What a terrible design.
"The moral design of nature is as bungled as its engineering design. What twisted sadist would have invented a parasite that blinds millions of people or a gene that covers babies with excruciating blisters? To adapt a Yiddish expression about God: If an intelligent designer lived on Earth, people would break his windows." -- Steven Pinker
The people who make the claim of "design" don't know anything about how the world actually functions.
Just browsing the Peter Pan section of the Disney shop website (Peter Pan has always been my favourite Disney film ❤️) and spotted this cute mug but I err…spotted a design flaw. Disney, you might want to change it a bit 😬😅
So, I love Attack On Titan. I’ve watched all three seasons, and I am happily anticipating the fourth. BUT. There’s one thing that’s always bugged me... The setup/design for the walls. I feel like it could have been a bit better. Like, tactics are a thing, even when it comes to general civilization-survival planning. ... Especially when it comes to general civlization-survival planning. Minor spoilers ahead, if you have not watched the last few episodes of season 1!
See, there’s a couple major problems I noticed with the design for the walls the second I saw the map of the walls in the very first episode. First: As soon as one wall is breached, the entire section of land contained within that circle becomes compromised. Second: There isn’t really any good way to travel between one wall and another for, say, delivering messages and supplies, or transporting troops, or whatever else you might think of regarding that sort of thing. Now, maybe this is a silly idea, and/or maybe this idea would have been difficult to carry out, particularly since the walls are made from thousands of Titans all squished together. But! I had an idea that I think would have made the walls work better, tactically. Let me know what you think. :) The biggest flaw I see in the wall design, is that the moment a wall is breached in one spot, the ENTIRE area inside that wall’s territory is lost because there is nothing to stop the Titans. To counteract this, I think it would make more sense if the circles of the walls themselves were broken into halves, thirds, or quarters. (I think breaking it into more than quarters would be impractical, just because you don’t want to be taking up huge sections of the available land with a bunch of extra walls within the territory) Like with spokes in a wheel-- if a wheel were made up of a single ring, with nothing supporting it on the interior, then as soon as the wheel is broken, it is likely to crumple completely because the wheel no longer has any support. However, if a wheel has bars running through it, giving it support from the inside, then even if the wheel splits at some point, it still won’t be completely broken. If there were connecting walls running between Wall Maria and Wall Rose, between Wall Rose and Wall Sina, and running through the middle of Wall Sina, then the Titans would have had to break through not just one wall to get to the entire territory of Wall Maria, but four. Same with Wall Rose. Which means, if they used this setup for all three walls, then the Titans would have to breach twelve walls in order to reach the entirety of the Walled Territory. Since the titans only broke through Wall Maria on That Day, I’m guessing they would have only broken one wall in this hypothetical scenario too. Which means, if the walls had been set up in the way I’m describing, then the Eldians would have only lost one fourth of the territory inside Wall Maria, instead of the entire thing. Lots of people would have still died of course, and the rest of Wall Maria’s people would have had to be on their guard, but the majority of the territory would still be available, which means the food shortage would’ve been less of a problem. This would also help solve the second (but less pressing) problem I noticed, by giving the Scouts a means of travelling between the Walls with less of a chance of being eaten. If they used the “spokes”/go-between walls as bridges, then they could send troops over the tops of the walls and pick a starting point closer to where they needed to go. Just. There’s so many things that could be solved if the original builders (or well, since it’s a work of fiction, the author *coughcough*) had implemented this one thing.
I was on fb and saw this company was selling shirts with a design flaw 🤣
Can we talk about who tf designed this bathroom stall??
It opens inward and you have to squeeze into the space by the side of the toilet bowl to close it?? And the other wall has the tp dispenser so you have to wiggle into the side where the door opens?? I’m a tiny human and I barely fit with a backpack on...
Here it is, my rundown on all the important aspects of structures in Minecraft, and an explanation of why when you go out looking for exciting activities in the exploration world, you probably won’t find them.
Some of these boxes are subjective, but the data is very much real. We don’t have enough structures that you can find whenever you want to explore, don’t expect diamond armour of the player, have good combat, and are overall worth the effort taken to get there. Structures should be about wonder and excitement and challenge, not about the journey it takes just to get there, or the fact that you’ll build a farm out of it.
The solution to exploration boredom is a couple of things that are standing right behind Mojang’s back.
