A fun little Nyon tradition thingy
When ever there was a new carrier who was in need of help in raising their sparkling, a small group of either close friends or experienced carriers often came to their aid. They would all share the burden of raising the sparkling by washing, feeding and teaching them.
Older carriers who were still producing milk rich energon would take turns feeding the bitty. Often when the carrier was either too busy or tired to do it themselves. As well as helping out with household tasks.
Amicas or friends would often be tasked with teaching and playing and could often been seen with an array of toys or fun little learning games for the sparkling to play with.
Lastly any older sires would help the new sire by teaching them how to protect and provide for their growing family. They would spend hours or even days making sure the home was safe and suitable before proving even more soft blankets fabrics to add to the carrier's and sparkling's nest.

Roddy would do this for Drift!!!
Drift isn’t sure what he should do for his & Ratchet’s sparkling let alone where to start since his home was not..sparkling friendly by any means.
Ratchet isn’t much help since his people were more stand offish in raising a sparkling, more intellect based than anything. Emotional bonds aren’t exactly a common household thing where he’s from but their bitty isn’t like ratchet emotionally, he’s like Drift who needs emotional support.
And Roddy is a shocking hero to the rescue when it comes to it.
To roddy this is nothing hero-like or prime-like.
And he hasn’t felt home in a very, very, very long time.
Its normal for him to help Drift learn to sparkling feed, change waste wraps and empty his fuel lines before they begin to cramp and painfully hurt.
He doesn’t expect anything nor have to be asked to clean the hab for Drift or Drift and the bitty themselves when he notices how tired Drift is both before & after healing from emergence.
He doesn’t think anything of it when picking up the bitty so Drift can have alone time and relearn himself through meditation and getting some well deserved sleep.
To Rodimus its completely normal and expected.
Cyclonus, Whirl and Tailgate tell Drift Rodimus did the same for them without asking for anything in return and Cyclonus lets Drift know the old ways of Nyon that he remembers.
“Love was a cultural staple among the Nyonians just as it once was among my people, though different. Love is helpful in both.”
Drift has a new outlook and appreciation for Rodimus and tries to notice the things he hasn’t before. Like how Rodimus, despite how long its been since the war ended and everyone aboard the lost light and cybertron, mostly, have sparklings now.
And yet he still doesn’t.
Rodimus doesn’t offer Ratchet any teachings because he isn’t sure how it would go or come off and he is no sire mech.
He’s never been a sire and he isn’t built to sire.
He’s a carrier mech that doubted he would do any good carrying or raising life.
He could help, it was in his nature and ran through his cna as a Nyonin.
So of course he would help his amica when he needed it, even if he didn’t, Roddy would jump to help just because.
But he would never and could never hope to have a sparkling, simply because there was no other bot that would get it. None would understand like he did since he was the last of Nyon.
There are cultures that come close and were just as loving as his, but he wasn’t likely to find that.
Their race was not a physical and loving one, which is why Nyon was such an odd seeming community because they closed themselves off from outsiders seeing that side of them.
It was like finding a miracle to Roddy when he saw how loving Optimus was towards his sparkling Bee. Even more a miracle when Bee kept it going with his own.
But Roddy didn’t think he’d find that for himself.
Not when he felt he didn’t deserve it.
It’s a good thing there’s a red optic mech who wants to show him 👀
I’m sorry my brain went all over the place with this one!
I really like it and i just know Roddy sets up a comfortable nest for Drift to recover in that neither Drift nor Ratchet thought would be comfortable or useful.
