No matter what Barry is doing in the field, Cisco is talking to him over comms. Barry doesn't have any issue listening to Cisco while he talks to Central City citizens or the occasional criminal or one of the villains from his Rogue gallery. But sometimes he wants to reply and he can't without someone else hearing. Thankfully though, he and Cisco share a love of music, musicals, etc. Which just leads to Barry humming songs and tunes under his breath to reply to whatever Cisco just said. Ex. Barry gets thrown during a fight and Cisco says, "You had to have done that on purpose. Sometimes I think you enjoy getting hurt." and Barry cheekily replies by humming The Masochism Tango by Tom Lehrer against the mic.

i imagine sometimes in the middle of the night, Cisco gets too cold and he turns and burrows into Barry. he mutters "'m cold" in his own hair and Barry runs his fingers through it to push it back as he koalas himself to Cisco and vibrates to generate more heat than necessary. it gets toasty and they both sigh and get back to sleep.

thinking abt hal and cisco again. like. specifically my 'making hal barry and cisco a triangle' hc of cisco's dimensional vibrations disrupting the speedforce, the speedforce disrupting the green lantern energy, and then the third part to that (not canon but its my hc) of the green lantern energy disrupting cisco's dimensional vibrations (for instance, in a 1v1 the idea of cisco's vibrational blasts not being able to disrupt hal's green light constructs but ALSO the idea of the constructs/energy being able to disrupt/cut off the dimensional energy that cisco throws around. or like cisco opening a dimensional breach but a green energy blast from hal can disrupt it/close it (which gives me a lot of concepts for dark!chara events with either hal or cisco against the other 🤔)

anyway idk how to explain it better pls someone understand me. cisco can fuck with barry, barry can fuck with hal, hal can fuck with cisco. triangle. yes? yes.

Barry looked up, hands still tugging at what was around his neck—a collar, Cisco realized, Zoom had put a damn collar on him—and glared.

Cisco watched the screen as Barry-2 talked about how he was tracking Killer Frost. He glanced over to see Harry roll his eyes. This was taking too long. Cisco needed to know Barry was okay. His Barry. Zoom wouldn't have killed him. But he could hurt him, and every second it took for them to find Barry could mean another injury he gained.

Would a doppelganger be enough to pull a vibe from? It wasn't an object that belonged to Barry, per say, but as far as Cisco understood, doppelgangers were all connected in a way. It couldn't hurt to try. Except having to explain to the paranoid detective and the man he'd had a part in kidnapping that he had the same powers as Reverb. That would definitely go over smoothly. In a moment of impulse, Cisco firmly set his hand on Barry-2's shoulder, and as though his damned sporadic powers heard his plea, the vision he'd wanted struck him.

He was in a dark room. He saw a girl first, in a cage, hand over her mouth as she looked to the side. Cisco followed her gaze, and his stomach dropped. Barry was in a cage of his own, though the walls were solid, like a glass box. He was kneeling on the floor infront of Zoom, and clutching at something around his neck.

"It's a simple question, Flash." Zoom spoke, slow and precise and creepy that sent chills down Cisco's spine. "Who is the fastest man alive?"

Barry looked up, hands still tugging at what was around his neck—a collar, Cisco realized, Zoom had put a damn collar on him—and glared. "I'll get out of here." Barry insisted. "Then we'll see who's the fastest."

Zoom revealed a remote in his hands. "That we will."

He pressed a button, and Barry's scream pierced Cisco's ears. He laid down on the floor, pulling his knees to his chest and tugging desperately at the piece around his neck. Zoom watched him, tilting his head curiously as he watched Barry struggle. Cisco wished more than anything that he could tell Barry they were coming for him, that he just had to hold on a little longer and they'd find him.

Zoom clicked the remote, and Barry let out a loud sigh of relief. He pushed himself into a corner against the glass, glaring up at Zoom with hatred again, but Cisco could see the fear under it. His heart ached at remembering what Zoom had done to him, how badly he'd hurt Barry before. He still couldn't get the image of Barry beaten out of his head, his friend, dangling from Zoom's grip like a freshly-caught fish.

The blue-lightninged speedster stepped closer. "Tell me, Flash," Zoom spat his title mockingly, "who is the fastest man alive?"

Barry stayed quiet, his shoulders tensing in anticipation. He squeezed his eyes shut. Cisco wanted to look away, but he couldn't. Barry may not know he was here, but Cisco didn't need to look away when his friend was the one experiencing it.

"Barry, just say it!" The girl in the cage whimpered. Cisco realized this must be Harry's daughter. She looked so young. Cisco didn't want to see this anymore. How could he get out of a vision? Why was it lasting so long?

"Again? Very well." Zoom grinned, and before he could press the remote, Cisco's view faded back into the science lab, his hand frozen on his the shoulder of the man identical to his best friend.
