Meet @this_is_my_fight_song (Shane.) I started on February 13, 2017 because I was fed up with being so overweight. I have two kids, a wife who likes to eat healthy, and I was close to 300 lbs. At my highest I was 310 lbs and I felt that I could never, ever, ever lose weight. I was discouraged, sad, and too far from my goal to think I could ever do it. But this year I decided that that was over. No more excuses. The first few months, I went to the gym 4-5 times a week, I ran, I ate healthy, I noticed weight loss pretty quickly. I tried to stay away from fad or quick-fix things like pills, strict diets, etc. because I was going for longevity. I wanted to give up SO MANY times, but I remember people saying who had gone through this before, "Just be consistent. Don't give up. You'll get there." So I stuck with it. I recently started CrossFit and have fallen in love with that style of fitness. It's fun, challenges you, very community based, and I've noticed a LOT of change in my body since I started. I've lost 62 lbs since February and 82 lbs overall, but I'm not stopping here. Starting tip: JUST START! You don't have to have it all planned out. Just make a plan that works for you and modify it as you go along. Starting is the hardest part.
