Unintentionally creepy Higuruma? Anyone?
It's not like he does it on purpose.
He works at least twelve hours everyday, and it's visible in his too-far trimmed nails that he cuts obsessively because they just keep chipping, or in the sagging, blotchy eye bags he has, and the three empty chewing gum containers in his trash. The last three days he's spent on a liquid diet of coffee, and he needs those to conceal his bad breath (He flosses and brushes two times a day, it's just that, well, coffee breath smells).
So yes, he is exhausted, and so when he just sits in his chair during midday break and stares ahead, Higuruma is far too gone to realize what he is looking at. Ten minutes have passed, and you are breaking a cold sweat because your business partner has been gawking at you, and you don't think he's blinked yet.
You keep tucking at your shirt, but it is sitting just right, so you check your face with your selfie camera. Nothing. What is he staring at? You can see his chest rising high and falling deep, and with the wide-blown eyes that focus on nothing at all but very pointedly on a spot on your neck, you reminisce about the creepy guys crowding around bus stops at night. Your skin itches.
You haven't known him for long, the only reason you agreed to share an office with each other was because you needed a way to stick it to your old boss, and it was more comfortable for him to open a law firm if it was funded by two. So no, aside from the fact that you knew he has a thing for strange cases, you don't know the guy. Only that he was creepy.
When he makes a particularly loud breathing noise you decide that break is early. You save the file you were working on and shut the laptop, rising to your feet and rush to the door. "I'm taking my break. Be right back."
No response. When you open the glass door, you can see in the reflection that he is still just staring.
What the fuck. Despite your camera confirming you look alright, you head straight for the bathrooms to check again. A notification beeps on your phone as you round the corner, and you push the first door you reach open without looking.
Just came back from the cafe, you want anything?
You stand in the doorway of the toilet and text back, Just something sweet, please. I'll pay you back later.
Now, you pocket your phone and look up, only to realize the toilet stalls are on the left, not the right- was this the men's room? And why are there a toothbrush and toothpaste! One look at the door, it's indeed the men's stall, but you are too irritated to feel embarrassed. Higuruma is the only male employee (not a particularly strange achievement, you are a team of three with Shimizu), which meant this stuff was his.
Was he fucking sleeping here?
