"I thought we had a safety meeting already." Olive asked. The redhead sat down on the bench and took a sip from her water bottle as she looked at you. You turned away and leaned against the beauty counter. "I mean, unless we have to do it all over again?"

"No." Ezra said, "Just wanted to remind you all about some things around here that I have been noticing."

Makayla joined you. "How is your hand?"

"Good. Healed. I got the stitches out a few days ago."

"Glad to hear that, missed having you around." she smiled.

"Girls," Ezra warned. "I need you all to be on the floor, on the stage, or in the private rooms during the whole shift. I've seen too many of you spending time in the dressing room or outside taking a 'breather'. Look I get it, sometimes the people can be too much, but the purpose of your job is to cater to your regulars..."

You stopped listening to Ezra and looked down at yourself. You hadn't worn such an outfit such as for about a week and a half. You felt odd in it. Of course, you opted for one that had less nudity compared to Olive's or Pam's outfit. It was simply a fuchsia sexy teddy romper made out of hologram material with a halter neck, open front with heart buckle accent, open back with tie closure, and bottom keyhole cutout with heart buckle accent.

"Does that sound good to you?"

Makayla nudged you, "Ezra is speaking to you."

You looked at him. "I'm sorry, what?"

"There is a party of about 6 to 8 coming in later tonight - celebrating whatever they're celebrating - do you want to join Olive with the group?"

"Uh, I'd prefer to work the private rooms."

You were not in the mood to entertain 6 to 7 more than likely annoying, touchy men. You hoped a few regulars of yours would come in considering you had not worked in a hot minute.

There were a few things you've learned since becoming a stripper three and half years ago. One, don't touch anyone's money. Two, when on the pole and a customer is watching her, don't strike up conversation with said customer. Three, don't take regulars from other girls.

"What a drag." Makayla sighed, "Cancelled plans with my friends to pick up an extra shift and no one is even here. And that party hasn’t even showed up.”

The two of you had been sitting in the chairs next to the stage for the past hour, doing absolutely nothing beside chatting. Olive had finished her stage and now Vicky was up there doing hers and getting feedback from Pam.

"It's a Sunday night. But, Ezra wants us to spend more time on the floor meanwhile this is the floor."

Makayla chuckled, "So stupid."

"Can I ask you something?"

"Of course!" the girl chirped.

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

"I do."

"Does he know what you do?"

She laughed, "Are you kidding me?! I tell him I'm a night shift stocker at Walmart. I don't think he'd react well to the news about me being a stripper. Do you?"

You laughed too. "Nope. I don't tell anyone what I do. My friends think I am a bartender at a bar and my parents think I work at Olive Garden."

Makayla scooted closer to you, whispering "This job isn't really something I'm proud of. I don't know if I feel shame doing it, but I know I don't necessarily like it. I mean Olive and Pam love it here! They're always posting TikToks about what it's like to be a stripper and they just seem to romanticize it and leave out the harsh reality. I mean for fucks sake when you were gone, Pam and some man's wife got into a physical altercation, Pam had to press charges."

"Shit. Is Pam okay?"

"Yeah, went on like nothing even happened. Can't imagine that's healthy. What about you?"

"What about me?"

"Do you like it?"

"Excuse me, ladies?" a man said.

You both immediately got up from your chairs. "Hello? Can we help you?"

The man looked to be shy and nervous; he wore a dark pinstripe suit and had been tugging at his tie when he approached the both of you. You had estimated that he had to be a few years older than you. Makayla had gone off to greet her regular, leaving you to cater to the unfamiliar man. "I was looking for a private session."

Private rooms meant one thing, you were alone and naked with a client. When you first started as an exoctic dancer, it was bit shocking to learn what could go on in these private, decorative rooms. You learned that you could do an "air dance," or you could do a lap dance, some dancers let the clients touch them -- rubbing their bodies on them, touch their breasts, or other form of touching, but no sex was to occur in the private rooms. Moreover, you also learned that each dancer makes their own rules towards these private sessions as Ezra lets you all.

"Follow me," you instructed him. Leading him to the private session zone of the club. "Ever done this before?"

"No."

"You can look, but you can't touch. Understood?"

"Understood."

But he did just that.

"Woah, no. You can't touch." you said backing away, "Other girls may let you touch, but I won't let you touch."

