Yesterday, I received an email from La Vida Es Un Mus Discos telling me about a sale on their website - 50% off many releases. La Vida Es Un Mus released The Astronauts years ago, and while I'm not a hardcore punk fan, I've always found something on the label that I like.

So, this sale was the perfect opportunity to peruse their sale catalogue. I was immediately smitten by this cassette release from The Carbonators (Croydon, England). Apparently, the band formed in 2011 to perform alongside Damo Suzuki (CAN).

This is gloriously weird pop. I can't help but think of The Nectarine no. 9 or Pere Ubu. This cassette was actually released by Constant Flux. The band continues to make music - their most recent work was released in November 2021.

Retrospective YouTuber believes that “Our 2003 Turtles” will return one day in a future multiverse project. If his speculation turns out to be true, then I’m REALLY glad that voice acting can be done remotely now. 2009 wasn’t there yet.
