sorry for the late response! i was pretty excited to answer this but kept drawing blanks whenever i actually started writing an answer, so it's just been sitting in my inbox for the past month or so
ok so its insanely easy to imagine m!ISFP as a thurston moore/stephen malkmus/jeff tweedy etc type so i think he should be in some kind of indie band. if you want an idea of the type of music i think hed play refer to this playlist. for the other members id say nb!INTP as bassist & m!ENFP as drummer. i was debating between the latter and m!ESFP but decided on ENFP because good lord the amount of ne in this playlist. it also makes more sense for what i have in mind for the band's history
it started off as childhood friends m!ISFP & m!ENFP jamming in one of their basements, eventually moving onto songwriting. there have been a lot of times where ENFP's like "we're sounding pretty good! imagine if we had a third member", both have always had dreams of being in a band, though ISFP was pretty hesitant to move forward until they had actually developed a distinctive "style", which ENFP understood & wanted to respect. but after a while the lack of progress really started getting to him, eventually he was able to convince ISFP they needed to look for bassists. after some searching they met nb!INTP on some message board & both agreed that they seemed like a good candidate, they met up in person aaaaand the rest is history.
nb!INTP is more than qualified for the role. they have a lot of musical talent, as well as some very specific ideas for what direction they want the band to go, which m!ENFP is more than happy to go along with. it got pretty frustrating for m!ISFP to watch nb!INTP essentially take over as primary songwriter, it didn't help that what they called "band practice" involved less and less playing because nb!INTP & m!ENFP were too busy sitting around bouncing ideas off each other. m!ISFP isn't necessarily closed off to their ideas. he just can't keep up with the pace their discussions go and in the moment has no idea what to contribute himself. he might take note of something interesting and think of ways to expand on it, but by the time he shares his ideas they fall on deaf ears because nb!INTP had already discarded whatever premise. so from his perspective, the band is making even less progress than it did before
think im gonna leave off there because of how long ive already spent typing XD i might post a list of more general hcs in the future, or expand upon this because i had fun with it
Okay hear me out, what if Hirose was aroace/aspec? He has trouble understanding the hype around relationships and possibly dated Hana just to see what it was like. Personally I see him as demi bcus he feels closer to Nakamura but idk. I'm also just desperate for rep and headcanons are all I got :') this hc was mostly for me, but I just felt like sharing lol
So Nina and Jeff dated for like a year to 6 months in my AU and Toby and clockwork dated for like 6 months too.
Talking about Jeff and Nina first. Nina, as I also mentioned in my hcs post for her, she was super obsessed with Jeff before meeting him. She thought he was inspiring and wanted to be like him, but also be with him. Eventually, she met him for the first time...
(seeing him in her original story was her hallucinating in my AU). She was gushing over him instantly, even if he already looked and acted a little differently from what she expected. She had already romanticized the idea of Jeff so badly, and Jeff was loving it. He's a very self-absorbed person, or he acts like he is to cover up how insecure he is deep down, so her fueling his self-love, stuck-up tendencies really got to his head. So Nina was obsessed, and Jeff was enjoying the attention. Jeff was still young, and he didn't know how to show affection. Actually, it felt wrong to be vulnerable and talk about how he felt. He even poked fun at others for all their "sappy shit." Nina wanted him to love her as badly as she loved him, but Jeff just wasn't capable of that. It's not like he's heartless; he more or less liked Nina too. In the quiet moments they shared, when she'd patch him up after a mission and he came back covered in blood, high out of his mind, she'd just tend to him without a word. He'd imagine what it would be like if he could actually show her how much he appreciated moments like this, that he didn't hate her even if they argued a lot and he wasn't the best boyfriend. But he'd quickly shove those feelings down. He didn't want to think about how much he sucked or that he should change. He just told himself that she'd stay with him whatever he did anyway and that it all didn't matter that much at the end of the day. On the topic of their arguments, it was mostly him saying something fucked up to Nina, which sometimes would escalate into her crying, to which he'd say to get over it and that he didn't even mean it like that. Or she'd yell at him that he's only in love with himself and such a cold ass, and that this isn't what she dreamed of, to which he'd say something like, "Sorry I'm not the perfect prince." An argument like this actually did cause Nina to finally break up with him. She was depressed for weeks afterward, barely leaving her room, and Jeff was all over the place. At first, he told himself he didn't need her, that she never really liked him anyway. Then it started to hurt; the guilt and the sadness caught up to him, and, like always, because he refused to cope with his feelings in a healthy way, he just tried to numb himself as best as possible: drugs, sex, and killing people for weeks on end. He became more irritable and quiet too, picking arguments with whoever decided to just look in his direction. After a while, he slowly calmed down, but only due to him overdosing and ending up at Jack's infirmary at four in the morning. He said he was fine, but he couldn't even talk, and he was shaking and throwing up everywhere. Jack didn't scold him or freak out; he just tended to him and told him that he had to change his behavior. He pushed him a little to talk about his problems, or at least Nina, so Jeff started talking when he felt better, hours later. Again, he was just complaining and bad-mouthing Nina at first, but then it turned to talking about their relationship in general and how he missed her and that he knew he messed up, that he was too broken to do anything right. He just ranted, and Jack let him talk. From there on, Jeff would sometimes show up to Jack's infirmary when no one was around and talk, and Jack would listen without judgment. He just let Jeff speak.
