I miss the sound of you crunching as you eat, the sounds of excitement you make when I open a can of pate. I love that I don’t understand what you say to me, but that undeniably, it means love. . As my emotional support, you put up with so much crap. I pick you up and try to engage you when you clearly don’t want to. You teach me your boundaries with tooth and nail. I try to respect you as a gorgeous, dignified, independent mini-panther, but your cuteness overwhelms me when I’m craving physical touch, and I wake you up from your naps just to let you know. Clearly you’re annoyed, but you always forgive me with your generous heart. . I miss the routine of scooping your poop and cleaning out your litter box. I call you a stinky face, even as you offer me your butt-hole for sniffing. . These days, I try my best to enjoy the warmer days without you by my side.