"Sorry." he apologized.

That was one of the issue you had read about in the feminist journals regarding sex work, it divided feminist. Some feminists, more liberal leaning ones state sex work is female self-determination and sexual liberation and they fight to de-stigmatize sex trade and reject the notion that they are victims in needing help. However, radical feminist state that sex work is sexual exploitation and gives power to the patriarchy, but they also call out accountability to those who buy sex. You understood both sides of the argument. (see link for more above).

Then, he did it again. Touched you.

You backed away, again. "I'm sorry I won't continue if you keep putting your hands on me."

"Why is that even a rule?"

"It is my rule. Now do you wish to continue?"

"Yeah, sorry. You're just really beautiful."

You'd heard that one before.

"No touching." you help up your finger like a mother discipling a child.

And then again. He touched you.

"Okay, no." you stood to your feet. “Anthony!"

Anthony came in, "Come on dude. You're finished."

"What?!"

You put your lingerie back on and watched from behind Anthony. Situations like this would happen at least twice a week on one of your scheduled days. They don't listen or get to drunk and begin to misbehave with one of the dancers.

"Yeah, you're done. You can't respect what the dancer says, you're done." he grabbed him by his pressed collar, "They make the rules, and I enforce the rules. You didn't listen to her, you're outta here."

"I want my money back!" he yelled.

"No refunds." you quickly added.

He threw a crumbled condom at you as Anthony dragged him out of the club. You quickly exited the private room. Now you were irritated and uncomfortable. Trying to stay coordinated on your feet, you quickly made your way to the back dressing room. Looking behind, you bumped into someone as you rounded the corner of the club. Your body full on hit them and their own hands steadied you by gently grabbing your upper arms.

You eyes grew wider, "Jack?"

Your perception was warped. Here you told yourself that there was no way in hell that you'd run into anyone you knew at this job. You know none of your friends would come to a strip club, as they were to 'pretentious,' your mom and dad lived in Florida, and you never really told people what you did apart from the fact that you work at a bar. So, when you saw Dr. Jack Abbot making sure you're steady on your feet in the strip club, you’re shocked. You presumed that someone like him would never step foot in a place like this. Or was that just your stereotype.

You felt sick at seeing him. "What are you doing here?"

He removed his hands, yet you could still feel his touch lingering. "Are you okay?"

"Fine." you said quickly, "What are you doing here?"

He looked at you, as if he was trying to decipher your words. You repeated yourself, "What are you doing here?"

Before he had the chance to answer you, Olive walked by and stared at the both of you. You turned your head away before cautiously watching her disappear into the dressing rooms. He looked at you, "A colleague of mine is celebrating being newly divorced. Interesting thing to celebrate."

"I see that more and more often. I mean this is a fitting place for newly divorced men, so who am I to judge." he went to say something, but you quickly interrupted. "I'm not a bartender. I say that because it's a lot easier to navigate in conversation than this. But, this job is paying for my tuition, books, and rent so I try not to complain."

"I wasn't gonna say anything." he replied.

"You'd be the first." you added, your breathing becoming regular.

You notice he went to say something but closed his mouth. You gestured to the dressing rooms behind him, "I better go finish what I was gonna do. Ezra told us we're spending too much time not doing our job, so I gotta go change and get back. It was nice seeing you again." you smiled as you slowly walked back towards the dressing room.

But.

His hand had wrapped around the palm of your hand. His hand was soft and gentle as he held your hand. “You sure you’re okay?”

You looked at his hand wrapped around yours. You held it back, more firmly compared to his gentle embrace. “I am now.”

You looked up at him, “Are you okay?"

He smiled too. "I am."

You were reluctant to let go of his hand, but when you heard someone coming from the dressing room, you let go. As you walked back to the dressing room, the hand he held, you held close to your heart. Your face was flushed pink when you finally saw yourself in decent lighting. But, you couldn’t stop smiling.

09:38 PM - TUES.

"Those came for you this afternoon." Ezra said as you walked into the dressing room, him leaving the changing room.

On the stretch of the vanity was a vase of flowers: a moody bouquet of dark purple and orange calla lilies, red lilies, and eucalyptus with a card poking out of the bouquet. Next to it was a small maroon gift bag with tissue paper poking up from the top. You put your bag down and plucked the card from the flowers.

