the outsiders 2003 #34
Soooo why does no one talk about how Jason (Post-Crisis to Flashpoint Era) in his brief appearance in Outsiders, had a good guy moment? Just because he could.
I mean yeah, he and Dick fought before the convo happened, but no one actually tried to kill one another there.
This story was released shortly after Damian comes to Gotham, and the issues actually came out on the same day as the Mia story "Seeing Red", both written by Winnick. But this is apparently supposed to take place early in the one year time skip that happened right after UtRH.
So I guess we assume this is sometime shortly after Jason's recovery.
Even more curious is that both Winnick stories were released 6 months after that horrendous Nightwing arc no one ever spoke of again.
DC sure liked to rush Winnick back in to save him anytime another writer took him in a direction people hated to see- at least until the New 52 anyway...
Of course Dick is like "Fuck, of course it's Slade. Have to deal with him and Jay at the same time, what have I done to deserve this?"
So Jason was basically like "Ah hell... innocent hero is in prison for a murder he didn't commit, and Dick is gonna be all angst about it. Better go tell him- he can do all the heavy lifting about it and I've done my good deed for the year."
😂❤️😭
ROY HARPER READING ORDER
For those who, like me, when they like a character they need to read every single comic the character appears in, I have compiled a list of all of Roy Harper’s appearances from his first team-up with the Teen Titans up to the 2011 Flashpoint reboot (not including New 52 continuity).
And there’s also the extended list (including cameos) as a spreadsheet.
The character of all time
My personal Dick Grayson headcanon TM is that he’s OBSESSED with making bulletin boards with photos and collages with all his friends and family. He has one for the Titans, one for the Outsiders, one for both Babs and Kori respectively (no matter who he’s with he’s still really close with the other), one of those really small ones for Bruce as a joke, and one for each of his siblings (Jason’s is half pics of him as Robin and half Red Hood, just cause Dick loves them both)
just read Outsiders (2003) #11...hashtag..thinking....(gay thoughts)
The 2019 outsiders team is so fun like you have Black Lightning and Duke who can relate and reminisce on growing up black in the US and then you have Cass and Tastu who are both East Asian but Tatsu was raised in Japan with a normal enough family and Cass was raised as lab experiment. Her favourite food is a 3lb burger topped with 8 slices of bacon, 4 slices of cheese, 4 eggs and a mound of french fries. She knows her mom is from China but culturally it means nothing to her other than another thing Cain deprived her of. Picturing Tastu desperately trying to find something to bond with Cass over that isn't martial arts and struggling until through a stroke of luck she finds out they both watched the big bang theory when they first came to America.
Duke and Jefferson take so much psychic damage from this because guys the big bang theory sucks can you not find anything better to bond over. Cass if you say bazinga one more time during a fight we're benching you. Tatsu stop encouraging her surely you have better TV shows you can recommend to her.
It unfortunately sticks for them. Every time they meet up they watch it at their base. Duke has now seen at least 20 episodes and he hates that so much.
Cass: If you want us to watch something else Tim recommended a show called it's always sunny?
Duke:... So what's Penny up to this episode? She and Leonard still going strong?
Kate Kane, Batwoman, former soldier, anxiously hovering by the one person at the party she can talk to