Toby and Natalie:
They were just good friends for a while until things gradually turned into something more. It wasn't some big romantic moment with Toby asking her to be his girlfriend with flowers and chocolate, or the other way around. They just started getting more touchy with each other when they were alone sometimes, and one day they kissed. Then they kissed again, and after that they both knew they were more than just friends. They didn't announce it to everyone, though. They were both super awkward and inexperienced. Around other people, they'd hold hands, sit next to each other, or sometimes half-lay on each other on the couch. They'd share quick pecks on the cheek or small kisses, but that was about it. They didn't even have sex cause it just didn't feel right. They were both just really nervous and awkward, and they didn't know what they were doing. That definitely had a big impact on their relationship. Over time, people change, and they both changed a lot. Neither of them was doing well mentally, and it started to feel like they were just doing what they thought they were supposed to do as a couple instead of actually wanting to do those things. Nat also wasn't sure if she liked men anymore. Eventually, they realized they were growing in different directions, so they agreed it would be better to go back to being friends.
Eyeless Jack and Toby:
I know a lot of people ship Jack and Toby, but I'm not sure how to feel about the ship (probably because Toby reminds me of myself, and Jack reminds me of one of my best friends). I think they'd be friends in a way. They both have a strange fascination with each other. They're so different, yet they still have enough similarities to draw each other in. Toby thinks Jack being a demon or demonic being is super cool, and Jack finds it really interesting how Toby functions as a human (most people with CIPA die in early childhood, and the average life expectancy is around 25 years). Aside from that, though, I'm not sure if I want there to be any romantic or sexual tension between them.
Ej and Jeff:
Jack and Jeff are another interesting dynamic. They're so different that it ends up bringing them together, opposites attract. They both see each other in a different light than everyone else does. Jeff highly values Jack's opinion and deeply appreciates the conversations they have. Jack, on the other hand, can't help but feel bad for Jeff. He understands him and sees beyond the fake persona Jeff puts on, a persona that becomes harder to maintain the more Jeff opens up about his feelings and his life. Jack appreciates their conversations too. He gets lonely sometimes, and unlike Toby, Jeff doesn't drain Jack's social battery. Listening to Jeff talk has a calming effect on him.
Tim and Brian:
Best buddies since before college, Brian was Tim's first real friend. I could make a whole separate post about their relationship because it's just that complicated. They were incredibly close in college, but after the events of Marble Hornets, they hated each other. That lasted until Hoodie showed up at the Manor. At first, they fought constantly, but over time they slowly warmed up to each other again. They had a long history together, and everyone else at the Manor knows they have history. They just don't know the details. Even now, they still resent each other, yet there's a strange sense of co-dependency between them that neither of them can let go of. It's a very strong bromance.
Jeff and Toby:
I could see them smooch when they're high. There's definitely some complicated tension between them. At first glance, you'd probably just assume they hate each other, but there's a lot more to it than that. They're both also really competitive, sooooo...
Nina also thinks most of the Proxies are cute. She thinks everyone is beautiful in their own way, and she believes she could fall in love with anyone if the vibes were right.
And I think Nurse Ann and Ej would kinda be cute but I prefer thinking of Ann as single.
