“When we were younger, Lady Kashi and I would meet from time to time”
Do you have any thoughts about about all the lady characters? captain gigan. water tribes lile. the princess tao and the princess/queen kourien, zeno's kaya. tae-jun's mother. yon-hi, kashi, that princess who yona was kidnapped to try to replace. and what themes they might represent or enphasize by bouncing off eachother or the story in general?
Wow..that would be quite many people!^^
Alright. Let´s see...
Captain Gigan:
I do think that she is a tough person, who somehow became a mother for Yona and Jae ha...so she is actually a pretty kind and caring person.
Lily:
I think I could write definitely a huge wall of text, but I try to keep it short. Lily is a person that went out on her own accord to help her tribe. Lily is like the water that cannot be stopped, if she decides to do something. She is headstrong and has quite a complicated relationship to her father. Just like him, she is not good at expressing her feelings sometimes.
She pretends that she is much tougher than she actually is.
She is a person that is influenced by both Yona and Soo Won and therefore may be like a bridge between them. I guess, Yona is her first real friend and she values her greatly. She is in love with Geuntae, however that love is rather played for laughs. She and Soo Won get reguarlarly mistaken for a couple (and I personally ship them). She respects Soo Won and has an ambibious feeling regarding him and Yona. She considers him a good king, but is well aware that he is actually the enemy of Yona. She has a sharp intuition and is able to realize that Soo Won doesn´t wish for Yona´s death. I am pretty sure that she and the hairpin will definitely play a bigger role.
Princess Tao:
Tao appears young, docile and nice, however she also proves to have a strong will. She is far less brutal than her older sister Kouren. In contrast to Kouren, she was merely 2 years old, when the incident in Xing happened and was not that influenced by this. Therefore she was not that biased due to feelings.
Princess/Queen Kouren:
Kouren is a person with a lot of charisma, that wishes for the best of her country. She was heavily traumatized by the events in Xing and her eyes were clouded by hate. Typically she is shown to wear rather men´s clothing and has short hair as an expression of her strength...i guess. In order for her country to win, she would try to use every means. She was deluding herself to think that they could win against Kouka and had to painfully realize that a huge bloodbath would ensue for which she would have been responsible. This broke the spell pretty much...However, Kouren is a pretty compassionate person as she took even this broken soul in (Mizari). At the end of the day, Kouren agreed to negotiate with Soo Won. That was quite hard for her. She dislikes the priesthood, since they try to manipulate the people.
Both Tao and Kouren may equate as conflictive siblings to Yu hon and King Il. There were quite even illusions and misunderstandings between them.Tao who wishes like King Il for peace and who would give power away and Kouren who would defend her country until her last breath resembles Yu hon.
Iguni
That person is a rather cool woman who was superficially a friend of Kashi, even though she did not know her that well. Iguni is an example of a woman that had to marry and not the man she loved. She is of course an ally of Yona.
Kaya:
Kaya was Zeno´s breaking point. Up until that point he had never rebelled against his destiny. Yet she is also the one who showed him how to go on with life. She became his strength. Zeno adopted some of her weird behaviour. I do think he adopted her way of calling himself by his name as to remind himself that he was still there. Kaya was thankful for being alive and was pretty much like Zeno would become later...
Yon hi
It seems that she felt controlled by fate. The guilt regarding her mere existence gnawed on her. She loved her husband, but I do think a part of her also considered him a monster. Maybe she had such a bad impression of her son, since she saw the father in him? Regardless, she as well as Yu hon show, why Soo Won developed like he did. She completely gave up to go against her fate, while Yu hon tried strongly to negate any kind of fate. Soo Won followed him on that path.Still, she is still a part of Soo Won, since he wears his hair like his mother. How he had to surpress a great part of his feelings in order to fulfill the expectations of his parents. Yon hi dependend on her 9 year old son after the death of her husband...
Kashi:
She is a puzzle. She seems to be solely a vessel for the thoughts of the gods. Merely there to bear Yona and tell the words of the gods. She became a shrine maiden, she married King Il for the reason that Yona was born. Even her death served the purpose of getting rid of Yu hon. What were her real thoughts? Kashi was even contradicting herself, since she wished to bear Yona, but later tells Yon hi that she is just a mere human being ( with 4 super strong protectors of course!).
I am sorry I don´t remember the last one...^^ But I hope the ones I got can be of help!
So does this mean that Kashi escaped to the Fire Tribe after the expulsion? And that's how she became friends with Iguni?
Mooooooomsssss
Yona’s like:
“Iguni pls”
“Danger? I laugh in the face of danger”
“areyousrs”
“I can shoot arrows through people from miles away”
(lmao don’t mind me I’m just having a little fun with this page)
(but seriously, Iguni, I love ya and all but I think our girl’s got this)
Aawww Mama Iguni smile, like in yer face that's ma boy! 😏
