3 Stretches You Need to Know for Frozen Shoulder
If you have constant burning pain that came out of nowhere and it just doesn’t go away, you might have frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)! Today I’m going to show you three simple stretches that are appropriate for all stages of frozen shoulder rehabilitation!
What the deuce happened to your shoulder?
Frozen Shoulder. I injured it last November casually lifting a box up onto a shelf. It hurt for a few weeks but seemed to get better. I kept unintentionally re-aggravating it through routine daily activity until it progressed to no longer being able to move it (frozen) without intense pain. That lasted several months and once the pain started to subside (thaw) I had lost 3/4 of its mobility and couldn’t do simple tasks like raise my arm or anything else above my head without heavy pain. Several more months of physical therapy, stretching and basic shoulder movements I’m finally to the strengthening point where I can start building up strength in and around the joint to prevent and new aggravation or injury. Hoping to be back to 100% functionality by Fall.
I’ve never heard of frozen shoulder until this incident. Basically a shoulder injury that progresses into internal swelling and inflammation in the joint immobilizing it and not allowing the joint to function normally. If you forcefully move it or pull it too hard it feels like someone’s ripping you arm out of socket. Very easy to accidentally pull it or move it wrong even just sleeping. The healing or thawing process can take up to 36 months but fortunately I’m progressing much quicker.
It sucks pretty bad…0 stars, would not recommend!!
I think my physical therapist is trying to kill me. 😂 Seriously, though she’s really happy with all of the progress that I’ve made. She’s added a ton of new, more difficult, things for me this week. I just got home and I am completely wiped out. But I know it’s necessary work to get my range of motion back and to get rid of the pain.

SUPERFLUOUS SHOULDER UPDATE: still fucked, but in a less painful way.
It mostly doesn’t hurt at all, with the major caveat that I have not tried to raise my arm above shoulder level in a few weeks. I’m starting physical therapy on Wednesday to try to get my range of motion back.
That will be the first time I’ve really left the house in a few weeks, with the current COVID surge and the blizzard and all. It’s at the same physical therapist office where I went when I got a whiplash injury in a car accident almost twenty years ago. They did wonders for me then, hoping for the same now.
Any idea how to treat frozen shoulders?
Yes, I should see a doctor. I even have a referral. But I can’t get there with my other disabilities. So I have to do this myself.
P.S. I am allergic to nsaids, and I can’t do most of the stretches.
Sorry guys Is been a while since I’ve posted I hope everyone is doing well and has been having lower pain days let me know how you’re all going in comments I had my regular procedures (bilaterally sympathetic nerve blocks C2 C3 and bilateral shoulders hydrodilitations) was meant to add RF to that but just couldn’t afford it at this stage but I did stay in hospital for my ketamine infusion 2nd time round with ketamine for me, I did a 24hr trial last year . It really is a duel plus for me works with the pain ,central sensitisations all the noise & with my mental health it was a very welcomed surprise that it helped mentally **BONUS ** as I was being treated for my crps and ketamine was added to decrease my central sensitisation that was going off like donkey kong Ketamine brought down the noise DRAMATICALLY with my hypersensitivity and all the hyper everything that comes with crps and allodynia it definitely resets all your receptors A added bonus *** it took away all the negative self talk and suicidal thoughts . So now —-Due my really positive response to it , it now will be added to my regular treatment regime . My frozen shoulders are no more but I’m still really stiff so why the pain is lower I gotta keep moving I definitely came home feeling better than I had in a long time ..... well at least till the insurance company started ignititing my PTSD and flashbacks dreams but that’s another post .
Pictures before the day on the day and after procedures.Miracles happen, if only it was permanent. One day there will be a cure for #CRPS — one day 🤞 🤞🤞
