The gays from Naruto
You know that flashback where Kakashi saves Iruka and little Naruto from a squad of enemy Kunoichi?
I wish it was Anko and Yugao that saved them instead.
Since Anbu like Yugao would've already been tracking that squad, and were a more likely source of backup.
Yugao's often one of the Anbu that protects little Naruto in fanfics, so seeing her doing it in the anime would've been neat.
Yugao assigned to watch over the little danger magnet from then on.
Naruto endearingly referring to Yugao as “Neko-Neechan,” when she's on duty with Anbu, and “Yugao-Neechan,” when she's off duty, or something silly yet cute like “Kitty Sis,”.
Naruto sensing when Yugao's in the room when he's in the Hokage's office, and always saying goodbye to her on his way out.
+ Anko works with the Anbu on jobs like that, and her also showing up to save Iruka & Naruto would be fun.
Imagine Iruka taking Anko out for dinner to thank her, and having to pay a bigger bill than Naruto's after dinner at Ichiraku's.
Naruto bonding with and befriending Anko because, at least in most fanfics, she's a fellow outcast and hated pariah who's faced similar treatment to Naruto following Orochimaru's betrayal and being curse marked.
Big Sisters Anko and Yugao and Little Bro Naruto dynamic.
Playing, learning, fighting and training together and alongside each other, and sticking up for each other when people disrespect them.
Naruto and Anko at Ichiraku ramen, while the Dango shop owner's dining there, having a playful ramen vs dango argument in front of them and Teuchi while Yugao & Ayame are trying not to burst into laughter.
Iruka & Kakashi
Now we get that who's the well-mannered student, who's the delinquent one, and who's the slacker one in a PE study group based on their legs when leaping

My fckin heart😭😭😭😭
Naruto Analyse / theory:
Everyone agrees that Kakashi didnt train his team well. But what would have been a good plan general to train a Genin Team?
A lot of People write what if where basically the same teachings of Jiraiya and Tsunada get replicated by someone else (whoever is in the teaching position). But all they did was teach two Jutsus (Frog summon, rasengan, medical Justus and strength). Ninja have to learn a lot more and here is the basic what should have been teached in the field (i know the academy teaches some things as well, but a lot need outside experience to stick)
The teachings are stretched in 3 steps, since everything cant be learned at once and should be ending with Jonin.
First step: survival (Intelligence) and Defence
This is the most important aspect of a Ninja. Get info and survive long enough to pas it on.
Survival:
- How to cook in the wildness (hunting, what is poisonous, different locations has different foods (sand, mountain, see) where to find drinking water) best case without leaving smoke or traces behind = simply have cooking lessons
- how to track others / read what happened (for example after an ambush, place together who attacked and why)
- hide your own traces = have one team member track the others, the other two have to hide their steps
- political knowledge (not everything is important since you just follow order), but it would be great not to accidentally set of a war or take a shortcut between enemy fronts = not only tell what is going one, but take your genin to those places (show where the line is). Maybe ask questions one why are those party’s fighting or why would a jonin not do that …
- learn who is in the Bingo Book (strong enemy village Ninja or missing Ninja), your own ally’s you can skip, but it would be good to know who to avoid, report on if seen = face question every night
- bind and clean a wound / some basic healing Jutsu for all / what plants could help stop poisoning = they have to get the skill to survive long enough until they get to a person who could help them
- fix clothes
Intelligence gathering:
- people watching / what are their jobs or hobby’s, can you tell?
- can you reconice if you are being followed?
- can you follow other people? / Disguise yourself = have one genin try to spy on the group and see if the other two can spot him
- fake identity with backstory = have your team play other people and see if anyone catches on / can the Genin stay in Character?
- general info taking / awareness = Instructor shadow clones are doing weird or important things in the background / do the Genin catch wind of all?
