Delta: How are you going to do your hair for the wedding?

Dixie: I'm not sure... but whatever I do, it should be extravagant - making the most of my hair before I shave it all off!

Harry: Wow. You look... wow...

Dixie: Thanks - you're not too bad yourself.

Homer: Still as stunning as the day I married you!

Beulah: You didn't believe me then that a coloured dress was a better option than white, did you - but I told you I could wear it again and again and again!

Mary and Eden are here, in their matching dresses.

It's Wedding Time at the Lands'!

VeronaHills, Round Twenty Five: Sharpe (Beach)

It was a long road to the arrival of Zea Land.

Trina went over the bones of it with her therapist: she still had flashbacks of choking on acrid smoke and hearing screams of the others at the Montague house fire. She might always feel that horrid heat every so often, even when life was good. But she didn't want to pass any trauma on to baby number two, so she was working on her grounding techniques, like wrapping her fingers around a soft plushie that would soon be the baby's favourite. That worked, until it didn't.

Nobody expected to see Dixie like that, crumpled under the kitchen table. She'd only just gone for a morning walk to the beach and back. It broke Trina's heart and bruised her soul that Marsh was the one who came across the scene first; she was going to need to talk to the therapist about a child specialist to unpack that. Why was life so cruel, over and over and over?

Zea was born in the very same kitchen that aunt Dixie suddenly died in. That became the family's comfort: a new Land woman would be taking on the world, first in toddled steps, later in confident strides. It was what Dixie would want the family to celebrate. She would also want her son, Wilbur, to fall in love with whoever he wanted to, and so he did, with a goth boy named Karmos who only came over to hang out after dark. There were so many unanswered questions and regrets as to not asking after her health, but prayers were uttered that Dixie knew her children and her family would be okay, and she would be reunited with Edwin (perhaps bittersweetly, given his side ambition with Mary).

In addition to Zea's arrival, River adopted a dog as another new family member to focus on. Riley was old and had been waiting a while; it was very much in the Land family spirit to embrace him.

Dixie hoped to make amends with Virginia by baking a sweet berry pie, but that did not pan out.

A Brief Montage: The Truck Stop, feat. Muffy Landgraab

For some reason, I thought I needed to document the process by which Muffy Landgraab (local real estate mogul who has only become slightly less evil after transing her gender) set up the Strangetown Truck Stop.

She hired as many local teens as she could get her hands on... most of whom are just kids looking to get out of the house for any amount of time, and don't really care about specifics.

Ripp Grunt, in particular, is happy to have the part time job, but is #processing his parents' divorce to anyone who will listen.

Unfortunately, the party runs long and only when people leave does Dixie realize that the pole beans are ripe. "So I'll be a little sleepy at work tomorrow."
