Iris/Barry + Camelot

I’m so behind on this series ; ; the last I saw was… Joe being threatened by the Reverse Flash? And Barry fucking things up as Flash with Iris and Eddie because of Emotions Colour Villain Rainbow Raider?

Okay, my instinctual thought was the classic Arthur/Guinevere/Lancelot triangle. And then I decided no, there is too much of that in canon already even without the royal/loyal/knighthood stuff.

So THEN my next favourite tale is the loathly lady one with Sir Gawain. Lady Iris, seeking an answer to a question posed by a Mysterious Stranger in Yellow, meets ANOTHER mysterious stranger. But in red. Who is secretly her oldest dearest friend under a curse and he doesn't want to tell her because omg she'll hate me forever. And then one thing leads to another and somehow someone else decides that Barry's reward for telling Iris the answer is to marry her. Which. What to do.

...this is getting away entirely from the original tale but meh.

Now I'm reminded of that part in YJ where (that one episode that was a training exercise gone wrong) Iris and Barry can't talk to each other because secret identities, so they just stare into each other's eyes and he puts a hand on her shoulder. And then he races towards the aliens and seemingly gets blown up and before the news feed cuts you hear her screaming.

Like, I kinda want that to happen on the CW show, but I also kinda don't.
