Literally just me, tooling around happily and baking a little cake, simply because I felt like it, and listening to my music while I have a scented autumn-y candle lit on the counter
Isn’t life nice?

Literally just me, tooling around happily and baking a little cake, simply because I felt like it, and listening to my music while I have a scented autumn-y candle lit on the counter
Isn’t life nice?
weird things that remind me of each hogwarts house
hufflepuff:
waking up really annoyed because the sun found some cracks in your window
reading late at night
buying yourself flowers
drinking a lot of coffee
office style looking at the camera
listening to records while cleaning
laying in the sun on the grass
cussing a lot to every other house’s shock
excellent liars and alibi makers
can either be the mother hen or the chick no in between
gryffindor:
listening to music full blast on earphones that everyone hears it
asking what even tho they heard what the person said their brain just didn’t process it quick enough
laughing at horror movies
mother hen most of the time
cinnamon scent for some reason
record shopping
playing at instrument badly just because
falling asleep early because is was comfy
funniest people you ever meet
sitting on a rooftop with friends and just talking about anything and everything
ravenclaw:
colour cordinating
an obsession with the moon
procrastinators that still manage to do everything on time
warm croissants with hot chocolate
reading next to a candle on a cold night
honestly candles in general especially if they are scented
random knowledge that they accidentally stumbled upon one day and it never left their head
drawings as in sketches on loose papers, in notebooks everywhere probably
drinking tea
fogged up glasses
slytherin:
analog photography
having a stuffed toy they sleep with but would never admit
sarcastic mf
pulling all-nighters to study amd basically functioning on 5 coffees
found family kind of vibe
annotations in books and poetry
playing video games for hours on end just to get the perfect score
singing in the shower
they look intimidating but they’re really not
late night walks or drives with friends to stargaze or just to go to a mcdonalds
Cute and sunshine and innocent hufflepuffs are nice and all, but what about the dark hufflepuffs? What about the hufflepuffs who have seen shit you dont even think to ask about. I present, dark hufflepuff headcanons.
Hufflepuffs that:
Stay quiet most of the time because they're used to being dismissed or ignored
Smile to hide their pain because their friend needs them
Have no qualms about cutting you off once you cross the line
Cant sleep and are therefore quiet and/or grumpy in the mornings
Have flashbacks or dissociate but wont say anything to anyone other than their closest friend
Are uncomfortable accepting gifts because they feel unworthy or undeserving
Will argue with you until kingdom come about your own worth, but deflect when you compliment them
Are always there for you when you need it
Empathize with your pain because they know how it feels
Supress their emotions at home because its easier on the people around them if they slide under their parents radar, instead of letting others see their emotional baggage
Perceive themselves as a burden or an unwanted responsibility
HUFFLEPUFFS THAT DONT FIT THE COMMON STEREOTYPE BUT ARE NO LESS DESERVING OF THE TITLE AND NO LESS DESERVING OF FRIENDSHIP AND RESPECT
I just gotta say... You know you're a true Hufflepuff when Pottermore says your patronus is a Badger three times in a row.
Hufflepuff: Today I parked on the street.
Hufflepuff: And I didn't pay for the parking.
Slytherin: Wow. I tremble with fear. You've become a criminal, Hufflepuff.
Hufflepuff: *horrified but secretly proud*
Why I love Hufflepuffs
Hufflepuffs are loyal, just, fair, hard-working, dedicated. There were almost 0 dark wizards, and we don't even know who they are. Hufflepuffs are open-minded. They are accepting. Understanding. They won't judge you. They'll always do what's fairer. They are extremely good friends. Crucially, Hufflepuffs stayed to fight not because they were battle-hungry like their Gryffindor compatriots but because they felt a sense of duty. The founder of the wizarding village Hogsmeade was a Hufflepuff. Hufflepuff is the most accepting of all the houses. Hufflepuffs can be trusted. Hufflepuffs have the best qualities from all of the houses (they’re just modest about it). They are brave. They all stayed to fight in the Battle of Hogwarts, but not to show off or prove themselves, but because it was the right thing to do. They are hardworking and determined. Unlike Slytherin, they don’t let arrogance get in the way of their goals. They do what they need to do for the right reasons, and don’t tend to brag. They’re still very intelligent. Ravenclaws, their highly logical thinking sometimes can come at the exclusion of compassion and moral obligation, whereas a Hufflepuff will never think twice about helping another. There’s a limitless amount of reasons that attest to the pure, kind nature of the Hufflepuff house. No matter who you are, Hufflepuff will accept you, love you, and appreciate you, no matter what walk of life you’re from, who your family is, or how oddly unique you are. Anyone should be truly proud to be a Hufflepuff.
House Things #3
The houses as quotes from classic literature. These aren’t meant to be direct representations of each house, but more literary quotes that I think will speak to something the soul of each of the different houses.
Slytherin: “We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep.” -The Tempest
Hufflepuff: “It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest I go to than I have ever known.” -A Tale of Two Cities
Gryffindor: “In his deepest heart there surge tremendous shame and madness mixed with sorrow and love whipped on by frenzy and a courage aware of its own worth.” -The Aeneid
Ravenclaw: “You are a wonderful creation. You know more than you think you know, just as you know less than you want to know.” -The Picture of Dorian Gray
