You know when you get an idea and you just HAVE to tell someone or you feel like you’re gonna explode… that’s me right now.
So…
How I think Kingdom Hearts 4 Will Be Like
Do I have any evidence…? not really
Is this what I want in the game…? Yes
Do I think this would make an awesome game…? Yes!
ONTO THE IDEA!
I think KH4 will take a brand new direction as being part of a new arc.
I do not think Sora will be in the Disney worlds. I think we will get part of the game following him in Quadratum where he will be fighting heartless, hanging out with people, and just trying to live.
Now, how I think the gameplay could be done (this is just an idea, and I think it would work super well): Run the game on a day/night cycle. Sora gets up and has stuff to do, maybe a job or hanging out with friends. There will be a story as well, and after you reach a certain point, the game will switch similarly to DDD.
To make this section super unique, I think it would be cool to have a number of NPCs, whether they be Keyblade wielders like Strelitzia or regular people, show up. However, some will only be available to meet on certain days, so if you missed meeting them one day, you loose the chance. But on a second play through you could meet them and have a unique gameplay experience, increasing replayability. During these times, there might be small friendship quests or just hanging out. But then everything could get interrupted by a call that heartless are attacking (think similar to how Miles got phone calls in the Miles Morales game), and Sora has to drop what he’s doing to help. Now these fights could be solo with Sora, or maybe Strelitzia or another Keyblade wielder or even regular hero person could either be there first and Sora could help or they jump in with him.
Having this much variety would make this section super fun to replay. And I could see the story plot for this section having to do with Yozora, whatever is happening in Missing Link, or something else and play out more like a mystery where you have to seek out answers, but it would
Now, as I said earlier, after you reached a certain point, the game would switch like DDD.
And you would play the other side as Kairi.
And I know some people are going to ask about Riku, but I don’t think Riku will be in a good place. I think he will either get stuck after fighting Yozora and get crystallized like Sora did in the bad ending of the fight with Yozora, or he will get trapped in Quadratum like Sora.
And I think this because in the first trailer, it is stated by Sigurd that “once you come to this world, there is no going back”. But we know with the small Missing Link info we have that there IS a way, but I don’t think the Power of Waking is it. I think Riku will get stuck.
And narratively, it would work better for Kairi to take up the lead on saving them. She has been knocked down, and her already shaky confidence shattered by what happened to Sora, and she probably blames herself. And we could see that she does not have confidence in herself. So this is the perfect time to give it to her. And it also doesn’t make sense for Sora to visit Disney worlds as… how could he even get there.
So, how I think the Kairi side will go…
I think she will be training with Terra, Aqua, and Ven. At first she will probably try to get the Power of Waking, but I could see Aqua pointing out that as a Princess of Heart, she may have a power unseen by any of them before, so I bet we will have 5 Disney worlds for her to visit the other new seven hearts, of which we know three: Rapunzel, Anna, and Elsa. I also think there will be hints to Ven’s backstory and Missing Link stuff as well.
Now, how I think the gameplay could go. I think you get to choose who accompanies Kairi to these worlds to help with her training, and that would determine her skills as a character. Like if you trained with Terra, Kairi’s strength and attack power would go up. If you trained with Ven, you would get more abilities that have to do with speed. If you trained with Aqua, you’d get a magic boost. And you could mix and match on each world, making Kairi’s skill set customizable based on your choices.
This would also affect dialogue choices as well. Depending on who goes with her, she could have very different conversation with each character, and slightly different interactions with the Disney characters as well. All of this would make things incredibly replayable.
Now there would probably be some worlds, such as visits to Radiant Garden, Twilight Town, or other such non-Disney worlds, that would have a set character. Like maybe Ven would go with her to Twilight Town, Terra to Radiant Garden, and Aqua to the islands or even Scala.
So… that’s basically my idea. I think this would be a fun way for KH4 to go, and it would be a unique direction while holding some of things that we love about the series, while allowing it to step into a new arc and direction.
Ok, I’m done now.
hey guys i think i know whats in the box
“well, what’s in the box?”, you may ask. it’s just below the cut:
Now I'm Considering™
Sora is in Quadratum and will be fighting Heartless there. Now since he was fighting Darkside, this could just be the tutorial.
And given that Donald and Goofy are reaching out to Hades to find Sora, it's possible they could show up fairly quickly and we'll have the normal trio system.
However!
Streletzia.
This girl is a keyblade wielder. We also know that Riku will be in the neighborhood...
Could we have a Sora, Streletzia, and eventually Riku party? 🤔
So this is a theory I wrote last year, some time after Ux ended. If there are inconsistencies it's normal.
