Chopped off my hair today! - What many don’t realise is that this wasn’t JUST a style choice it was actually largely because of my #ehlersdanlossyndrome - So here’s the thing because of my weak connective tissues 6 weeks ago I injured my neck and damaged one of the nerves that goes to my hand. This meant the weight of my hair when it was wet was incredibly painful and I also couldn’t bring my right arm up to my head so hair washing and brushing was a painful and difficult experience. Things have calmed down a bit with my neck injury but I still have hare accessibility issues! With my hand function how it is I haven’t found any hair clips or pins I can use to gain some control! Thanks to #PoTS I sweat excessively and one of the worst areas is my head which was already meaning extra painful hair washes. I’m at a point in my life where I have bigger things to spend my time on than trying to wash my hair with one hand. So what do my posts about #boots and #haircuts tell you today? Don’t judge a book by its cover people with EDS are #fragilebutunbreakable but you can’t see there struggles while looking at them! - #EDSAwarenessMonth #dontjudgeabookbyitscover #newhair #accessiblehaircare #accessiblehair #thingsnormalpeopledontthinkabout #EDSAwareness #EhlersDanlos #Disability #disabilitylifechoices #invisableillness #invisabledisability #invisabledisabilities #zebrastrong #brokenbutbeautiful #workingit @ehlers.danlos @ehlersdanlosuk
