Elena stares at her girlfriend, Daisy who looks anywhere but at her. Something’s up and she’ll get to the bottom of it.
“Stop staring at me like that,” complains Daisy.
Raising an eyebrow at the complaint, Elena doesn’t say a word because she knows eventually Daisy will give in and tell her what happened because she’s known her for a long time now even before they got together.
Elena crosses her arms and taps her fingers against her arm.
“Alright, so I may have locked the keys in the car,” confesses Daisy with a sheepish grin on her face as she rubs the back of her neck.
Sighing, Elena rolls her eyes fondly.
“You are something else, Daisy but I love you anyways. Let’s go find Mack and Robbie. One of them get into the car and get the keys,” states Elena firmly.
Daisy grabs her hand then kisses her cheek.
“Then we can go out to lunch, my treat. You deserve it for putting up with me,” says Daisy softly.
“I’m not ‘putting up with you,’ I’m choosing to be with you,” replies Elena just as softly.
Daisy smiles at her comment.
“Let’s find Mack and Robbie and while we do that, you can think of where we should go for lunch,” she states firmly.
“Sounds good to me. We should do lunch together more often,” replies Elena. They walk off down the street to the garage where they’ll hopefully find Mack and/or Robbie, who can help them out.
After all, what good is a mechanic friend if they can’t help you get into your car?
Daisy considers her past relationships with Miles and Lincoln in comparison to her current relationship with Elena and knows there’s something missing from the previous two.
There’s something more in her relationship with Elena.
One night as she lies awake as Elena sleeps next to her, she finally figures it out.
They share an intimacy she never found with either of her boyfriends.
She knows it’s not a physical intimacy because there was plenty of that in both former relationships.
It’s something else –more of an emotional vulnerability where they’re both equals.
For so long, Daisy has kept people at arm’s length.
Her childhood made sure of it even though it didn’t quell her desire for a family, for somewhere to belong.
With this intimacy, there’s no judgment when it comes to letting down her guard.
It scares her a lot but it amazes her as well.
They’re both strong women with the fighter spirit.
Daisy thinks this is good for the both of them.
The bed shifts as Elena makes herself more comfortable causing Daisy to smile.
She doesn’t know how she’s gotten so lucky after everything but she isn’t going to complain.
For her, home isn’t a place…it’s a person named Elena Rodriguez.

When Melinda May signs on to join S.H.I.E.L.D., thereare many things she expects she will have to do. There are even some thingsshe’s surprised about but once they’re explained to her, they make sense.
For the first few months, the academy meets herexpectations and she more than meets theirs.
One night, as she returns to the dorms after grabbinga bite to eat, she sees her roommate, Maria Hill struggling to return to theirroom.
“Hey, you okay?”
Maria nods as she’s too busy yawning to answer hervocally.
The breeze picks up causing both women to shiver.
“Are you heading back to our room?” Melinda asks asshe walks closer to Maria.
“Yes, I am. Are you?”
Melinda nods her head as she wraps an arm around theother woman’s waist.
“Come on, you look like you’re going to fall over anymoment now and we don’t need you falling down the stairs or something.”
Maria leans into Melinda as she wraps her own armaround her shoulder to help balance her.
The shared body heat from the contact keeps the womenfrom freezing as the wind changes from a breeze to something stronger.
Ten minutes later, the women stand outside their roomas Melinda fishes out her room key before unlocking the door and leading Mariain.
Maria is practically asleep so Melinda brings her overto her bed and lays her down before removing her shoes then maneuvering herunderneath her comforter.
As she walks over to her own bed in order to get readyfor bed herself, she hears a whispered “Thanks Mel”, causing her to turn aroundand smile at Maria.

Finally, it came time for Melinda’s favorite time ofday – about ten at night when the team is sleeping and all she hears is the humfrom the Bus’s engine as she moves about the plane before retiring for thenight herself.
As she walks pass the bunks, she notices one of themis open so out of concern, she peers in because no one on the team sleeps withtheir door open. Melinda frowns when she sees Simmons’ bed empty.
Letting out a sigh, she exits the room before headingin the direction of the Lab.
Melinda approaches the lab and smiles slightly at thesight of Jemma asleep with her head on her arms on top of the holo-table.
Standing beside the scientist, she gently shakes hershoulder.
“Simmons, wake up. Come on, you need to get to bed.”
Groggily, Simmons wakes up slowly, confused about whyAgent May stood next to her.
“Agent May? What’s going on? Do we have,” she yawns,“a mission?”
“No, you fell asleep in the lab so I decided to wakeyou up so you can get to bed.”
Nodding her head, Simmons lets out another yawn as shestands up, swaying slightly but unable to fall over as May steadies her.
“Thank you. Are you going to bed soon yourself?”
“I am. Once you’re in bed.”
The two women check the lab to make sure everything isturned off that needs to be then they head upstairs to the sleeping quarters.
“Goodnight, Agent May.”
“Good night, Simmons.”
Then they separate to head to their respective bunksto turn in for the night.

