Iced Monkey I would like to Frappe a Latte...
Sorry, I can't behave myself with this one, they basically peered into my soul when making this guy.
Cryomancer headcanons
- Cryomancy in particular has a long history of being exploited to cause mass slaughter. As a result, its users are heavily feared as a “harbinger of doom” and are seen as abominations. In some areas of outworld, exposure of cryomancy abilities would mean being targeted and in some cases, death. Due to this, the number of cyromancers out there are dwindling - those who do have this ability often times conceal it.
- Cryomancers are considered to be on the brink of extinction.
- Giving birth to a cryomancer always tends to cause some kind of “mania” in their mothers. It’s been observed that women who were completely healthy and loving before birth would go into severe, debilitating post partum depression OR become extremely overprotective of their children. The reasoning for this is unknown but it’s been theorized that it’s associated with the amount of sheer energy it takes to nurture a child with cryomancy.
- Cryomancers sweat something very chemically similar to antifreeze. This not only keeps their bodies from freezing but it also acts as a lubricant so their skin is tougher to cut. The antifreeze also helps prevent friction from quick movements.
- Most fighters tend to be at a disadvantage the longer they stay in Articka - the cold is so harsh that staying there for long periods of time will slow down the fighter and make it so that they can’t move normally. Cryomancers being virtually unaffected by the environment of Articka is a major benefit in battle - they have the advantage of home turf where they can move naturally in a way the other fighter can’t
- Kuai and Bi-han tend to try to avoid drinking too much alcohol out of concern that they’ll lose control of their cryomancy.
- The source of a Cryomancer’s power comes from their hydration levels. In hot environments or in cases of dehydration, the ice that they produce becomes brittle and fast melting. They have to consume lots of fluids.
- The chance of a child inheriting cryomancy from their parents is rare and not always guaranteed.
- Ancient legend has it that the cryomancers of old were raised by ice dragons. There’s some evidence that supports this, such as cryomancers and ice dragons sharing a certain gene and them having the same dietary preferences. In Articka, they’re commonly referred to as “Tundra dragons.”
"You always mimicked me ... but you make a poor Grandmaster."
Fire and ice. The pain of one mirrors the pain of the other. He suffers, yet learns to endure. It will be soon. -- Mortal Kombat Conquest TV series, episode: Cold Reality
Just a drawing of Sub-Zero I wanted to post before February ends.
No much to say though, but this is a scene from the 2021 film, except Sub-Zero is in his MK9 outfit.

Flametongue is a really good magic weapon to reskin when making an elemental item. Here's an item I gave our barbarian in one of my campaigns.