You couldn’t help but be giddy inside because of it all. You removed the delicate paper and pulled out two cardboard boxes. Opening the small boxes with a wide grin plastered on your face to reveal a taser and pepper spray. You took the taser out of the cloth case and slide the button on the right side to reveal a flashlight; yet, pushing the button all the way up and pressing the red button on the left caused the taser to go off.

“Jesus fucking Christ!” Olive snapped as she turned around in the chair. “What the fuck are you doing?!”

“Sorry!” you apologized quickly and turned it off.

You placed your new items in your bag before digging around in tote to take out a smaller pepper spray, “Hey, Makayla? Do you want this? I just bought it.”

The new girls eyes lit up. “Yeah! Thanks!”

You placed the card in your wallet and carefully tucked it away deep in your purse before locking it up in your locker and grabbing your other bag that held all your dance outfits and a pair of heels. You were gonna make tonight a great night and hopefully have a better morning.

'Hey, Ezra! I have to leave at 6 in the morning! I have a thing for one of my classes with a few peers of mine. Sorry, it such a late notice, our professor just sprung it on us last night." you said as you put your feet into your heels at his office door.

"Whatever.”

You knew he wouldn’t argue with you.

07:14 AM - WED.

"Jack!" he heard his name being called.

You.

You were wearing a grey sweatshirt that had The University of Pittsburgh School of Law on the front with the universities crest with a simple pair of wide legged blue jeans and a pair of dirty Vans.

He tried to stop the smile from forming on his face, but he hadn't see you in a few days nor in this morning light. Every time he had the chance to see you it was always late in the night.

"Here I was thinking you only showed up in the dark."

You smiled. "I actually do prefer the daytime. Believe it or not."

"Tired of the night shift?" he questioned. The both of you started to walk down the sidewalk through the park that was across the hospital.

"Not quite." you smiled, "I also came by to say thank you for the taser and pepper spray. I appreciate it! Oh! The flowers too, they are gorgeous and sitting on my nightstand in my bedroom."

He smiled at you. "I'm glad you like them. I can't imagine that your job is particularly safe all the time."

Nodding, "It gets rough with all the handsy people, kinda made me hate when people touch me without permission, but I do okay. I do appreciate the forms of protection. Usually when I tell people what I do they look at me from a different perspective and that usually ends up in me getting, hmm, judged. The last time I told someone - my ex-boyfriend - he sent me a medium sized box filled with condoms. So, it was nice to receive such a gift without judgement. Like I said, I really appreciate it."

"It was no problem at all. My job shows me the aftermath of some violence that occurs." he stated, then added. "And, I'm sorry that your ex-boyfriend did that."

"I can only imagine what you see."

You stopped walking and looked at him. “Well, my apartment is that way. So, I’ll hopefully see you around, Jack.”

Hi @shinehalley, given that you are re watching Nautilus what were your thoughts on the progression of Humility and Nemo's relationship?

I like that a POC character is getting his time to shine after so long and having Nemo be played by Shazad Latif is icing on the cake. Plus it's rare to have a male POC have a romance and is seen as desirable because I for one like characters that are POC and can have relationships without going into the harmful racist stuff that Emerald Fennell is doing with her Wuthering Heights adaption which is so bonkers. Thankfully, I am glad Shazad got this role and he and Georgia play Nemo and Humility so well that their chemistry is off the charrts.

Second, I like that their first interaction/meeting got off to a rocky start because it gives the viewer this idea that these people who are from different worlds would somehow not work but somehow they do.

The disagreements they have with each other are valid because remember Nemo was once a prince who then became enslaved by the British and escaped then came Humility, a noblewoman who comes along and it completely changes not just their lives but their perceptions/perspectives of who they once were.

Third, their dynamic and evolvement of their feelings is key. Because while the time period is real, the relationship ia natural, real and come on..like who wouldn't fall for Nemo? Humility of all people.

I'm sorry for taking so long to answer this ask! Since there's SO MUCH to say about Nemo and Humility's relationship, I wanted to answer at a time when I could actually write about it, and I ended up forgetting!

