Yeah like! Listen, I adore duck and minerva, I loved what justin pulled - but not everyone does and that's okay!! the change in relationship dynamics might not be for everyone! Its just sad to see it being shit on by practically everyone, it's like everyone forgot this is the literal finale and are just focusing on this one thing they dont like. Cant we just. Chill and let people like things?

yeah! it certainly didn't do it for me, for reasons I've explained, but I can see why other people like it. if this whole thing devolves into a similar fuckfest the way talk around Other Ships circa arcs 3 and 4 started to become, I'm going to be so, so tired. I have my bitterness but I hope amnesty can at least be calm enough for people to have fun with it now that it's over. not everyone's happy with the meat that's been slapped on the bones of amnesty, but those bones are still there, and they are very very solid.

and even though it's psychologically easier for people to focus on negative things than positive things, when I push past that I do think so much cool stuff happened.

thacker and the quell, finding reconciliation at the end?? the quell wanting to learn to grow and understand the world, and going to thacker for answers? that was beautiful. it had all the poetic cinema of Merle's last scene with John, and yet with so much hope and happiness in it

duck's monologue about the future? even to people who don't like minerva/duck, it's no less powerful with Minerva removed from the scene and duck talking to anyone else, because thats coming from the depths of duck's soul, and it made me genuinely cry to hear him talk about the future with hope instead of resignation. he's come so so far

Aubrey and Dani getting that peaceful ending they deserved where they all came home? glorious

ned being remembered and glorified by his friends at the end of everything? I cried. I broke down. I'm crying just thinking about it now

there were absolutely high points to this finale and I'm tearing up just thinking about them all, god

You've put too much power into my hands, Desiree. How would Angus find out about their precious engagement/what would his reaction be? How does Lup feel about the whole situation? How did the breaking off happen - was there a fight, or did Taako just leave? Break my heart babe why dont you

These 2 were similar so I’m putting them together.

1.) how does ango find out/what does he do?

Ango finds out slowly I think. He knows something is up as soon as his dad and Mr. Taaco meet and from that point on he’s on the case. First he’s just shook that his dad is gay (he didn’t realize prior to this bc Krav’s always been vague about his dating life and he told ango about his mom and just… he thought krav was into women (also krav is ango’s bio father in this i decided)). Then he’s trying to push them together out of fun, and then when Mr. Taaco tells him, very seriously, to lay off, Angus gets curious.

He does fucking everything he can. He snoops on their conversations when they’re at school functions, he probes his dad about it, who is very tight-lipped on the subject. He gets the idea that they know each other, or knew each other, but I think it’s one day when he finds a picture squirreled away in the back of his dad’s dresser, in which taako and krav are together, and he sees taako’s ring, that he finally gets it.

That probably happens around candlenights after the first semester.

At first he’s surprised and then he’s a little sad for them both and he lays off for a while bc he feels bad for his dad. But then he thinks again and the parent trap efforts get dialed up to 10000%. He enlists his high school nerd friends. Things get serious. These kids are going to trap these two men in as many inescapable social situations as possible until they talk it out. 

I mean it sucks, of course, for them. But that’s just unfortunate mess along the way. Angus knows what’s good for them (it’s getting back together).

2. How does Lup feel?

LUP!!! MY GIRL! In this, Lup was missing from Taako’s life while he and Krav were together. They got engaged crazy young and had split up even before their mid-20s. Lup comes back after Kravitz and taako are no longer together and doesn’t even know about Krav until years later, when she and Taako are cleaning out Taako’s apartment after the Sazed restaurant incident, and Lup gets into Taako’s locked desk drawer and finds his ring. And there is no reason in all hell, that Taako, who hasn’t dated anyone seriously in years should have that.

So naturally she’s like hey Taako what the fuck and Taako loses it and is like nope Lulu we’re not talking about this but Lup finally sits him down and Taako tearfully tells her the whole story and Lup is like oh Taako and they hug it out.

She gets him to get rid of the ring. It’s no good to hang onto something from the past like that, she says. Taako agrees, after some persuasion, and the subject i closed. They move cross-country, get a fresh start, and Taako gets therapy for the poison thing and naturally his history with krav gets addressed too.

When Lup hears that Krav is back in Taako’s life (in a way) she’s more concerned for what this will do to Taako’s stress levels than she is any result. She remains a shoulder to cry on when he’s feeling particularly down.

3. How did they break up?

Taako just left. See I see his and Krav’s relationship as very loving, but deeply unhealthy. He’s not in a good place mentally just in general so it bleeds over into their relationship. They’re kind of in that place where it’s like: my love will make up for your struggles with mental health. And like folks - it just doesn’t.

So Taako basically just panics. He and Krav get engaged, and it’s wonderful, and he loved him, but - he just starts thinking and thinking. Things don’t last. Kravitz will grow to hate him the longer they’re together. Taako feels, genuinely, like he’s going to be the part of Kravitz’s life that will eventually leave him very, very unhappy.

