idk if it was intentional on Geoff Johns' part but having Earth be the hiding place for the Life Entity and the origin of life in the universe is also a retroactive explanation for why so many alien species look similar if not downright identical to humans and can interbreed with them
it might not necessarily be a good explanation, but it's better than none at all
seriously though, even the races that aren't overtly human-but-with-mild-cosmetic-differences in design like Bolovaxians or Martians still have similar tetrapodal body structure
