If you see this and have a diagnosis, whatever it may be, please know that you are more than your diagnosis. Not only that, but diagnoses exist to help us frame and study a combination of symptoms so a) you are not alone and b) there is hope for improvement. I have a diagnosis that I manage on a daily basis and I get it. I get the questions, the frustration and how limited we can feel by it. But I also know there is strength in it. I have developed coping skills, a support network and a new way of thinking that I might not have otherwise and my life is better for it. Much love. ***as always, these posts are meant to educate and encourage. take what you need and leave what you don’t. social media is not a substitute for therapy*** #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness #selflove #selfcare #copingskills #copingwithanxiety #copingwithdepression #therapistsofig #positivethoughts #affirmations #dailyaffirmations #affirmationsoftheday #mentalhealthrecovery #mentalhealthblogger #mentalhealthtips #mentalhealthwarrior https://www.instagram.com/p/COvIkQMjzWL/?igshid=19wtsnsguxxtt

Four years ago today. • Four years ago today I was in Vang Vieng, Laos. It is one of the most amazing, tranquil places I’ve ever been. We spent a whole week there, and it truly was great. • However, due to my anxiety and restlessness I had a hard time relaxing, despite the perfect surroundings. • At the time, it was filled with coffee shops and restaurants playing episodes of friends, and people lounging around drinking shakes and smoking. • I was going stir crazy from just watching others doing nothing. And as much as I wanted just to lounge around, I couldn’t. • I am an active person who needs to keep busy. And mixed with the anxiety, I just couldn’t enjoy the complete calmness of the place. • That being said, I would probably still go back there in a heartbeat. Although, I’ve heard it’s not the same anymore... • • • How about you? Do you enjoy lounging around on holidays? Has anxiety stopped you from being completely present? • • • • • • • • • • • • • #bloggerscommunity #aspiringblogger #bloggerslifestyle #bloggersofinstagram #vangvieng #vangviengtrip #vangvienglaos #laostrip #fouryearsagoalready #fouryearsago #fouryearsagotoday #travelwriting #writingabouttravel #travelandwrite #writeandtravel #pasttrip #pasttravels #pasttravel #copingwithanxiety #anxietyawareness #anxietyproblems #anxietysupport (at Vang Vieng) https://www.instagram.com/p/CB0vMnfpyod/?igshid=1oa6w0r5juaav
When was the last time you found yourself laughing with your whole body? Or dancing just because? Or feeling like a million bucks? ⠀ ⠀ I remember years of my life when I’d be annoyed by questions like those because I couldn’t remember the last time I had felt happy. ⠀ ⠀ I get a lot of clients asking me my opinions on medications for anxiety and depression. I remind them to talk to their medical doctor because they are here to help! There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking medications to assist with anxiety and depression. Please seek the help you need! ⠀ I just want you to make sure that is not the only thing you are doing to help yourself. Find a professional to talk to, and once you are able, start to build up your self care habits. Medications and therapy can be life changing. Just be sure to combine that with proper diet, plenty of water, adequate sleep, healthy exercise, and daily meditation! ⠀ ⠀ All of those can be difficult to balance, especially when we’re not our best, but seeking the help we need and slowly improving those basic needs can change everything. ⠀ ⠀ You deserve to be happy. Some of us need a little more help getting there. There’s nothing wrong with that. Take your meds, take care of your body and mind. You absolutely deserve to feel better. You deserve to thrive. Thank you for being here 💜🙏💜⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #selfcaresundays #youdesevetobehappy #mentalhealth #copingwithanxiety #copingwithdepression #mentalhealthawareness #youcangetthroughthis #smilingagain https://www.instagram.com/p/B7hxE0sF_-7/?igshid=ro0nmyaey5vj