Walking pass the gym after spending some time at theshooting range, the sound of cursing startles May slightly and causes her tobecome concerned about the cause. So she steps into the room in order to findout the cause.
She sees Bobbi working at one of the machines, tryingto rehab her leg after her run in with Ward but it doesn’t seem to be goinglike she wants it to.
“Bobbi? Are you alright?”
Looking over at her, Bobbi smiles slightly.
“I’m. just. Peachy.”
May raises an eyebrow at her then crosses her arms.
“It certainly didn’t sound like it.”
Bobbi sighs as she stops what she’s doing because herbody tells her it can’t take anymore today.
“I want to get back into the field. Working in the labis fine but I’m an agent first. I need to be out there, doing something…. doinganything. My body just, it just disagrees.”
“Then you should listen to it. You’ll get back intothe field when you’re meant to.”
May walks over so she stands next to Bobbi and placesher hand on her should.
“You’re too good of an agent to not get back into thefield.”
Bobbi smiles up at her.
“Thank you.”
“For now, however…..you need to shower then rest for awhile. I’ll get Hunter to bring you something to eat.”
Laughing lightly, she knew Agent May had a point.
“He’s still afraid of you. You know that?”
May simply smirks as she helps Bobbi stand up from themachine.
“Thanks May, I appreciate it.”
“No problem, Bobbi.”
The two women walk off in different directions – Bobbito her room to shower then rest in bed while May hunts down Hunter so Bobbicould be fed after working out hard.

Late at night, the base is quiet and peaceful or aspeaceful as a place like the Playground could be and May finishes up her TaiChi session. It’s been awhile since she’s had a good session so she feelsreally good and ready to go to sleep.
Suddenly, she hears footsteps approaching and shetenses up while looking around for something she could use as a weapon ifneeded.
Old training dies hard even in a base with tightsecurity.
Elena appears moments later, surprised to see AgentMay still awake.
“Agent May? You’re still up?”
“I did a session of Tai Chi to help me unwind andrelax before going to bed. What are you doing up?”
Elena sighs because she doesn’t know what to say.
Studying the woman in front of her, Melinda considersthe possibilities.
“This is about Daisy, isn’t it?”
Unable to look May in the eye, she nods; somehow, she’s not surprised that May was the one to figure her out.
“Daisy is my friend. I want to help.”
Yet, the others especially Fitzsimmons and Mack makeher feel guilty or try to, anyways though Elena didn’t believe Mack did it onpurpose.
May smiles softly at her.
“They don’t understand why she shut them out but they, especially Fitzsimmons, come from very different backgrounds than Daisy so theyjust don’t get it. I’m glad that she had someone keeping an eye out for herregardless of how you’ve gone about it.”
Elena feels a weight lift off of her shoulder then shesmiles brightly at May.
“Thank you. I think I can sleep now.”
[5]
There’s a sudden knock at May’s door.
“Come in,” she says as she places her book down on theside table.
The door slowly opens to reveal Daisy standing there.
“Daisy? What’s wrong?”
Rubbing the back of her neck, she smiles sheepishly atMay.
“I just—after everything that has happened lately, Ijust needed to make sure you’re here.”
May understands where Daisy is coming from because she’snoticed Daisy, Jemma and Elena tracking the others with their eyes as a resultof the fear they felt when most of the team were LMDs.
She pats the space next to her on the bed as an invitationfor Daisy to join her which she does.
“I know that it’s hard for you to believe right nowbut I’m not going anywhere. I have no reason to.”
Daisy sighs as she leans against the headboard thenpulls her knees up to her chest and wraps her arms around them.
“My brain knows that, it’s just the rest of me that’shaving issues.”
They sit in silence for a few moments.
May decides that this is the time to finally saysomething she’s been needing to say for a while.
“If you still feel guilty about leaving, after Lincoln…..youshouldn’t, Daisy. It wasn’t right for any of us to make you feel like that.”
Daisy meets May’s gaze and offers her a small but softsmile.
“Thank you; that means a lot to me.”
Unable to resist, Daisy hugs May and relaxes when shefeels it being returned.
“I should go and let you get some sleep. I think I’llbe able to sleep now.”
Daisy climbs off of the bed then pauses at the doorwayto look back at May.

