Will the podcast cover Gothamite Folklore and Urban Legends?

That is a wonderful question, thank you for your curiosity!

Personally, I love the idea of digging into the city's past, fiction or no. I believe there is value in what stories make up our collective psyche. However, goth-pod will mostly be focusing on topics popular with the Gotham City of today.

Though, there is one ghost story that stalks our streets in current day. So if you're hoping we discuss the crime fighting Chiroptera, then you're in luck.

So i've recently found this podcast (and loving it!) and i wanted to ask a few things:

can you make a episode about Scarecrow

have you heard about the Batman fear toxic rumors

what is your currant take on the robins

Welcome listener!! I'm so glad you're enjoying our little project!

I'm so excited about your interest and curiosity, so lets get into it:

1. In the Rogues Gallery Episode we discussed the concept of our beloved and loathed rogues, but didn't get to go into detail to any one specific being. For our first season, we're going to continue on the belief that talking about one rogue might attract the attention of others. Maybe next season! When we can dedicate more time to getting details right. (And to keep the prideful at bay.)

2. Is that the one that theorizes Batman is a collective hallucination? A sort of self-severing specter to keep our own morals in line?

Or am I way off? Please feel free to send in another ask to explain it! I'm always curious to hear what's on the mind of our local listeners.

3. Anon, are you psychic? Have our end of season plans been leaked? Either way, your third question will be answered in Episode 9! (Releasing today!)

just listened to ep 5. fuckin- BRUCEMAN??????? HELLO????

Bruceman! It's one of those Gotham Things that's hard to explain or defend, so I don't think I could try to do so here.

One of my complaints with the ship is the name. Why not "BruceBat" or something of the like? Bruceman sounds like what Wayne would come up with if he tried to become a superhero himself.

hello wanted to issue a small correction: while other cities do have bat populations , we are unique in the fact that we have an endemic species :

Wayne's False Vampire bat (Megaderma Gothamiensis)

Named for the discovering family(there is debate as to which Wayne discovered them), This bat is exclusively found in Gotham and surrounding forests. The species is dark grey to black with a rufous throat patch. They feed on a variety of fish,insects,frogs, birds,rodents ,and occasionally other bat species.

I've done some research into the folklore surrounding them and there is quite a bit which I will disclose in a different message if you are interested

Listened to the first episode!

My Mum has a story about The Bat , from when she worked for Penguin. I've included it below as it was told to me:

One a' the other goons [Dan Millers] was roughing up his kid. I never saw it but everyone except The Boss[who woulda fired im on the spot] knew. The goon looked up one night and saw a pitch-night dark shadow that cocked it's head like an owl and dropped down on him. He hit the ground and woke up in the hospital two days later. He would shriek every time the lights went out.

His wife had him moved to an out of state sanitorium after a month . He would always mutter "It hunts , it hunts in the dark,it knows,it always knows" and sometimes would yell about "The Bat, the Bat is coming"

Stories like this make me endear to the Bat even more. He is a terrifying force, a cryptid, he is shadows- and he is a protector, first and foremost.

Omg the latest episode ate!!!

I was a goon for Poison Ivy and one time we got busted by Batman when we were in the Police Vans he was one the roof talking to a Cat Lady (furries in love?) Robin went like "gross stop flirting" and the while van gasped. I can't believe Batsy would do Brucie like that. 😞

Everyday- EVERYDAY I get closer to wanting to be a gossip podcast. I go to Kit and I go "Please!! Please can we do a Gotham Rumors episode??" And Kit says no and says there's enough dogs in the media hounding for the next scandal and we deal with truths in Gotham and etc etc..

Of course Kit is right. But, at the same time, gossip was one of the first pillars of communication. A place for people to share ideas and ideals when they normally couldn't. There's a reason you tell your best friend things you wouldn't tell anyone else.

What I'm trying to say: thank you for compliment, and thank you for the intel. I find it highly valuable and incredibly entertaining! But, we must be careful when discussing things we might not have the full story for.

Batman has two hands, after all. Allegedly.