When they meet, Nemo is an escapee from a prison that enslaved him and his entire crew, and Humility goes from being a hostage of her own mother to being a hostage of his. It's no wonder that animosity was the first response from both, with Nemo looking suspiciously at all the white people around him and Humility resenting yet another imprisonment. However, as they come to understand each other, open up about their histories, and realize that, in the grand scheme of things, they are not so different, their relationship shifts from complete animosity to the beginning of affection. It's subtle and happens as they spend more time together and experience the crazy adventures of the Nautilus, and I think it's beautiful that it's that way.

This allows Nemo to be a desirable love interest while not being completely restricted to the narrative of the white person he's paired with. Something that happens quite often between couples of different ethnicities in fiction. He has room to be kind, intelligent, and imperfect without being vilified and, most importantly, without letting his arc be completely centered on developing Humility's arc. I think it's a really nice touch that was added to the development of this couple, and it makes me even sadder if there isn't a second season.

Because even the fact that they didn't end up together at the end of the first season fits with both of their arcs being built in parallel with the development of the couple. Nemo still sees Humility as the other, as someone who can protect herself from the world if she wants, and, at the same time, as his equal whom he doesn't want to lose again. And Humility still sees Nemo as a man who believes himself superior, who will try to control her, and, at the same time, as her equal to fight back. For them to be together, they need to deconstruct this initial perception of each other, and everything they went through in the first season seems like an introduction to that for the future.

I think Nemo and Humility have a lot in common in terms of personality and intelligence, so it was obvious that affection would eventually develop between them, but there's a lot clouding their path. They removed some of those things in the first season and accepted that yes, feelings can arise between them, but there are still some things they need to deconstruct to be together, and I love the care they took with this couple and their development as a couple and individually.

GANGLE is so funny to laugh at her misadventures, poor girl she just can't take a win if her life depends on it, I want her to be happy, but overall nice to see more of her.

KINGER i love him, i love him, I [#$ಠ⁠益⁠ಠ!%] love him, he is the most wise/oblivious character I know, I love he is still there inside his head he still remember sometimes.

ZOOBLE yeah I get why they didn't want to go to the adventure, they was the most shock about Kaufmo abstraction that they stay to prepare everything I love them so much, they really care for the other's.

CAINE ... I guess he really is a ruthless IA without consideration about humans feelings, he doesn't even try to comprehend them and just do. I gonna miss Gummigoo.

NOW MY FAVORITE CHARACTER OF THE EPISODE.

POMNI I love how she managed to give Gummigoo some sense to his existence, she really doesn't want to feel like nothing and don't want anyone else to feel like that, and the funeral bring her some calm to not feel herself like nothing.

RAGATHA she really is my favorite for a reason, she really wants Pomni to enjoy at least her new existence, she is such a good ragdolly. And I'm glad she is a girl kisser lmao.

GUMMIGOO my god, this guy go beyond everything I ever had in mind is going to be the episode, I was so sure Jax was going to be the depress one in the episode, well this guy left me speechless, I hope he comes back in a future episode and his character arc go to the garbage.

November Plannin'

All right, I've been thinking it over, and I think I'm gonna have to pull the plug on my NaNoWriMo account. The AI thing irks me, because to me the organization seems to think that it doesn't matter if you use Chat GPT or some other damn thing to reach the goal. And I do think it matters, because to me the whole point of the exercise is that those 50,000 words come from me, and me alone. The only software I need is Notepad.exe. I only downloaded iA Writer because it was like a Notepad.exe for my phone, and I got FocusWriter because it's like Notepad.exe with a wordcounter.

I've heard about the Nano community, and the writing groups, and the public meet-ups, and I'm not knocking any of that stuff, but I never had any interest in that. I just used the website to keep score, and I guess that's what bugs me, because by refusing to condemn AI, they're basically insinuating that the score doesn't matter. "It doesn't matter what you wrote." Someone told me that once and it still gets me kinda hot.

NaNoWriMo doesn't care if I write the words or not. All the org seems to care about is having participants who'll buy the merch and click on their sponsors, or whatever. They're gonna do this shady crap and they take the participants for granted. "What are you gonna do? Leave? You need us to reach your writing goals!"

That's the message I get from them. That's what made me reluctant to decide, because it is handy, and there's a certain anxiety that if I give up the structure the site offers, I might not reach my goal.

And that's the "creative monster" I need to slay this year. When I was in college, I took a semester of creative writing, and there was an assignment called "Killing the Creative Monster", and I interpreted it as a sense of not having enough time to write. Things kept happening, and the stuff I wanted to do seemed like it would take too long with no certainty that it would be worthwhile. That was in 1998. In 2024, the Creative Monster is the idea that I'm dependent on NanoWriMo to get me where I'm want to be.

