I might be a bit new to DC comics and comic books in general and not used to this, but I love the way Bruce and Damian, who both claimed they needed no one, ended up with a horde of people around them.
Batman always claimed he 'works alone', but he ended up taking in a bunch of children who needed his help, he works with the Justice League and all their associates, and has a bunch of other connections (e.g. in the police department, Commissioner Gordon).
Damian, being his father's son—because why wouldn't he be—ended up with a bunch of friends across universes. There is Jon, of course. But we also have people like Maps, Colin, and Maya (the 2nd Nobody). In a possible future, he basically trains Elisabeth Prince, Wonder Woman's daughter. And in one continuity, he also has a canon girlfriend when he grows older, Flatline.
I love the fact that both father and son started out independent—and neither actually lost that independence, but they both gained a crowd of people around them who don't make that independence feel as lonely as it used to
