TEEN WOLF 5.5 A Novel Approach ♡ July 20th, 2015
Do we ever find out why Dr. Valack seems to be the only person in Eichen House's supernatural ward with a room mate (Peter), and why on earth there's only one bed?
because that seems like an insane decision to me
🐺Teen Wolf 🐺
5.11, "The Last Chimera"
The creature in the previous cell. The Sluagh. The myth is that they can take on the appearance of the lost souls that have become inextricably bound to it. Happen to have seen any lost souls, Mr. Stilinski? Everyone down here.

She should not be missing - presumed a runaway - so that her pack worried themselves sick about her, knowing she was alive but unable to feel her or where she might’ve been through her bond. Not drugged out of her mind because of something that hadn’t even been her fault. He shouldn’t be her only option of salvation. Yet he was, and the very fact was both a blessing and a curse.
Peter growled long and low at the sight of the female curled in the corner of her cell, straightjacket preventing most of her too-pale skin from peeking through.
“Oh yes, our newest little roommate.” Gabriel Valack chimed, eyeing the poor girl with dulled adoration. “Won’t get much out of her, I’m afraid. They keep her quite tame with the amount of drugs they give her.” Peter was kneeling beside her before he could register his body's movement, hands shaking in both fear for her and horror that this was where she had been.
That she hadn’t run away, she’d been taken. Taken here, away from all those who cared for her. His hand hung between them, not thinking himself worthy or good enough to touch her, shaking gently with his own indecision. “I don’t suppose you know her name? I, strangely, cannot see anything about her.”
No, of course he wouldn’t have been able to, not with what she was. Not with the kind of person she was. It just wasn’t possible, this was where she had been after rescuing Erica and Vernon? Deucalion and his pack of Alpha’s had been telling the truth when they said they never took a young human woman, that they’d never even caught her scent? When he found out who had put her here they were going to die, and brutally.
“Why did they put her with you, why did they put me with you?” Peter demanded, jaw clenching and unclenching in an effort to control his tumultuous emotions. His control promptly shattered when he brushed her hair back from her forehead and saw blank, dead gold eyes staring back at him from bruised, sunken eye sockets.
“Most likely because I have no interest in her body and am able to fully stop you should you try anything,” Valack suggested with a shrug, not all that interested in either of them quite honestly. “Well, either way, it’s good you two know one another, frankly I’m not interested in sharing a bed with either of you. Not that the darling girl here actually sleeps on the bed much.”
“Peh-” Stiles drawled through parted lips, inching slowly towards his fingers that were hovering over her hand. “-er.” he swallowed the emotions that were welling up in his throat at her attempt to say his name, at the fact that - even through the drugged haze - she could still recognize him. “Peh-” it was said on an exhale, then nothing else, her gold eyes were dull and the few tears she had built up in her few seconds of clarity fell down the bridge of her nose and onto the ground.
“I’ve got you,” he told her quietly, sincerely, and gently affixed her into his arms and against his chest. He simmered his rage so that he could revisit it at another time, choosing instead to focus on his wounded packmate and the need for comfort she possessed. “I’m here.” It was a vow and a promise, he wasn’t going to leave her alone, not again. Not if they ever escaped this place, and even if they didn’t then she would be stuck with him then too. He had suspicions on who had placed her here but not a clue as to why, not when she could do so much good-
Not unless they suspected her of still being possessed, even partially, by the Nogitsune. Jeorek, her father, hadn’t even known where she was and now they probably never would. He enveloped her with his body as much as possible, trying to bring comfort to her through touch.
“Pack mates, interesting.” Valack mused before lying down on his own bed, book in hand. Peter, however, did not comment. He was too lost in thoughts regarding Stiles, in trying to hold her as close, as firm, and as gentle as possible all in the same breath. He wanted to rip the fucking straight jacket off of her, wanted to bleed the drugs out of her so she could regain control of her own body - he knew, personally, that she found it a special hell since the Nogitsune had made her live through everything it did without a way to stop it. This was her worst fear reimagined so that she could have amplified suffering.
She smelled of Lichen, most likely meant to weaken Peter further. He didn’t care, he decided as he pulled her closer and rested his forehead against hers, he couldn’t feel anything through their pack bond and that scared him far more than any potential poison they thought they could kill him with. They would be sorely disappointed, by showing him that they had Stiles they’d signed their own death warrants. He was going to find a way to save Stiles and then they were going to raze the structure from the ground up.
‘Peter!’ he clutched her tighter against him when he heard her call his name out, glancing rapidly around the room to try and find the trick. ‘Peter, you found me.’ she sobbed even though her face remained impassive and void of expression. He closed his eyes and buried his nose in her unclean hair, chalking it up to his own hopes painting a vivid mental picture of how Stiles Stilinski should be. She should be laughing and going through her senior year of high school, picking what college she wanted to go to - if she decided to go - and what she was going to do with the pack.
“I’m here.” he finalized with a sigh, reluctantly slipping into a soft, drug-induced sleep.
Valack is a gay icon
I’m bitter because Jennifer Blake, Deucalion, and Dr. Valack were the show’s most interesting villains but were given barely any development mostly because they weren’t attractive to the majority of the teen girl audience.
The Doctor will see you now - The Teen Wolf-Hellraiser meta pt 3
Part 1 - We have such sights to show you
Part 2 - What big teeth you have
Part 3: The Doctor will see you now - Gabriel Valack and Dr Channard.
This comparison is both easier to see and more complex than the Julia-Frank/Peter Lydia one. The character Channard (unlike Frank and Julia) exists only in the second film which was not written by Barker, and it shows. However it is the least worst sequel by some measure, and the last one to understand the Cenobites were A horror not THE horror of the film, and certainly not some sadomasochistic murderers in leather dresses.
So if you were planning a serious marathon as opposed to a non-heckling one I’d stop here and go straight to Candyman [also by Barker]