So I'm gonna close down my account on the site. But I'm not doing it right away, because first I'm gonna save all the stats and stuff that belong to me. We'll start with the banner image I put up on my profile.

This is Zack Sabre Junior. This year, he won the G1 Climax tournament. He made a big deal about how his career wouldn't be complete until he won the G1. Not just any G1, but this year's tournament. I just put this picture in my profile because I was digging his tag team stuff with Taichi a few years ago, but suddenly I'm reminded of him winning the G1 this year. It was a big deal. He's the first guy to win that I actually wanted to win.

I've won NanoWriMo seven times from 2017 to 2023. But that doesn't matter. Unless I win Unaffiliated Autumnal Writing Challenge (UAWC) in 2024, I'll always feel a bit unsatisfied. That's what this one is about. No pep talks from some author I never heard of because I'm too busy watching anime to read. No funky word-count widget that always malfunctions around midnight. Just me and this computer, and a bunch of tekkers. That's how we're gonna do this one.

Good. I finally feel fired up about this one. I was beginning to get nervous. Let's figure out what I need to work on.

Luffa Annual 6. Ironically, this one actually takes priority over the main fic, becuase it's the Christmas Special, so it has a hard deadline. I was gonna work on it last week, but I kind of blew it off.

I don't know that the annuals are all that popular, but I enjoy making them, even if they are a huge pain in the butt to figure out. I'm glad this is the last one in the set, but I won't just slap it together and call it good.

Tellurium. This is a weird side-bet I'm making here. On my main blog, I used to do a series on the discovery of the chemical elements, and this was the next one on my list back in, uh... 2016. The tricky thing here is that the writing is just part of the job. There's research that goes into this stuff, and I don't want to get lose a days' worth of wordcount trying to wrap my head around molecular orbitals. Call me a glutton for punishment. It'd be relatively easy to just do 10-12 Luffa chapters and call it a month, because I've done that before. I feel like this year needs to be trickier. Also, I really, really want to get Te in the books. I don't think I like the chemical elements more than Luffa, but it is telling that I'm even having that conversation with myself right now.

Luffa 225-234. Of course I still plan to stick with what brung me to the dance. Kakarot is behind me but this fic isn't finished. The problem is that I only have a nebulous plan on where to go from here, and it's coming together a lot more gradually than I thought it would. I plotted a cool scene on my commute this afternoon, so that's a good sign, but I need to be realistic here. Last year went really well because I was writing the Luffa vs. Goku fight that I had been dreaming of for years. Motivation-wise, I've got nowhere to go but down. But I had similar problems in 2018-2020, and I prevailed then.

That Bulma project I was horsing around with. Last year, there was some crank on Twitter getting pissy at anyone who shipped Bulma with any non-canon partners, like there's a rule or something. That kind of inspired me to try to do some shorter works featuring Bulma hooking up with different characters. I didn't get very far last year, but I liked having a side-thing that I could jump into whenever I got stuck with the main work.

You know, thinking about it, I really need to use 2025 to work on some non-Luffa fanfic. In the early years, I worried that working on a longfic would eat up time that I could use for one-shots, and I slowly acclimated to just focusing one thing. But now that the Goku fight is done, the pressure is off to finish Luffa before I die. I mean, it's still not finished, but the Goku fight was a major milestone, and I didn't like the idea of never getting that done.

I mean, I still get kudos on that Caulikale fic I wrote in 2018, and the Gochi thing I did. People like that stuff, and I'm pretty good at making it. Maybe I should run a poll.

I dunno, that's probably enough for now. I should go back to bed. But I feel a lot better about November than I did a few days ago, that's for sure.

1 Year Blog (Return) Anniversary- and thank you

It's been a while, huh?

Fly with you! I'm five days too late, but I reopened this blog on Oct 13, 2023. I wanted to celebrate here! You can read the rest of my thanks below (light cw mental health discussion)

I was dealing with my own personal stressors at the time when I closed the blog. I had shut it down because I wanted to focus on school- to keep it lighthearted. When I made the blog private, I wanted to wait for what felt like the "right time" to come back. I wouldn't say I came back at "the right time" for myself, but I am very happy to come back!

