Do you guys ever think about this?
In DMC3 Dante and Vergil were 19. The game came out in 2005 so they'd be born in 1986 in a normal timeline.
In DMC4 Dante was suddenly 38, which woule make him be born in 1970 while Nero was 19, which would have made him be born in 1989 when the game came out. What also would have meant either Vergil got him when he was 3 in 2005 timeline or 19 in 2008 timeline - what doesn't work as well since the special edition of 4 is 20 years before actual 4 - in 1988 - WHERE HE WAS 1 in our timeline.
Lastly, with 4 it gets funnier because now as a 25 year old Nero would finally be a 90s kid (1994) and Dante, being 6 years older and 44 would be born in 1975. From 1986, to 1970 to 75.
I know that the game isn't confirmed in a time slot though it is speculated it is somewhere in the 70-90s, due to the non existence of phones, the clothing style of some other people, design of furniture, some cars etc. and DMC started out pretty much on scratch, but I had a pretty long sleep and it is currently 6am. I couldn't stop thinking about how it would make zero sense.
This is my silent wish for capcom to finally give something like birthdays. Would first of all be cool for us astrology fans (I'll eat a broomstick if the twins don't have atleast cap influences and I say that as a cap cusp myself) and second, would finally clear when this freaking game takes place. Itsuno said it has always been inspired by Europe. 4 and Fortuna was inspired by Italy (who would've guessed wow fortuna, an italian word) wheras 5 is heavily inspired by London, but whatabout time placements?
I don't know if it's just me, but I love knowing a lot of details and a time frame and dates would clear a lot.
