A very old dad church doodle that predates me! ✍🏻 Dad’s church doodles: for as long as I can remember, and long before I was alive, when my dad was not napping in church he was doodling on the church bulletin. Dad has no special training - as far as I know he took one art class in college and not much else. Dad grew up on a farm in rural North Dakota. He went on to work in white collar, suit-and-tie, million-meetings-a-day, jobs. And every weekend he went to church. Between the work meetings, church, and church events and meetings, dad had plenty of time to sit with just a black ink pen 🖊 and whatever paper 📃 was supplied for the meeting/service. And just because dad was doodling doesn’t mean he wasn’t listening - he took notes too. But he drew the most. It’s those drawings I will share, because they’re too cool not to! Sometimes they’re designs. Sometimes cars. Sometimes other things. And sometimes you’ll see background from the church bulletin or whatever meeting he was attending. Sometimes not. Dad does all his drawing freehand with just a black ink pen and his own imagination (unless otherwise stated.)