I impulse opened the blog cause I found an amazing surprise- many weeks later I came to find around 2000 notes combined on some of the special things I found on Archive. for some reason I was always embarrassed of myself of doing, of trying to find DF stuff on Archive oddly enough. But it payed off! And now, I don't really feel that way anymore, seeing how preservation is important and how many memories I helped you secure again. One year to the date IA is having an unprecedented DDOS attack to which I hope is resolved very soon...

I started the blog at 17 years old, and now I'm 22. But it hardly feels like it has been that long for me, as many world and personal events had shook up my life so to speak. In a way, this blog and Pixieblr (we can workshop that) has a very special place in my heart.

Thanks to artofdisneyfairies, ranibell (formerly Ask the Never Fairies), Darleen Enchanted/Plumwillow Pixie, Disney Fairies 2005-2007, Katzoo12/Disneyfairiesparadise, nabbing-nibs, zigazone, pixiehollovv (Mary). (sorry if there's more I missed) I feel like your blogs paved the way to where the community is today- and I'm glad there even is a Disney Fairies community to reminisce and enjoy. It's genuinely such a well crafted series, and I'm glad it gets some sort of attention and even had a sort of nostalgia lookback a few years back. Small but mighty pixies!

Year in review:

I shared some prototype drawings of Disney Fairies I found on a Japanese promotional site. Additionally, I secured a lot of notes with some pictures I found on the site XD

I archived around 5 Disney Fairies promotional disks

I found a PC version of the Create a Fairy game on one of these disks, a pink one sold around 2007

I found some interesting pictures and footage of early Pixie Hollow in a video by one of the companies that collaborated (Silvertree Media)

I started a Youtube archival channel and an extra archival blog!

Disney found the hype (or was just getting desperate) and is releasing new books, one middle grade series next month and a YA SOTW novel about Clarion and Milori in Feb 2025.

There's a ride at Fantasy Springs in Tokyo Disney Sea centered around the Tinker Bell franchise.

As for Kanej babies? I think they'll have two— a sweet boy and a lil girl.

So here's some HCs about Kanej and their babies:

Despite not being as famous amidst Kanej baby headcanons, I believe their first child will be a boy. And the second a really adorable daughter.

Ever since a young age their son loves hearing stories about his mother's hunt for wrongdoers on the seas and in the city (ofc Inej omits out the gruesome details).

He's entirely a mama's boy and his eyes glow up every time Kaz tells him that Inej will soon return from the sea. Whenever they reunite at the Fifth Harbor, their son's expression matches the joy on Kaz's face.

At a young age of mere 2 years, their daughter watches and learns how to unlock Inej's box of knives. She secretly unlocks it and happily hands the box to her elder bro of 4 years, who loves playing with the said knives. Inej is not pleased about it but Kaz's eyes shine with pride.

Their daughter is completely spoiled by Kaz. She asks for something, she gets it. She causes mischief? Kaz covers up for her. Their son sometimes teases her and calls a brat.

One time Inej isn't around and their son starts crying for some reason. Kaz isn't sure how to comfort him. He's pretty awkward but tries to talk with him. Their talk ends with Kaz getting a hug from his sobbing son. It takes time but Kaz slowly pulls him in his arms and gently strokes his back.

Its Kaz who always braids their daughter's hair and puts pretty ribbons in her hair. But when she turns 7, one day Inej finds her standing in front of the mirror trying, with the most concentrated expression, to braid her hair by herself because she's a “old enough” now. Inej smiles, pats her head and helps their little girl learn how to do it. They start going on shopping dates as well. Whenever Aunt Nina comes for a visit, she joins them and the fun just doubles!

Their son is more like Inej— fierce yet kind. He can blend into the shadows just like his mother and has an impeccable aim but most of the times he chooses the least violent methods. He can also do a bunch of simple card & coin tricks to distract his opponents.

Their daughter is more sharp witted, has a scheming face that resembles Kaz and the one who's deft at sleight of hand. But if need be, she can also fight and protect herself.

Kanej's son and Wesper's daughter have cute play dates where they show-off their knife and shooting skills. They stop and cover up by playing ordinary games if Inej or Wylan ever come to check up on them. Jesper and Kaz don't mind as long as no one gets hurt.
