I know that its been a minute since ive posted anything onto this blog, so i thought it would be a good idea to re-introduce myself.

My name is Eli. Im 20 years old, and studying early childhood education. Ive had type 1 diabetes for nine years. It was a really traumatic diagnosis, involving a central line (basically they put an IV in my neck. Twice. I have scars), multiple nurses holding me down and a several week recovery period. It was great.

I would really love to be more active in the t1d community here on tumblr because i dont know anyone outside of this site who has diabetes.

I dont think that sideblogs can follow other people, so i'll more than likely follow you on my main blog, @thedevilmademedo1t ,which Is just full of nerdy stuff and my current hyperfixations.

Anyway, feel free to ask me things, or just strike up a conversation!

I love Mary Bonnet. I really want her to somehow be in the second season (i know she wont be but i can dream).

She and Stede are honestly a great (platonic) pairing. Once they aired their grievances with each other we got to see them team up and do The Most for Stedes “faked death fuckery”. I want them to have a great relationship going forward, but i also know that Stede is “dead” and Mary is moving on with the life she created for herself (love that for her).

Just. Mary as a reluctant sailor who gets up to shenanigans with her ex husband whenever they meet up on the high seas.

Did i have a point? I dont remember.

Its shocking to me how much one letter can change something. For example:

Auguste: beloved big brother to Laurent, gone from this earth too early. A good man who would have saved Laurent from all of the trauma if he could have. RIP

Ive seen some people who are upset over the good omens 2 ending. Understandable. But yall.

Without being too spoilery (who am i kidding everyone has seen it already anyway), they did the thing. The thing that i didnt actually think they were going to do. It made me cry both happy and sad tears at the same time because seeing these two anthropomorphic personifications Do The Thing that means so much to so so many people is astounding and beautiful and ive watched the whole season four times already.

I genuinely never thought that they would do the thing. They expressed their love for eachother through this entire season and i was still gearing up to be disappointed (not queerbaited. I have more faith in Neil Gaiman than that).

The actors are completely serious and respectful about the arc, in fact, theyre happy that this is the direction their characters are going in.

I have spent 20+ years on this earth without seeing the representation that we have had in the past two or three years alone. This adds to that tally, and while i am sad about how the show ended for the season, im so happy as well. And excited for what comes next.

So yes, you may not like the ending. It ended in an awfully sad place. But its still such a step forward in the kind of media that is being produced.

I dont know where exactly i was going with this, but i needed to get it out.

I saw you love red, white, and royal blue and I've just gotta ask you: have you heard of Burn the House Down by Kenna Jenkins? It's an alternate history novel abt the 1st woman president and her secret sapphic relationship/bearded marriage with her mlm best friend. It also includes a subplot about arson at the White House, ft. An entirely queer main cast and really fleshed out characters, and has a really satisfying ending!

So im rewatching 6.11, as ya do, right?

Has there been anything about the camera angles in the episode? Throughout bucks entire coma dream, theyre funky and awkward and shifty. Until buck realizes that being himself is enough and he tries to get back to the real world. Then the angles were back to normal and steady and entirely the same as they were for the secondary story thats happening outside of his head.

I dont think i have a point here, but i thought it was cool 🤷‍♂️
