everyone seem to assume that because am middle support need autistic, have cognitive disability, use AAC, and not always able talk "good", that am inherently not able understand sex or consent. does not matter that am adult, that can demonstrate understanding, that like it. people see disabilities, make assumptions without asking--or assume am wrong about own understanding, because poor autistic cognitive disabled girl could NEVER understand sex EVER.

i not want have it in real life, but not all is because of above. very very like writing about, reading about, talking about nsfw stuff. have whole blog for it! have fun talk to mutuals and make posts. (have big 1k+ note post circulating right now even though blog is very very small, even!)

BUT. there are people. see all of mental problems. see that take longer to understand things, see that us would not able to withdraw consent if were to do it in real life because of cognitive disability + autism, and think "oh, M should not engage AT ALL EVER. M is being GROOMED. M is being ABUSED. M not actually able to understand sex. M wrong about able to be understand. M not know what best for her."

am adult! want to enjoy adult things! let me enjoy adult things!! is not like YOU PERSONALLY have to have sex with me if not want to! you are not "savior" that think you are!!! you just involve yourself in stranger's sex life because YOU assume that STRANGER not able to understand because YOU refuse to listen! [muffled frustration screaming]

This is infantilization of MSN autistic people, people who have cognitive disabilities, and AAC users.

cognitive disability for me means i cant really actively make decisions for myself without structured support

these decisions dont just mean what to have for food or what clothes to wear

it also means what to believe, what to buy/if i should buy something, choices about my health, etc

i dont just need help with simple decisions. im an adult now and atp need to make more complicated decisions about complicated things which i cant really do alone

The ultimate irony of the day is my cognitive disability making it impossible for me to understand and express the difference between cognitive disabilities and intellectual disability. Like I know there is a difference, but I cannot for the life of me say what that difference is. Thanks, I hate it.

Why are we ALWAYS leaving out the Disabled community. As a Disabled person, I am so tired of the Disabled Community being left out of Human rights and Identity issues.

Disabled rights are human rights.

Disabled isn't a dirty word and it's apart of our identities.

For this Disability Pride Month, if I can ask for anything, I ask for ACTUAL DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION!!! Leaving the Disabled community is not that <3

A Eurovision broadcast accessible to all, by Amy Spiro

KAN is offering livestreams designed for people with cognitive disabilities, vision loss and hearing impairment.

While many Israelis are die-hard fans of the Eurovision, this year the whole country is getting in the spirit. And as Israel gears up to host its first Eurovision in 20 years, the KAN public broadcaster is making sure that it is accessible to as many people as possible. To that end, it has arranged for three special livestreams during the semi-finals and finals: a broadcast in sign language, an option with enhanced audio description for the blind and visually impaired and a livestream designed for people with cognitive disabilities. All three of the broadcasts will be available on the KAN YouTube channel and on its website during the two semi-finals on May 14 and 16 and the finale on May 18.

To create the accessible broadcasts, KAN turned to experts in all three fields to cater to each specialized audience.

The broadcast for those with vision impairments was created in conjunction with the Center Library for Blind and Reading Impaired People. On that YouTube channel, the action on the Eurovision stage will be described in vivid detail for those who cannot see it.
