit well with you the fact that he's keeping you detached from a big aspect of his life… There's a strong gut feeling that tells you you shouldn't let it slide, you should insist on being part of this area of his life because, if you don't, something extremely bad will happen in the future.
And Mikey sees right through you, he always does, because he loves you and he is connected to your being in every way for respect and admiration.
He feels the intimate bond you two share, he can almost touch that connection, he can feel the burn of the red string that connects the two of you.
He can feel his bones ache under the weight of letting you drown away from him so sad and helpless and whenever he sees your angelic face darken out of worry and fear for him, for the both of you.
He knew why you took the keys away from him that day and he couldn't help finding it amusing and cute... but believe me when I say he's not blind and recognises the desperate attempt to have yourself near him for longer.
Mikey stands up from the ground and offers you his hand to stand up, his calloused hand brushes against your tender palm and holds in a strong and warm hold that doesn't flatter even when you're finally standing.
Staring down at your feet, your voice comes out in a whisper, a loving but pained one.
“Please, be careful Mik–”
“Hop on.”
Your head snaps up, your eyes searching for his out of confusion and then hope.
The two of you are intimate, you understand each other's worries and can feel them within your organs, you can feel each emotion run through your being and resonate like a magnetic wave from you to him and vice versa.
You two are flames that burn for love, with love: your glint should never flatter, you deserve to feel it alive and vibrating.
Mikey smiles at you as he puts his helmet on top of your head and secures it attentively.
“I'll keep you safe, pinkey promise”.
That's your man to you.
I have had this idea bouncing inside my head for a while now! I've been inspired by this post of the sweet @xsleepinggoodx.
I hope you've enjoyed reading it as much as I loved writing it.
English isn't my first language so I apologise for any mistakes!