He doesn’t talk it out, like he should. He bottles it up. And then one night, he just dips. Packs a bag, runs away, is 200 miles from home by the time he even gives it a second thought in his panic and by then… you know when something is hard and scary and you know things would be better if you faced it but you just… don’t? He doesn’t go back.

Heck yeah!!!! How about "your hands are just as dirty" for Barry?

(ITS FINALLY DONE. Sorry it took so long.)

Barry stared at the tent. It was eye-catching, flashy, and splendid. More importantly, it radiated necrotic energy.

This was the place.

He’d heard rumors of Wonderland, just bits and snippets, each one wildly different from the others. A few things were consistent among the rumors.

First: Wonderland was dangerous. Second: People went inside to get things that they wanted. Third: Very few people actually got what they wanted.

It seemed like the safest place to hide the Animus Bell.

The question was, how did he get in? As he watched, his name appeared in glowing letters on a black slab above the door, and it opened. He walked through it and into the darkness, and the door vanished behind him.

“This is fun,” Barry said dryly. Barry looked around, but couldn’t see anyone. “Hey, I want to give you a thing that’ll be cool as hell, so get the FUCK over here so we can talk!”

For a few seconds, nothing happened. Then, a single spotlight illuminated a platform high above the ground where Barry stood. A pair of elves stood on the platform dressed in flashy, stylish outfits.

“We must admit that this is rather unconventional for Wonderland,” the female elf said, her voice amplified magically so that it came from everywhere at once.

“After all,” the male elf continued, “most people who choose to play our game have something they want from us, not for us.”

Barry shrugged. “Well, I’m not interested in playing games or anything; I just wanted to give you something that’ll probably help you with…uh…whatever it is that you do here.” He paused. “What do you two do here?”

A second later, the elves appeared on either side of him.

Twins, Barry noted now that he could see them up close.

“We are the hosts of Wonderland, a game in which you can get anything your heart desires,” the female elf said.

Barry nodded. “That’s what I heard,” he said. “I wasn’t sure if the rumors were true.”

The male put his hand on Barry’s shoulder, which Barry wouldn’t have been aware of except that he saw it.

“All of the rumors you’ve heard are almost certainly true,” he said confidently. “Whatever you seek, you will find it in Wonderland.”

“Yeah, I’m not seeking anything, I just want to give you something for safekeeping,” Barry said.

He removed the Bell from his hip pack. “This is the Animus Bell,” he said, holding it up for them to see. He noticed the immediate greed in their eyes, and his grip on the Bell tightened.

“It looks pretty, but what can it do?” The male elf leaned in towards the Bell, and Barry moved it back a little bit.

“It allows its wielder to separate a soul from a body,” Barry said uncomfortably.

“So you murder them?” The female elf didn’t sound impressed.

“Well not exactly,” Barry said, a little bit defensive of his work. “The body is still alive, the soul’s just not in it.”

“I see,” the male elf said, eyes glittering. Barry shivered a bit. “It must be useful for you, since you’re a lich,” he said.

Barry frowned. “How did you-”

“We knew the moment that you entered,” the male elf said. “We could sense it.”

“I wonder what pushed you to do the taboo,” the female elf mused. “You’d be hunted down by the emissaries of the Raven Queen, and put in the Stockade for the rest of time. What could be worth that?”

Barry sighed. “It was what I had to do,” he said.

The male elf leaned in wolfishly. “You’d bring on so much pain. On yourself, on others, and really, it’d be a black mark on the world.”

Barry gritted his teeth. “You two are liches. Your hands are just as dirty. Even dirtier, since you seem to be siphoning away emotions.” He looked at the two liches. “Take the Bell, and let me out. It’s a fair sacrifice,” he said.

The female took the Bell, and slipped it into a pocket. “We will allow you to leave, but if you should return, then you’ll have to play.”

The door appeared in front of Barry, and he walked out.

however, asides from the Bigfoot form which we didn’t get too much info on it was lacking a hulking figure, claws, and rows of sharp teeth… which is a bit disappointing

Not yet! They will be, though, a few years after Taako and Krav get hitched. I think Lup does summer terms as well, and finishes the undergrad degree sooner than a full 4. She and Barry get married after that, I think.

A very recent one that had a very intriguing premise was Of arcane energy and missing hearts. Uploaded and updated very quickly, finishing about a month ago, by @drownedkiwi on here (WHO I JUST REALIZED WROTE THIS?? I’m?????) or OhWowAltMal on Ao3. It’s a post-canon fic with Hella Dramatic Irony, which is, as you may have noticed, my favorite flavor of irony. Just take my word for it that it’s good and it has some Feelings in it that will make you grasp at your chest whilst reading it.
