My wife has Covid so I’m going to operate under the assumption I am 24 hours away from having Covid (tested negative already today). I’m going to the pharmacy to grab meds and supplies. What should I get aside from the basics? Also welcoming food suggestions since both of us are likely to be out of commission this week
Ok so most of you know I've been out of work with Covid, I was due to go back to work tomorrow but since I'm still symptomatic and tested positive again (having tested negative yesterday) I'm out till at least Sunday. I will have missed 8 days of work by then and I really do live paycheck to paycheck.
I dont have sick time to use and my job has already covered my Covid from February.
If anyone can help at all I am $MissJackiL on Cash App. But a reblog and signal boost can't hurt
So this is about an initiative started by a group in Madhya Pradesh, India who have come together to buy oxygen concentrators for hospitals and patients in rural and semi-rural areas.
It isn't news that India is going through a severe oxygen shortage right now, and even more so in rural and semi-rural areas where the number of people working towards procuring resources is low and monetary limitations higher. Amidst this, this group of (currently) 10 people in Ujjain, MP has been trying to collect funds to buy oxygen concentrators and have been able to obtain 5 yet which have been given to patients and hospitals who didn't have one, free of cost.
They've also helped in setting them up and done follow-ups on the recovery of the affected patients which has been possible because 4 out of 10 of them are junior doctors who're also working alongside the Rapid Response team, an incredible initiative founded by the R. D. Gardi medical college.
But one oxygen concentrator costs about ₹46,000 (around 627$ / 516£) and they need all the help that they can get to keep up the good work.
A single oxygen concentrator can help up to 900 patients, so every little donation helps.
I'm writing this on my sister's behalf since she's one of the doctors who's a part of the group, but I'd be urging anyone to donate and/or signal boost even if I wasn't, cause they're really trying to make a difference with this and I really, really hope that they do.
So please help in any way you can, and that includes signal boosting and sharing!

COVID RESOURCES LINK FOR TAMIL NADU (especially Chennai) AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST
Hey guys, i just wanted to come on here and rant about the covid situation in india for a bit and provide a resource also.
So, it's pretty obvious that the situation in India is absolutely appalling. There's a LOT of posts by other people, even on my own dash that explain the situation far better than i do, so please go check them out if you haven't already, but there's one particular thing i wanna talk about.
It's the fact that a lot of high-school students, around ages 15-18 are coming together and doing a LOT of work to help spread information and resources about contacts and suppliers of oxygen, remdesivir, testing centers, and things like that. I'm in a whatsapp group like this myself and i know just how much work these people are doing so that they can spread the CORRECT information. And while what they're doing is good, its just so SAD to see literal CHILDREN. TEENAGERS. STUDENTS MY AGE. having to step up and do the jobs that adults and especially our "leaders" are supposed to be doing. It is so frustrating and maddening to see the desperation and the necessity that is driving this. They're spending hours a day calling people, collecting different resources and suppliers, verifying these suppliers, contacting offices and corporations and businesses to see if they can provide any help. I'm so glad that we are stepping up to do what we must, but i am simultaneously fuming at everyone who's allowed the situation to escalate to this extent.
I'm sharing a link to an instagram page that has a linktree for a lot of resources in TAMIL NADU, especially around CHENNAI. From what i know, it's run by highschoolers but it's info is pretty up to date and good. Its an insta link but it's public so you don't even need an account the resources are free to check. PLEASE do share even if you don't live around Tamil Nadu, it's so important to get this to as many people as we can.
This is the link for the page
Normally I don't care about how many notes i get but this is possibly my most important post yet so I'm tagging some ppl, moots or no doesn't matter. (No pressure or obligation of course, you don't have to, but if you want to,please share it)
hi im Ori, the sole breadwinner for my family, and i got covid at the end of June. after quarantining myself for a month i was cleared for work and it all went downhill from there. due to repeated severe upper respiratory infections, including pneumonia, and severe fatigue, body aches, and shortness of breath i have been out of work on disability insurance since the end of August. because of a fuck up on the DI office's part, i never received the paperwork to continue my DI and so my payments after 10/11 will be delayed. i need to stock up on several OTC meds not covered by my insurance and possibly a respirator due to the smoke from the local fires.
my partner has not been able to find work since the end of 2019. they do not have insurance and we desperately need to get them to a doctor so we can continue getting their medications and HRT.
my best friend @dresdenthemaenad is stuck in Alabama w their family and we're still trying to move them here to California to live w us. they are currently out of work as they just moved to AL and spend most of their time assisting their younger brother w online school.
my partner and i are applying for rent and utility assistance through our city but it is a lottery system so we have no guarantee of receiving any funds. please donate and share as much as you can 💜 our gay little family appreciates all the help we have received so far.