Also, instead of pie - they go to the beach
“I mean it. I think this is the first step in us starting to heal. Just look around at everyone.”
Doing as Jemma suggested, she couldn’t help smiling as she watched Mack and Elena splash each other while Fitz and Coulson cooled off in the water just far enough that they were out of danger. Then her eyes wandered over to where May and Piper were walking along the edge of the ocean, deep in conversation but not a serious one as Piper laughed at something May said.
“You’re right. We really needed this.”
Just lying in the sun on the beach felt like all the stress and pain were melting off of her shoulders.
“It’s definitely worth dragging sand back to the base and dealing with it for ages because you know, its gonna get in everything.”
Jemma sighed.
“Maybe we can get Fitz to upgrade the vacuum cleaners to easily suck up any and all sand.”
Adjusting her sunglasses, she went back to watching the team enjoy the water when Mack caught her attention by waving his arm.
“Come on, Jem. I think the others want us to join them in the water.”
Birthday Fic Fest #6 - Quakeshot/Slingquake/Daisy x Elena + Hogwarts AU

“So I was thinking….”
“Don’t hurt yourself there, babe.”
Elena glared at Daisy who only grinned in response.
“As I was saying, I think we should go to Honeydukes first then go to the Three Broomsticks for something to drink.”
Daisy nodded her head then a thought occurred to her.
“Though, since this is a date, maybe we should go to Madam Puddifoot’s.”
Elena stuck her tongue out and furrowed her brows at the suggestion.
“Only if you want to run into Ward and his newest fling of the week.”
“Yeah, on second thought, the Three Broomsticks it is.”
Elena snuggled closer to Daisy on the couch in front of the fire in the Gryffindor common room causing Daisy to move her arm in order to wrap it around Elena’s shoulders.
“Speaking of Madam Puddifoot’s, I heard a certain Head Girl talking about meeting someone there this weekend.”
Looking up at Daisy, Elena simply waited for her to continue.
“Looks like a certain Quidditch Captain finally worked up the courage to ask her out.”
Elena snorted.
“About time. Bobbi has been like a turtle where her feelings about Jemma are concerned.”
Daisy chuckled.
“She’s not the only one. Jemma has been fretting over it for weeks now once she realized I wasn’t playing a joke on her.”
“You know what this means?”
“I do. It looks like we finally have another couple to go on double dates with now.”
Leaning down, Daisy kissed the top of Elena’s head causing her to let out a contented sigh.
Some days, neither girl knew how she got so lucky when it came to love. It was certainly worth all the comments people made.
“Yoyo! You’re supposed to knock before you enter my room! What if I had been naked?”
Elena smirked at Mack.
“Maybe if you were not so slow, Turtleman then you could close the door and lock it.”
Moving across the room, Mack leaned down and whispered in her ear,
“If you want to see me naked, just say so.”
Standing back up straight, he walked passed her while Elena stared at him with her mouth open.
It took her a few minutes to regain control over herself and let the blush fade away before joining Mack in the kitchen.
As she leaned against the island, she couldn’t help smiling as she watched him cook.
Mack sang one of the songs Daisy had gotten stuck in his head.
Elena tried to not laugh because while he didn’t sing well, he did put effort and enthusiasm into it which she appreciated it.
Joining in, she caught the moment that he realized that he was not alone then he turned around while continuing to sing.
He reached out and grabbed her hand before spinning her causing her to laugh.
Elena didn’t pay attention to where her feet were going until she tripped and fell forwards toward Mack and her hands ended up landing on his chest with his arm around her waist.
“Falling for me, Yoyo?”
“I already have.”
Her eyes widened at her confession but before she could say anything else, he pulled her close and kissed her.
“I have been wanting to do that for awhile.”
“Well, you certainly took your time. It is a good thing you are handsome.”
Elena smirked at him before pulling him down for another kiss.