Let's start with the case of Strelitzia. At the end of UX, we learn that when a Keyblade holder dies, he has the choice to fall asleep (the Chirithy absorbs the heart of the holder in order to protect him, thus taking the form of the Dream eaters of 3D) but he can also choose not to do so, so his heart will melt into another one (the case of the Player whose heart melted into that of Xehanort).
Basically the reincarnation.
(The part where I was wrong)
But it was never said that the other Keykids couldn't do the same so why not Strelitzia? So let's say Strelitzia decided to stay awake and her heart melted into another, which means Strelitzia would have been reincarnated into a character we may or may not know.
So a possible return in kh4? (Confirm)
(Now the part that was denied since Nameless Star and Strelitzia are not related)But let's imagine that it is the case, and that Strelitzia would have been reincarnated in the friend of Yozora namely Nameless Star. (We'll call her NS here.) -or at least that she would have a link with her.Especially since the game never stressed that it was impossible to be reincarnated in a "Fictional" universe.
Roughly speaking, Strelitzia is possibly NS who Sora can talk to in the final world, because she was killed by "someone" and she is waiting there for Sora to recognize someone whose heart was crushed by someone else's (Lauriam/Marluxia).
By the way Strelitzia is the name of a flower and flowers are very much associated with Lauriam/Marluxia.
Speaking of Yozora there are a few things I noticed:
Xehanort starts with an X and Yozora has a Y and a Z.(X Y Z).
But let's imagine that Nomura decides again to give us a complex on the letter Y or Z like he did with the X during the whole arc.Let's assume that all this is true.Since Strelitzia has a Z in her name it would mean that she could be related to Nameless Star and Yozora.
There are also things about Yozora that remind me of 4 characters from the saga. These characters are: Roxas, Sora, Riku and the nightmare Dream eaters.
Roxas : For the posture which is very similar and the fact that these two characters hold a weapon in each hand
Riku: For the haircut but also for his behaviour, even though he is not shown much on screen, reminds me of Riku.
Dream eaters nightmare= for his red eye (I'll talk about it later.)
Sora: For his blue eye which is associated with the famous "Gazing eye" which is associated with the MoM.
So why would Sora be associated with the Gazing eye? Well the fact is that this eye is associated with Mom and he would have blue eyes, so I'm referring to the Sora=MoM theory
.But let's keep this hypothesis in the back of our minds and talk about Demyx. He is one of the most mysterious characters of the saga.we don't even know who his someone was.but for this theory we will call his someone Medy to make the theory stick.
Kingdom Hearts 4 (or God only knows what it will be called) will be the 13th game in the saga. The letter M is the 13th letter of the alphabet. And Demyx has an M in his name and also a Y.So he might have a link with Yozora, but also and certainly with MoM.
Now we have to talk about Luxord who is also one of the characters about whom we know almost nothing.Luxord starts with Lux which is not without reminding the Luxs in ux or even Luxu.BUT, the fact is that Xigbar is Luxu.Luxord is also known as the 'player of destiny'. He too may or may not have a close connection to the Mom (who is literally a diviner).
This scene in re mind where Luxord talks to Xigbar about the Black Box is very interesting. He even declares that he's still playing dumb. And after Luxord left asking Xigbar who he really was, Xigbar said, "The question is, who are you Luxord? In kh2 Xemnas would have said that members 9-12 were chosen to awaken the ancient Keyblade heritage within them. This means that Luxord must have lived through the events of Union X but lost his memory like the others, and this is probably and certainly the case for Demyx/Medy.
So:
Strelitzia is the Nameless Star and would have a link with Yozora.
Yozora would have a link with Riku,Roxas,Sora and the nightmare dream eaters
Demyx is probably a former Keyblade holder during the events of Ux, and would have a link with Yozora.
Luxord is also probably a former Keyblade bearer during the events of Ux and would have a link to the MoM.
And Sora would have a connection to MoM or vice versa.
But it doesn't end there.I think some of the Ux characters also reincarnated after their death into characters we know.
Ephemere: Could be a heart asleep in Sora's heart (As seen in Kh3 at the moment)
Skuld: Could be Kairi (by the fact that she seems rather peaceful which can be associated with a princess of heart) (or at least she became subject X who died and was reincarnated in Kairi, especially if we remember the scene at the beginning of the game in Melody of memory).
Brain: Is said to be related to Eraqus because of the Keyblade and the physical resemblance (which is finally proven since Baldr mentioned that Eraqus' grandfather had fought the darkness. Brain is essentially confirmed as his ancestor)
Lauriam:Became his Nobody Marluxia
Elrena: Became Larxene (Especially since the fact that she woke up in a place with a storm, proves that it is true due to her powers associated with lightning).
Ventus: Did not die.
Player: Reincarnated as Xehanort.
But Brain's case confuses me, at the end of Ux we realize that there are two of them, one left with the black box and the other landed in Scala.
