one aspect about them I love:
He’s so unpredictable lol. Literally whenever he’s called upon to do any sort of diplomacy (and often when he isn’t) he makes unforced errors. I love that for him.
one aspect I wish more people understood about them
Tricky one. I don’t think he was the one-dimensional “angry Fëanorian”. I also don’t think he was the soft and misunderstood one. But I do generally like fanon!Caranthir – I think the fandom as a whole has a pretty good read on him.
one (or more) headcanon(s) I have about this character
Yikes again I don’t think about him that much. I haven’t decided what I headcanon his sexuality as yet, but whomever he’s attracted to it’s important to me that he has. just. the WORST moves. He cannot for the life of him flirt. Literally nobody was surprised that Curufin found a wife before he did.
one character I love seeing them interact with
Maglor!! I headcanon them as close.
one character I wish they would interact with/interact with more
Curufin I think! In my headcanon they’re another pair of brothers who Simply Do Not Get On. Curufin likes to needle at people’s vulnerabilities and thin-skinned Caranthir always, always snaps back. When dividing up East Beleriand Maedhros and Maglor very sensibly put themselves between Caranthir’s lands and Curufin’s.
one (or more) headcanon(s) I have that involve them and one other character
Back on the Caranthir and Maglor were close agenda: when Caranthir was little Maglor was the only one who could reliably coax him out of sulks. Everyone expected Maedhros, who was generally a baby-whisperer, to be better at it: but Maedhros had a tendency to try to talk Caranthir logically out of whatever was upsetting him, whereas Maglor was better at listening, or even just sitting there in companionable silence.
