Fëanor vs Gondolin were the two different given origins by Tolkien, and the one who gifted it to Galadriel differs between Gandalf and Celebrimbor.

For some of the options here, I synthesized the two versions, in case anyone believes in both, or parts of both.

For all Celebrimbor fans Id like to remind you of the version of lore where he makes the Elfstone for Galadriel.

It later is given to Aragorn and in the movie it was probaly replaced by the Star of Arwen (we cannot be not 100% sure of this inspiration source as there is also another piece of jewellery given by Arwen but this time to Frodo)

Its technically another cool thing Celebrimbor made and surely should get some attention.

I hope some of you fanartists and fanfiction writters might get some ideas here.

The fire in the giant hearth crackles with a warmth Orin has rarely felt from the sun, especially in these winter months; she relishes in its bathing glow, eyes hooded to golden slits. Between her shoulder blades the carven pillar behind her is still deliciously cool.

Before her sits Strider, equally relaxed. Or so he appears on the surface, his own eyes hooded too, staring into the twisting flames.

Further down the hall the muted speech of other men reaches them, all in lively conversation. The occasional cry—of laughter or horror—makes the tips of her ears flicker and she has to suppress the urge to reach for her weapon that is not on her. This is a place of peace. Her blue eyes rimed golden shift back to the man in front of her. Peace. And beneath it something shifting. The taste of it strange and worrisome.

“Where are your thoughts today?” Her voice is a soft thrum, nearly in tune with the flames. Not too probing or pointed, softened as it is by a soft smile. “In the woods perhaps? How I miss the woods.”

Knock Thrice for the Wayfinder.

In Songs of Heimurinn most of the northern continent is covered by a vast forest known as Tirambyth, the homeland of the Fae, circumnavigating this forest can add weeks or even months to a journey, yet mortals who enter alone rarely return.

Those who are serious about travelling through the forest will track down a Waystone.

These monoliths can be found dotted along the border of the elven realms, they are part of an ancient travel network, tradition holds that knocking three times will summon a Wayfinder.

Wayfinders are Seelie elves willing to guide mortals safely through their vast woodland home, but each traveller must pay a different price, a song, a treasured possession, their name… sometimes the price is not worth the journey, sometimes no Wayfinder will appear and sometimes… something else will come through, something Unseelie.

And Boromir is not certain he believes him. There is a great deal about this Aragorn that he does not necessarily believe in, all small things of no real consequence to their task or his trust. Nonetheless, there is a... transient element to him that Boromir has never known in a man before, something unnerving. It is odd then, that he reminds him so strikingly of his father.

Which is where this thought began, examining him from across a darkening camp. They were all too cautious for a fire with the mists of this grey land snuffing out any spark they dared light anyway. Soon the first two watchers would be cloaked in darkness and Aragorn would be no more than a shadow of skeletal long legs. Which was, perhaps, when he had heard Boromir’s unspoken questions in the silence.

And, Boromir supposed, he had never allowed faithlessness to dissuade him from a course before now. And quiet questions in the dark of gloaming were the accepted method to pass a watch’s time. “When I was very young,” he began in a low and thoughtful rumble, “there was a man abiding in Minas Tirith. My father spoke of him often, with both praise and vexation. But I recall only that he sailed to war, and did not return to the Tower of Guard again.”