Defence:
- get fast enough to avoid hits (it is not the same as general speed, more dodge based)
- find openings to get ground between you and your opponent
- how to keep distance (shurikan, foot work, keep environment in mind)
- endurance training (if you get followed after stealing something or are in a long battle)
- setting traps
- general team work = role giving
- genjutsu dispelling and recognizing
- tree and water walking
Second step: attack (now that the genin survive they can attack)
Strength:
- basic training for muscle strength
- weapon training (go into specifics which could be useful to who, example Naruto = daggers, they are more lethal than Kunai and short enough for him to use, while leaving the enemy with more extreme wounds, Sasuke = sword)
- how to use or create openings in an opponent
- how to go for the kill = fake dagger and let the genin hit someone breathing, they have to get the muscle memory of going for the kill and not hesitate when it is about live and death
- how to react if wounded = give them small wounds on unexpected training sessions so they get the muscle memory of dodging instead of freezing up if something like this happens with a bigger wound
= the goal is not to make them pain resistance or unfeeling. But give them the muscle memory to avoid making mistakes in a serious fight
genjutsu (casting weak ones at least)
Ninjutsu:
- one close range (z.B Fire hands)
- one long range (z.B Fireball)
- how to build up a larger Chakra pool
- how to combine it with other skills to make it more useful and not just flashy (z.B sword on fire to increase length when the opponent doesnt expect it)
Third step: Specialisation in one aspect and improvement in everything else
- Good enough to get infos without being seen / get away and track something
- intelligent and aware enough to notice things (disguise)
- can survive on their own (food and Medizin)
- political and enemy understanding
- team work and ruthlessness on enemy’s
- more ninjutsu in general who are more creative (z.B fire tornado or wall)
- weapon skills developed
Special:
- genjutsu casting without problems or notice
- excellent hand to hand fighting throw eather (speed attacks like Minato, strength attack like Tsunade or weapon skills like Kisame)
- chakra beast with multible Ninjutsu Types
In general:
- one summoning technice to at least give info away if you dont make it
- excellent team work not only with their own team, but with whoever the Hokage wants to team them up with (Anbu)
If you teached them all that, they should be ready to become great Ninja. The originally team 7 basically learned none of this.
Suna filler teams
Do you remember the filler arc about the joined and co-sponsored second chuunin exams between Konoha and Suna? Many new teams appeared there. Konohans, we already knew about them, but Sunans were a novelty.
Thing is, why none of them had a jounin sensei? At least not that we saw, which bothered me a bit, hence I took that task upon myself. But before that, let's mention this first because it's related:
This group escorted Temari and Kankuro near the beginning of Shippuden, during the kazekage rescue mission. During a short break for resting, Ebizou told them the story of sandaime's disappearance (ep21).
So, since they were chosen for such an important mission, that must mean they're worth their name, right?... Even if two of them don't actually have one. So I called them Tojuro and Amagi like the ones in the Gaara's novel (though they are NOT those characters, ok?).
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Now that this little bit of info is explained, let's go back to the point!
First filler team, with Tojuro-sensei:
Second filler team, with Maki-sensei:
Yes, I know that Matsuri is technically Gaara's student, but she's in a genin team now! That means she has teammates and obviously a standard sensei, which I doubt is the kazekage himself.
Third filler team, with Amagi-sensei:
Fourth filler team, with Kabuki-sensei:
The name Kabuki obviously comes from one of the famous artistic style of traditional Japanese theatre (the other being Noh, which uses actual masks instead of face paint).
Now, when I ran the names of Goji and Datsuji through the translator, they gave me a meaning of "typo" and "missing", hence I named the third member of the team Tsumiji, which is more or less a "penalty" for incorrect writing.
*(Thanks to @cherrybombshh for reminding me that a reanimated Suna brute existed during the 4º war, ep307. I only remembered poor Daimaru and Pakura...^_^!)
Fifth filler team, with Azusa-sensei:
This kunoichi only exists for half a second, right before Gaara gives his grand speech in the 4th war. Only one panel and that's all -_-! The only remarkable feature of her very simple design is the colour of her lips, hence I called her Azusa (杏沙), with the kanji for "apricot" and "sand". Because apparently there's a species that can survive in the desert? Oh, and she also was Yashamaru's girlfriend in their youth.
The other members are named after their weapon of choice: Tetsubou (鉄棒 iron bar), Yumiya (弓矢 bow and arrow) and Udeki (腕機 arm machine).
And now, last but not least...
This sixth team is not from the chuunin exams filler, they're just a group of abandoned single characters. In fact, Tessa didn't even make it into the anime. But I really wanted Yuura to have a team and also to rescue these poor unimportant youngsters, so... let's say Yuura survived his brainwashing alive and repented from his actions. Everyone deserves a second chance! XD
*(Coloured version of Tessa is from RockRaven-LG).
Well, that was all. Though if you're interested, you can also check out my Konoha extra teams and my Konoha fanon team :-)
