The crisis engulfing more than 500 schools and universities involves many underage victims.
Just found about about the FiMFetch debacle.
Basically, the operator of an MLP fanfiction archive not only deleted all "foalcon" related stories from the archive, but also went on a moral crusade to call out as many people who create and/or consume this content as they could find.
Their definition of what counts as "foalcon" turned out to be incredibly broad, and includes aged up depictions, non-sexual stories that just happen to be marked as mature, and even artwork of adults that just happens to have the "younger" tag. (i.e. the elderly Granny Smith as a young mare)
At least one artist was put on the list, not because of anything they actually drew as most of their work is SFW, but because of NSFW edits of their artwork that they did not create.
And the cherry on top of this whole shitshow? A discord screenshot was leaked where this righteous moral crusader admitted to having, in their own words, "a weakness for Scootaloo" when sent an explicit image of the character.
Just want to make it clear that I don't like foalcon myself, and to be fair, some of the people on the list were also alleged groomers, and at least one person had actually been arrested by police for possession of CSEM (presumably REAL CSEM), but why am I not surprised that the person who went on a moral crusade against fictional smut turned out to be a projecting hypocrite with a taste for chicken?
EDIT: It has come to my attention that the artist in question has drawn some explicit works, none of which involve underage characters. They are still on the list because of an edit featuring their artwork, not because of anything they drew themselves.
I don't think "what they don't know can't hurt them" is actually a good argument anywhere ever but especially so when it's about people who are writing rape/incest fetish content of celebrities and their 6 year old children
Like... do you people hear yourselves speaking? Like actually? Or do you just shut your brains off and bash wildly on your keyboard hoping someway you'll come up with a reason as to why you aren't a predator?
"Kids are allowed to write erotica of the characters they're attracted to" ao3's TOS states you have to be at least 13 to use their site, so why are people writing fetish content of (again, real life) 6 year olds and younger?
If a 13 year old is attracted to a real life 6 year old and fantasizes about them having sex with their parent where the 6 year old in question is brutalized beyond that, then that 13 year old needs serious help and not a bunch of slimy "fandom mommies" and proshitters telling them that what they're doing is actually GOOD FOR THEM and NORMAL.
once again i hope every person who donates money to a website that hosts cp and incest rather than giving it to the countless people with donation posts that go ignored die painfully and slowly
antiship culture is being so fucking annoyed by proshitters losing their shit over "OH NOOOOO THE NEW BOARD MEMBER IS GONNA DO CEENSORSHIP" because its always so apparent they dont care about protecting lgbt relationships in fanfiction online like they claim to and theyre just pissy and panicking over the prospect of their rampant cp posting being somewhat moderated
literally "oh nooo our pedophile site is gonna ban pedophilia guys we have to stop this" get a fucking GRIP
.
I used to get kinda annoyed with the people who get REALLY hard into being “anti ship” because my first exposure was people telling me that a ship that had I think like a 19yo and a 17yo (I don’t remember specifically) was ped0philia? And these were characters that didn’t initially have canon ages, so most of the fandom thought they were the same age. I was like 13 at the time so it totally enraged me that I was regularly being told my fun little ship was endorsing ped0philia. But now that I’m older I have critical thinking abilities and I can tell that a lot of those people were just doing that whole “I don’t like __ for personal taste reasons, but I must find a moral reasoning to justify why I dislike it” thing, and I can also tell that most people who are anti ship are just people that aren’t fucking freaks.
I suspect some people who talk about like “understanding both sides” are people with experiences similar to mine, but they need to realize that “pro ship” people are genuinely ok with people viewing genuine crimes against humanity as romantic and sexy. Also like, I think some so called fence sitters don’t get that there is a difference between people who are like “no, we do not need to burn every copy of Lolita,” or even “I write about dark stuff to deal with my trauma and you should not find this sexy,” and the people who are like “it’s ok to write CP that you find sexy and want other people to find sexy.” It’s only the last thing that pro shitters are genuinely advocating for.
Yeah like I don't doubt there's some people who use that just to defend their fandom stuff & it can get stupid. I don't like calling myself "anti" because 1. I'm literally just normal, & 2. I'm not using stupid terminology fandom freaks came up with lol. I don't really mind if other ppl use it for themselves but for me I think it's stupid. There also seems to be some confusion as to what these terms mean sometimes (even in fandom circles) & again, that's partially because of the fandom weirdos self victimizing with the terminology to make it seem more innocuous than it is.
like. i am a victim of cocsa. bc the person who hurt me read fanfic like that where both participants were underage and thought that me saying "no" actually meant "yes". fiction does in fact affect reality dipshits LISTEN TO VICTIMS AND STOP JERKING IT TO CSEM LITERALLY GET OFF THE GODDAMN INTERNET
well you are a staunch defender that things depicting children in drawings is fine and dandy and we should collectively just avert our eyes, but surely theres a limit to that? surely we cant just have it be the wild west out there where people can just get their rocks off to whatever no matter who it hurts?
Don't exaggerate anon. It's not exactly the wild west out here. Most websites outright ban the posting of pornography, and with some exceptions, you'll have to go to a website that specializes in hosting adult content if you want to see that.
Fanfiction websites have age ratings and filters for their stories, so it's very easy to just filter out content that makes you uncomfortable. In fact, some sites will outright hide adult stories by default.
My stance on the matter is that writers and artists should be allowed to write and draw whatever they please, so long as they aren't depicting real children in sexual situations. I am in favour of artistic freedom.
Personally, loli/shota and Rule 34 of child characters makes me uncomfortable, and I'd rather not see it. But I'm never going to pretend that it's anywhere near the same level of depravity as someone sexually abusing a real child, and to claim that it is is massively disrespectful to anybody who's ever had to go through that experience.
