I too also wish SOMEONE would hold Jax accountable. Even in the last scene with him (where he said he was a bad person and stuff), I wish Pomni told her something along the lines of "Yeah but, you could've talked to me. You could've become better." Rather than what she did say. I was sad when Jax abstracted yes but I'm glad he STAYED abstracted. Because she objectively was given every chance to reach out and change. And the cast would've forgiven her. Like they forgave Caine. This is another reason I really like the finale still, they did a good job with the message :)
Also I'm still a tiny bit salty we didn't get more time to see the cast cope with everything but we got 24 minutes (basically a full normal episode) of Jax. I wish we saw more of how Gangle felt especially.
There's a lot of talk going around about fandom culture, queer rep, and fetishization of gay relationships so I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring on my gay fandom overthinking blog.
PSA announcement: I don't think any one "side" is wrong and this is not a dig at anyone. If something I say bothers you feel free to politely comment or scroll away. Not here to argue with assholes!
First things first. I think it's totally fine for women to be super into gay shipping. Anyone can be into anything, and women don't need everything popularized by them to be demonized or made into a problem. It's the consumer dollar of women primarily that has made gay media a tad more mainstream.
That being said... I have some thoughts on it...
One. If you write a story about an experience you know nothing about you should do research and actually get out of your own perspective. Or otherwise, don't hinge the media on themes about that experience you don't understand! It is very popular for women to write gay male love stories, and that is awesome, but the quality varies by MILES depending on whether the writers actually know the queer experience or have just heard about it in fiction. This is the same with white writers taking on bipoc protagonists or men writing women etc etc. Don't bite off more than you can chew and accidentally bake in problematic tropes!
Two. You can be super into gay shipping and not as much into lesbian shipping, but you better support lesbian media anyway! The popularity of mlm published works and film has not translated to the same thing for lesbian or transgender characters. This is not good! This is another way that monetized entertainment industries get to uphold the status quo while still looking progressive. You don't have to be a yuri fiend and write lesbian fanfic and draw lesbian fanart, but you better give the people that are/do all your love. You better fight for the mainstream works that have that rep. You better dip your toes into media that isn't your go to from time to time. If not for fun, then to broaden your horizons!
Three. If you're going to make queer stories a major part of your entertainment/hobbies/personality, then you should actually engage with the queer community. Want to write gay novels? Hire a gay editor! Like gay art? Go to queer artists! Want to learn more about the lifestyle? Make gay friends! Go to gay events! (And be respectful at them!!) Participate in political movements that help the community! Use your silly fanfiction to connect with and help the people it depicts! And if you become a professional artist or writer, make your platform a safe space by encouraging the straight fans to follow your lead.
Four. This isn't just for straight women that like mlm stuff. If you want to hold fangirls that are disrespectful accountable, you better hold creepy guys that hit on lesbians accordingly! Otherwise you're just looking to nitpick women, not address the misrepresentation of lqbtq+ people.
Five. I love you women in fandom spaces. I love that you have popularized gay romance. I love that you've created a welcoming space for queer transgender men like myself. I love how radically you explore gender dynamics in your art. For every straight woman that has made me uncomfortable with how she spoke to me about gay ships, I can think of five more and ten queer women that have made my jaw drop with their writing and art. I think we as fans just need to be conscious of how we depict queer couples, and how our fandom culture is being warped by marketing and monetized media. Fan fiction and slash shipping will always exist, but it's important to make it a positive thing. Let's all remember to support lesbian and bipoc ships and to be respectful of gay men when they express discomfort with the conversations around them.
Now, I'm gonna go rewatch I Saw The TV glow with my cishet mom who I'm helping find more queer art. Have a yuriful morning, and a yaoiful night. Trans your gender. Get ten partners. Never have sex or have crazy gay orgies. Eat some fruit. Peace and love.
I just think ppl in fandoms overreact too much. it's so hard for characters like talia to be written by actual woc characters. bullying & saying stuff like this only gives dc more reasons to shove some dudebro mischaracterizations down our throats. I don't want incest in comics. But i also good reps for woc in my comics. It's my opinion anyways. You can say anything you want cos it's the internet. Nevertheless, have a good day.

I was a vegetarian for 7 years until medical problems prevented me from continuing. Nowadays I try to switch it up, I eat meat, fish, animal products and try to balance it all out.
I will have to be on Vitamin B12 injections due to a genetic condition for the rest of my life though. Being a vegetarian didn't cause the condition but it worsened it to a point where I can no longer go without injections for more than a month.
I think that if going vegetarian or vegan is what you want and are able to do. You do you. But having to quit being one, either due to medical or financial reasons, or just not becoming a vegetatian/vegan is a valid option as well. Whatever works best for you and your body.

I will never understood how anyone can look at a CGI character and say it looks less kiddish and more realistic than a 2D animated character.
I will always look at CGI animated movies and feel like I'm looking at a kids movie, moreso than if I'm watching a traditionally animated movie. I'm not saying CGI is bad, but a CGI character will always look more like a doll to me than a living breathing being. Whereas a traditionally animated character might not look real either, but it's not trying to convince me that it's a real whereas a CGI character seems to be trying to, but failing miserably. To me anyway.
I have never to this day felt connected to a CGI character because they look terribly fake to me.
These are my thoughts and feelings on this matter. What are yours? What do you feel the most connected to? And do you think your opinion is affected by what you grew up with?
