Today I’d like to give some brOTP points to Dorian Havilliard:

I see a lot of posts saying how Sam would’ve loved them both (Celaena & Aelin), how Rowan did actually love them both because he saw them all & did not turn away, and (I’m not downplaying either).

I’d just like to give props to Dorian who not only saw but knew each of them:

Celaena Sardothien, Lillian Gordaina, Elentiya, Aelin Ashryver Galathynius (even later as Whitethorn Galathynius) & okay I guess technically Diana is missing (but she wasn’t a persona as much as a pseudonym vs even Lillian to me feels like a small period of time in her life).

He loved her without wanting anything from her, only for her.

And honestly they are a lot alike, they become more like the other… but I say brOTP because of how things turned out; & I think they really are happy for each-other/who they end up with. But their friendship & love is always very dear to me…

So, Dorian thanks for being the best brotp… and also doing that with like every character? (He and Chaol had more character dynamic chemistry than half the books I’ve read… that’s all I’m saying).

so I’m currently rereading tog and I’m on crown of midnight and I am very shocked by how much chemistry aelin and chaol really did have in the beginning. watching them slowly let their guard down and especially noting how she turned down dorian, who actually was fully accepting and shared the same beliefs, but stayed with chaol because they had more of a chance since he was essentially in a more realistic, lower role than a prince. I love the chemistry between her x chaol but her x dorian will always have a special place in my heart. I wish so so much dorian knew she was aelin and she had let herself accept who she was. from day one dorian has shown up for her and accepted her and SEEN her.

I know he needed to grow into himself and mature since he’d been so sheltered in a way but how do we ignore him feeling “like a king” beside her and how he didn’t know what it was like to be a man but he felt like one beside her. FOR her. and I know we later see dorian comparing how she looked at chaol in a way she never looked at him and we even see in her thoughts how she was so into him but she just had such a mental block bc he was to be king and it would be a problem…but bestie ur to be a queen?? I know she was running from that part of herself but I’m very mad we were robbed.

I’ve seen so many people calling them brother and sister-like but I simply got that vibe bc of her mental block. They could have been more.
