Is this ableism? I, really don't know but it feels weird.
Talking to mom: "yeah I got diagnosed with ADHD and I'm getting tested for ASD soon"
Her, in an accusatory tone: "you're happy about that aren't you"
This sounds ableist, from the context given- why be accusatory when your child is getting diagnosed and learning about themselves? You deserve support and I'm so happy for you in getting diagnosed :))
the other day i was being forced to wash the dishes regardless of me communicating multiple times that its a sensory hell and i made a comment to my dad that i could never work in food business
(too loud, too fast paced, mean people, touching old food is bad HORRIBLE textures, the smell of the food makes me nauseous)
and he got all snarky and was like “no you could! you just dont want to”
ok
well
in theory i COULD and i told him that BUT
I would have massive breakdowns every single day in and out if work. i would be so exhausted every single day after work that i would never do anything for myself all my free time would be just recovery. Literally going to a restaurant as a CUSTOMER is too much for me
and he was just like “you dont know, youve never worked a real job”
?? daycare attendant isnt a real job?
First of all:
RUDE. I will not accept this slander and defamation against me and my people from WebMD (of all people), a chronically outdated resource on mental health etc.
Second:
I do my best with diet and health, and I'm sure many other schizospec do too. Not really my fault for believing all the marketing propaganda that margarine was actually good for us and never really changing it.
Only just learning now that margarine (including my Olivani Lite spread I've been using for butter spread all these tears) may not be the best for you.
Any dietary advice is welcome atp, just don't try and make me go on keto bc I haven't the capacity (nor finances) for that (as yet). Plus highly-restrictive diets make me feel uncomfy for Reasons.

i’m getting bullied for not having 20/20 vision i see :////

Or rather, last week but I haven’t been able to get to a computer to post this. Spoonie life, y’all!

Up until adulthood my mum forced me to eat brussel sprouts despite triggering my gag reflex, was this ableism?
Yes
No
I was allowed to pinch my nose or wash it down but I couldn't refuse
