He’s sociable but doesn’t understand other peoples social cues, so he comes across as both overbearing and dismissive to Robin. He sees the world through his favorite movies and thinks about the world in terms of how things would go if he was a character in a movie.

He also tends to speak in quotes from his favorite movies. He doesn’t lie or omit the truth, so he ends up oversharing sometimes. He doesn’t always understand why people seem to think he’s odd, especially in terms of his relationship with his mum. (I was also raised by a single mom for most of my life so I really relate to the way Dougal and his mum seem to be good friends as much as they are parent and child, it’s very reminiscent of my own experiences).

I’m typing this at intermission for Two Strangers so i might have missed some moments. I’m the same guy who sent in Lydia from beetlejuice the musical, and I really didn’t realize my trip to New York would include all my daddy issues being aired out in two wildly different shows, but here we are.
