Kaz Brekker is such an anomaly. Is he a well-written, well-rounded character? Yes. Did he learn his lesson in the end? No. Did he become either better or worse? No. Did he grow as a person? You could say that. Do we have even a remote understanding what he will do next? Absolutely not.
Being a member of the Six of Crows fandom, every time I read the phrase 'Brick by brick' I'm only reminded of the empire of Pekka Rollins that I have to bring down, along with my band of six traumatized and dramatic teenagers.

one of my favorite things about kaz is that he's such a smart character. i feel like a lot of books say a character's smart and proceed to never show it. kaz? bro has an arsenal of brain cells and uses every single one. he either knows OR IS RESPONSIBLE for literally every plot twist in the series. like when i hear about his plans and stuff, i need to take a minute just to appreciate how smart it is. what i wouldn't give to be as clever as him

Matthias, with a light under his chin: many years ago a demon cursed this place
[two years earlier]
Kaz: fuck this house
