I love coffee so much. I love the ritual of making it, the smell, the beautiful sense of ease when I take my first sip, sitting with the papers on a Sunday morning slowly working my way through a hot cup. # What I’ve realised, is that I love coffee but I’m not sure coffee loves me. Now admittedly, I could drink 4-5 cups a day and not feel any effects from the caffeine, as I know I’m a fast caffeine metaboliser. # A few weeks ago, I decided to cut back to two cups in the morning to see if it made any difference to my skin and general sense of well-being. Then I started doing more research on caffeine and how it gets metabolised through the liver. A light bulb went off in my head and I made the connection between my recent hormonal acne issues and my caffeine intake. # So this past Monday, I decided to experiment with having a few weeks off coffee to see if it made any difference. The first day was hard, y’all! 😭 # I swapped my normal cups of joe for an oat milk latte (I add cinnamon to mine for a little extra sweetness). # One week in, I’m not sure if it’s made much difference but I’m going to give it another couple of weeks and see how I get on. Either way, I’ve now discovered the amazing world of matcha and guess what? I really like it! . . . . . #goodmorning #matcha #matchalatte #matchatea #matchalover #matchalover #hormonehealth #hormonalacne #hormoneimbalance #hormones #hormonebalance #womenshealth #eatlovemove #keepitsimple #nutritionist #nutritionaltherapist #menstrualhealth #londonnutritionist #caffeine (at The Hoxton, Holborn)
