Day 1, 2021 . Swim assessment with @coachjotridot & @s_cranson - a hard feat with only a couple of hours of sleep, a 6am wake up call & wind chill temps at close to freezing on a outdoor swim 🥶 . But, meeting these ladies and being accountable makes it a nonnegotiable for me. It wasn’t the most improved of swims but enough to increase my intensities in upcoming training days. . 2500M ☑️ and an awesome time with my teammates and coach/friends. Enjoyed laughing about how hard it was to get out of the pool and freezing together in a frenzy to change and warm up. 😂 . What a week! 🤪 . 3rd week of virtual learning in the bag. 💪🏼👊🏼Things are running more smoothly and the littles are becoming more and more independent. . . I tabled strength training the first 2 weeks of school because there was just not enough hours in the day. I could not make it work but did manage all the Tri training on schedule. 😁 . Swipe for a week’s worth of training. ➡️➡️➡️➡️ . This week, my body told me it was not pleased with that decision. On Monday, I got my swim in late in the day after Labor day family fun. . I stacked my workouts on Tuesday, threshold ride and easy run, making them a brick. A strange sensation in my leg that I couldn’t pinpoint over the weekend reared it’s head after the run. So, I decided I’d put running on hold until I figured it out. Wednesday, I did strength training and realized it was #sciatica (not my first time) - a shooting but hard to pinpoint discomfort running from deep in the glute, down the hamstring and even the leg and foot. . Thursday, a super early and EPIC group ride with my @bettydesigns sisters which gave me super powers & energy the rest of the day. . And then today, where I forced myself to roll, yoga, stretch and massage with @therabody before getting out to the pool turned out to be a fabulous idea. Sciatica is at bay! Yay! . So weeee to the weekend and attempting the skipped run tomorrow 🤞🏼(lots of soccer to maneuver workouts with too!) ⚽️ . Have an awesome weekend all! Earning the heck out of my Corona scare stripes these days. But since there’s no medal or badge for that, I’ll just wear this @ironmantri visor as representative swag for the virtual races I’m running week to week. . This week, we have our shortest distance yet...run 1.5k, bike 20k, run 5k (sprint distance) - my intent was to do it in one swoop but things change quickly around here so I’ll just do it as I can. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Leg 1 ✅ .
