If you shipped Whouffle did you go on to ship Whouffaldi or did your ship die with 11′s regeneration?

Thank you so much for answering this. Was interesting to read your thoughts and thought you might wanna read your fellow fans replies also.

tbh my ship startet with 11’s regeneration… Don’t get me wrong, I loved Clara with 11, but it was so easy and they talked a lot. What really got me was Clara’s struggle to accept the Doctor’s new face, how she was finally able to *see* him and all the unspoken love. Two different relationships im my opinion, I prefered the latter:)

Whouffle was a very cute relationship. Clara came to Eleven the moment he needed her the most and gave him new energy and will for adventure. That said. It does not compare to Whouffaldi. The moment Twelve said ''please, just see me'' i was destroyed for life, haven't been the same since.

I lowkey shipped Whouffle. But it was more like a “aww, they’re cute together” or “that is so not a platonic relationship”. When I saw the first filming pictures from Depp Breath, however, I went full Titanic and knew I’d sell my soul to see a kiss happen.

It didn’t even occur to me to ship Clara & 11, for some reason.But at Christmas 2015 Whouffaldi stole my heart, and I’ve never been the same since.

I shipped Whouffle but I don’t recall that I did so intensely; in fact I thought the better match was Eleven and Clara OSWIN Oswald from The Snowmen. However I was fully invested in it, especially from The Crimson Horror (“boop!”) onwards.

When Deep Breath came along I was worried they’d scale it back because of ageism attitudes that were being expressed in fandom and in the media after Capaldi was cast. And then there was PCap’s own alleged “there’ll be no romance” comment (I say “alleged” because I’ve heard tell that was overplayed and I only recently discovered that he was calling Twelve-Clara a romance in interviews as early as the 2014 World Tour). So I had somewhat saddened … until I realized that Doctor Rule No. 1 was in full effect in the final scene with the “I’m not your boyfriend” bit - which at the same time, though, confirmed in canon that Eleven did have those feelings for Clara.

Needless to say, I did NOT like the introduction of Danny Pink and if it wasn’t for the fact I thought Into the Dalek was a cool concept and Listen became, for a time, the best Doctor Who episode of all time in my estimation, I might have turned a bit against S9. But then came Mummy on the Orient Express and the penny dropped and I was away at the races again. But I didn’t become truly intensely Whouffaldi until I got hit with a one-two-three punch at the end of 2014-early 2015: Jenna confirming that Clara’s “I love you” in Mummy was meant for the Doctor; her Doctor Who Magazine cover story (”Clara’s heart belongs to the Doctor”) and Last Christmas. After that, it was full speed ahead. And it reached its zenith with the Raven Trilogy.

I thought Eleven and Clara made a cute couple but Matt just didn’t interest me. Twelve did. It took a while to realize that Whouffaldi was a legitimate concept; I think it was Dark Water that finally sold me.

I second what @randomthunk said. I never really full on shipped 11 and Clara, just kinda sorta? then regeneration and a few episodes in and whoops!!

Different Case, same Software - like, to begin with my view is that the Doctor’s basically essentially the same person throughout his many forms. Also, consistency - I mean when a new Companion is first introduced I don’t particularly care whether or not they’ll get love interestey I just want a good story, but it would just have been inconsistent if 10 & Rose continued right where they left off but the rules were somehow different now, especially with the whole situation in ‘Deep Breath’.

I shipped 11 and Clara really hard. I thought it’d end with his regeneration and then the restaurant scene in Deep Breath made me realise that he was the same man and that only their relationship has slightly changed, being a little bit bumpier for now on… i see this scene like the end of their honeymoon, if i can say it like that! I now ship 12 and Clara even harder.If it helps… Even today my bunch of tags intitled OTP still is: #souffez (i think we are only a few now to use this one) #time...

“Is he still breathing?” Stiles asked, trying to keep his voice level and his eyes on the road.

Beside him, Scott pressed the phone closer to his ear, concentrating, and then nodded. When he noticed Stiles wasn’t looking, he said: “Yeah, I can still hear him, but Stiles… it doesn’t sound good.”

Stiles grit his teeth, but managed to keep his foot steady on the gas. “Lydia?”

“I’m trying,” she said from the backseat, sounding helpless. Allison leaned closer, silent support, and peeked to look at the strange device in her hands. It resembled a compass, but instead of a compass rose, there were random symbols and letters and the needle seemed to spin at random. “I’m still getting used to this thing.  Go left, I think. When you can.”

He took the next left without question, even though it lead to a long lane of nothing, fields and farmhouses as far as the eye could see. Barely a mile down the road Lydia stiffened and pointed to a decrepit farm building in the distance.

“There,” she said firmly. “Derek’s in there.”

Stiles beeped the horn to get the attention of the betas running alongside his Jeep, and pointed toward the crumbling barn with its row of silos. “There!” he shouted out the window, the wind ripping the words from his lips. Even as he said it, the wolves overtook his car and sprinted toward the buildings.

Scott passed Alison the phone with its still-open line to Derek. “Do not crash through the wall this time,” Scott requested to Stiles as he began to climb through the open window, already shifting. He hit the ground running and disappeared after the rest of the pack.

“That was one time!!” Stiles shouted after him.

By the time they managed to get to the buildings and slam the Jeep into park, Stiles could hear the communicative howls of success; they had found Derek. Stiles got out just in time to meet them at the door of the barn as Boyd and Erica dragged a semi-conscious Derek out. His wrists were bleeding black and there was a mark around his neck that said someone had definitely had him collared. Free of the wolfsbane that had almost certainly been around his limbs, his bruises were already healing.

Stiles let out a breath of relief… at least he was alive.

“Come on, get him into the car,” Stiles said, trying not to be in the way while still absolutely being in the way.

Derek lifted his head at the sound of Stiles’ voice. “Stiles?”

“Yeah buddy, I’m here,” Stiles assured him as they attempted to get him into the passenger seat. He reached out and laid a hand on Derek’s cold skin, and Stiles couldn’t help the dread that washed through him at that. Wolves were not supposed to be cool to the touch. “You’re safe, we’ve got you now. We’re going home.”

The nonsense noise Derek made might have been an agreement, and Stiles gave his arm a squeeze before heading around to the driver side door. Whoever had taken Derek, whoever had hurt him,  was going to pay.

how??? you mean like... endgame pairing or central pairing in general?

Ohhhhh, every so often I misread or fail to notice something in the tags that bites me in the ass. You know, the occasional major character death you didn't spot, or one time (quite memorably) a necrophilia tag *shudders*.

Right now I’m reading multiple pairings in a fandom so I’m just going through the fandom tag not pairing tags, reading whatever that isn't the pairings or tropes I'm nope-ing, so that's how I wasn't automatically already in the pairing I thought it would be.  

Apparently I saw the first person’s name from a common pairing in a fic’s tags and assumed it was that most-common pairing without fully reading the character tags since the synopsis looked interesting. I knew it was a slow burn and was going to pair up Person 1 with temporary OMCs for the first part of the story, but it turns out it was also endgame Person 1/OMC and not the more common pairing I was anticipating. It was well written and I enjoyed it, but when I got close to the end and I was like ‘but we like this OMC still, and we still haven't seen Person 2 yet? What’s going on?’ and checked the tags I had to do a little head-desking.
