To much disability horror makes the disabled person the monster/villain. Here are some more creative concepts stemming from my own experiences

Protagonist losing partial or complete control of their body and not being able to do anything about it

Protagonist watching their body change into something horrible and permanent (a classic!)

Protagonist finds they have a mental block and are no longer able to write or read

Protagonist gets extreme injury only watch as it gets infected and spreads to their entire body while they are forced to continue with life as if nothing happened

Protagonist is partially possessed by a demon but no one believes them

Mute protagonist who can’t use their hands witnesses horrors and can’t get help or tell anyone about it

my friend and i made a game for the toxic yuri vn jam. it's a short narrative eroguro about what self love even means as a disabled person, written and conceptualized by two people with hEDS.

i hope people can read it and feel a little seen.

I need more horror based on disability where it's the perspective of a disabled person, the horror of autonomy loss, how you're an adult and people insist on treating you like a child, look for someone caring for you instead of speaking to you directly, people "helping" without asking, being shut out from society, being infantilized constantly, being ignored and spoken over in conversations about YOU

Thinking of the time I was at a highschool writing camp and one of the guest instructors asked “Can you imagine not being able to write anymore?” As a way to sort of gauge our passion or something

Except I was just like “yes?”

I literally lost the ability for two months due to a medication messing with my brain. When I tried to write I’d mix up letters or entire words, it really freaked me out. Writing was one of my biggest coping mechanisms at the time and in an instant it was just gone.

It’s interesting to think I’ve survived other peoples nightmares. I’ve lost the ability to indulge in my passions, and I just had to deal with it, find new ways to express myself until the storm rolled over

I have no conclusion to this story. I don’t think myself superior for experiencing something so horrible. It just strikes me that what others think of as a scary hypothetical to me is a very real experience.

Someday I wish to write something that makes people understand the horror of watching your very mind degrade, of realizing that you can’t even write anymore without struggle, of getting lost in halls you’ve walked a thousand times before, of reaching into the thick fog placed over your thoughts and pulling out nothing at all.

It only got that bad for two months, but I will never forget the horror of realizing I couldn’t even trust my own mind anymore.
