soulmate indicators in synastry

firstly, if you haven’t already, gather your partners ACCURATE BIRTH TIME as well as your and head over to astro.com to create a synastry chart for you and your partner. add vertex and descending node to the chart!

1. their north node is in your 7H or your north node is in their 7H. 

north node represents our purpose and destiny in life and our fate. even karma. 

7H is the house of marriage, partnership, soulmate/s

if north node is aspecting personal planets, it also indicates there will be lessons learnt (not straight away, but over time)

to look at what time of lessons you’ll learn; look at whatever planets aspecting the north node and see what house it rules. 

for example; you have mars aspecting north node. mars rules scorpio. take a look at what house scorpio is ruling in the chart. in this example, scorpio is ruling your 3rd house so if mars is squaring north node, you’ll notice the relationship triggers your ability to effectively communicate and to be patients and understanding with that person. 

so, when you have the point of fate in yours or their 7H, it means you’re destined to be with this person. may or may not be a fairytale romance and may come across as a karmic kind of a connection. this could be with friendships too. 

you were destined to learn something from this relationship. 

it won’t be a simple or easy relationship. but has a lot of significance.

 2. their south node is in your 7H or vice vera

south node indicates destiny or fate but the difference between south node and north node is that south node represents past lives; our older habits, what we come into this life knowing very well. 

so, if your south node is in their 7H or vice versa, this indicates you probably had a past life together. very magnetic. 

it’s also very significant. you could feel very entangled in someone else’s energy; when you meet someone and they feel very familiar. 

also may not be a fairytale ending. you’ll both learn from each other. it’s not very easy but will be very impactful. you both have something to teach each other. 

Bonus tip: if you have south/north node in their 12H or vice versa, it has the same effect. 

3. point of vertex 

considered as a second descendent

it is a mathematical point. a point of destiny, fate. 

wherever it is in your birth chart, or whatever planet it is aspecting (especially persona planets*) means at a point of your life it is destined to happen.  e.g vertex conjunct sun means you have a life destiny in terms of identity

if your/their descendent is aspected by 7H ruler. 

eg if your synastry chart has a cancer ascendant then, capricorn will be your descendent. saturn rules capricorn. if the vertex point is aspecting saturn, this means you’ll have a significant encounter with this person. especially in a solar return chart

in your synastry chart, you want to be sure your 5/7/8H ruler is aspecting their vertex or vice versa. this indicates a strong, instant connection. 

if you have point of vertex in their 7H or vice versa, it indicates you’re soulmates. even if you’re friends or there is not romantic connection, it means you were destined to meet that person. 

this connection can be more romantic and playful and less serious or karmic than the first two. 

*personal planets are: sun, moon, mercury, venus, mars 

4. sun and moon connection 

especially conjunction is a great connection but not so much as a soul mate indicator but a pleasant one.

it’s important to look here in your synastry chart to see how well your moon has mixed and mingled with the sun.

feels like true love. 

though some astrologers point out that this only FEELS like tue love, it has a lot of significance (especially if there are aspects to ground this type of a bond) 

venus represents relationships, beauty and aesthetic

this connection is to bring in beauty and magic into your life.

is instant romance. even if a person isn’t normally romantic. 

venus square neptune: 

you could be very blinded by the illusion of love. things get lost in translation. you don’t see someone for who they are (not a bad thing) this could become frustrating or disappointing. but if there are other grounding aspects in the chart, you should be fine. make sure you’re both heading in the same direction with the person. it’s good to keep up to date with what you both want in the relationship.

Opposite signs although different are two sides of the same coin, sharing the same polarity and mode. Neighbouring signs however are not natural elemental blends and are always opposite polarities and different modes. Despite this, there are successful relationships between them, Mercury is always no more than one sign away from your Sun and Venus never more than two meaning it’s highly likely for the majority of people to share one or more of these planets with their neighbouring signs. Do you think a Venus in Scorpio w/cancer mars guy and a venus in libra w/cancer in mars girl would work? How would he show that he liked her? Who’d make the first move?

Sure thing! There will be some issues of course, but nothing is perfect so in the end what’s a little bump or two? There’s a strange and powerful connection between Libra and Scorpio that can’t be denied, but their fundamental needs are quite different. She’s going to need freedom and equality in a relationship while he’s going to want to retain some control… Which can work for a while, but Libra is not the sign to keep taking the short end of the stick and so there’s bound to be conflict eventually (or worse, Libra might ghost or detach for a while which is hell on trust). For a better indicator of compatibility I really recommend looking at the Moon though. It’s much more important in determining whether or not a relationship can work than Mars or Venus. As far as showing affection or interest, he’ll probably go about collecting information about her. Probably not overtly, so it might be a bit sideways or subtle, but the collection of information is usually step one for Scorpio placements. The first move would be… really unlikely for both of them actually. Usually you’d point to the Scorpio placement, but because it’s Venus which is our attractive nature you can’t really make that assumption. Cancer is cardinal yes, but they’re also not the type to make the first move since they’re heavily associated with reception and reaction. They like to feel things out and as such don’t really dive in head first. If a move is ever made though, Mars conjunctions can be really hot. It’s nice when someone just understands your physicality without your having to speak. Do u think the attraction is mutual if a guys Mars is conjunct my moon and Venus and trine my ascendant. Also his Pluto squares my sun but his sun is in my 8th and his moon is in my fourth so I dunno if I'm the only one who feels it but it feels electric!

Yes; any soft aspects (such as conjunctions and trines) between personal planets (sun, moon, venus, mars) are instant mutual attractors. This will be a challenging relationship, but you’ll strangely feel like “home” to him and he’ll bring a deep psychological understanding as well as strong sexual overtones that are felt subliminally.
