I may be hated or loved for this depending on who reads it, but I need to get this off my chest. What if instead of Ruby joining the Crystal Gems with Sapphire and becoming a perma-fusion with her it was someone from the Ruby squad? That's right, Army, Navy, Leggy, Doc, or even Eyeball are going to be a part of the Crystal Gems and will become Garnet with Sapphire in this AU. Here are the rules: - Quite obviously, whichever Ruby saves Sapphire will join the Crystal Gems. They can take as long as you like to warm up to them, but it must coincide with their personality. For example: Army and Eyeball may take a while to trust Rose and Pearl and maybe even try to kill Pearl because of the part she played in putting Sapphire's life in danger - Garnet's personality may be different due to the different Ruby inhabiting the form. For example: Garnet will still be stoic, but with different personality traits from the other Rubys: Army: more quick to anger Navy: more sensitive (or manipulative depending on how you view her) Doc: more take charge and level headed Eyeball: more intimidating and military-like Leggy: more clumsy and shy - Ruby will replace whichever position in the Ruby squad that is left open Anything else is up to the author Happy writing! :)
