Just finished rereading The Sea of Monsters and it took Luke Castellan every ounce of restraint in his entire being not to have this painted on the side of the Princess Andromeda.
Hermes and Poseidon both struggling to stay away from their sons and being haunted by what the Fates have in store for them meanwhile Hades click clacking around the underworld palace with his little heels thinking of sea puns to tell Percy
i don't CARE that it's ooc or whatever. i DON'T.
family game nights with the gods. percy refuses to play monopoly with hades bc as the god of riches percy is sure that hades is cheating to get more money than the fucking bank. he doesn't even know where it's coming from! he only plays like cheater versions of games with hermes bc hermes is always cheating anyway so he might as well try to win at cheating even if that's literally hermes's domain. he doesn't bother playing games with athena bc she always wins regardless. EXCEPT this one time he played chess with her and it was just this
apollo keeps trying to get on percy's team to flirt i mean bond with his favorite cousin and percy pretends he doesn't notice as he clings to artemis instead and begs to be on her team. she gloats. apollo pouts. game nights usually end up with a huge blow out fight where percy is accusing someone of cheating and turns to zeus as god of justice to determine the cheater and zeus never takes percy's side and percy knows he knows the other person is cheating, he's just being annoying to get under percy's skin.
percy insists hermes send hephaestus invitations to family game night every time but hermes keeps telling him that hephaestus said no and its not until like a couple of months in that he learns that hermes never delivered the invitations bc "he always says no anyways so what does it matter" and percy goes on strike and refuses to attend game night for like four months in favor of spending time with hephaestus in his forge. he even creates a new forge for hephaestus since he blew up his last one.
a silly hermes and apollo interaction would make my day <3
“With all due respect, which is none,”
- Percy Jackson, probably
another detail that i liked, mostly because i am insane and for crazy people an inch can be a mile,
is the fact that percy was praying for poseidon, the first time we actually see him do that in the tv show, after a year of not making himself physically there, and when he gets to end of his prayer and request, hermes immediately pops up with everything percy will need and the okay from poseidon says
"i am going to help you and will not stop your quest, you have my blessing to leave camp"
mans doesn't need to keep a secret anymore so he will spoil his son, like i that's so good, i love you poseidon, i just know you wanted to raise your son like a prince but you couldn't and you will forever recent your brother for it
“What happens in Vegas is the reason for half the kids in the Hermes cabin.”
What an absolutely insane line
Let's say goodbye to Percy! :)