I think that Luxu would have forced Brain into the shuttle, and that his heart would have gone to the future and Luxu would have taken his body, which could explain why there would be two Brains at the end.So in fact we can imagine that the events could have happened like that:Luxu took Brain's body but sent his heart to the future. You can't let your body go through time, only the heart goes and you need a medium and someone to remember you when you arrive. I think the reason Ephemer couldn't go forward is because he didn't have a medium. Luxu took Brain's body and sent his heart forward. I think an even better proof for this is the MEANS Brain uses to travel. It's his own hat. Luxu had to take his body and at some point travel to Scala to deliver the hat OR is/meets the person who meets Brain when he arrives. Ephemer didn't have Brain's hat unless Luxu gave it to him, and Luxu didn't have it in his reveal. The only other reason I think Luxu is really there when Brain arrives is because someone at the arrival point must have memories of you. Ephemer is long gone and no one else should have any real memories of Brain.
Now, let's talk about Sora.Sora -as said before- would have a link to the MoM because of the gazin eye.
We know he is Quadrentum/Verum rex/Fictional World.
But there are just a few things I noticed...In the 3D cover there might be foreshadowings.
We see Riku, rising to a clear sky, so light.Mickey falling and trying to catch Sora who is falling towards a darker sky. What if Kh4 was making a return to the source but reversing the roles?
Sora, becoming manipulated by the darkness and Riku having to save him...Especially since Sora would have every reason to sink into the darkness.
The fact that he thinks he's weak and useless without his friends, his failure at the mastery exam, and especially something that could happen...Loneliness.
Sora is in an unknown world, alone, except for Yozora -who can't really be considered as an ally- MoM somewhere on a roof.Sora is alone, so without his friends.
And the fact that he feels useless without his friends can push him down even more.
To make a point, Xehanort had even planned this. Why does almost every incarnation of Xehanort expect Sora to fall into darkness?
Why was Young Xehanort doing a monologue about the power of solitude in the toy box?
Why did he kill Kairi, precisely?
Because Xehanort had calculated it. He knew that by killing Kairi, he would somehow succeed in defeating Sora.
Sora would sacrifice himself for Kairi, while Sora would disappear and land in Quadrentum where he could probably suffer from loneliness.
The master of masters could even play his part in Sora's downfall, much like Maleficent did in Riku's during kh1.
To return to the case of Yozora, you have to talk about someone you have forgotten.
Anti black coat.3D's boss
It's about Riku's Nightmare which is a Dream eater.
And if Yozora was Anti Black coat?
That would explain the reason for the surprisingly similar appearance with Riku, and it could even explain the posture resembling that of Roxas, which would mean that the two are indirectly linked (since Roxas was in Sora's heart during 3D...)
So Yozora is Sora's nightmare, and no one has ever pointed out that nightmares can't protect their wearer.
After all, Yozora did say that he wanted to save his life...
This theory is finally over, it's a mess and can be dismantled very easily but thanks for reading it to the end.
KH3 DLC AND KH4 THEORY
So I have a KH3 DLC and KH4 theory, SPOILERS AHEAD FOR ANYBODY WHO HASN'T FINISHED KH3!!!
We good? Okay.
I think Kairi might be in the datascape!
Ok, so remember back to KH1 when we saw Kairi's memories while we were in Hollow Bastion, talking to her Granny about the kids of light and such. So she would've been there in Radiant Garden when Ansem the Wise was doing all of his weird research. I think there's a possibility that since Kairi was a princess of heart, he did experiments of the heart using Kairi for research.
Now think of the Mystery Star in the Final World, she said her identity was stolen, but not her heart because her heart pined for another. I'm going to assume she's Skuld, and the missing girl that suddenly the Xehanort's are all so interested in.
Now think of Namine, who for some reason can manipulate Sora's memories but also implant stuff into Repliku's mind too? What if her base power is based on Kairi's unknown abilities to see memories in people's hearts? What if that's Kairi's princess power? And what if Ansem the Wise used that ability to look into Skuld's memories and learned about the Dandelions and the other Keyblade Wielders who fell in the keyblade war who now reside in the datascape? What if he learned about the datascape through Skuld? And what if since Kairi was so young that things go scrambled? So like what if Kairi knows about Skuld and all of this info, so her own memories got messed up before she got sent to Destiny Islands for her own safety?
And Ansem the Wise was seen as a very kind man, right? What if he tried to rescue the Dandelions from the Datascape? But could only revive Ventus, Lauriam, and Arlene? And he said he ruined countless lives already, right? What if he was unsuccessful in reviving some of the dandelions and it resulted in letting out a bunch of Darklings (the fallen hearts of keyblade wielders) and maybe creating a bunch of heartless?
Right, so back to Kairi in KH3, WHAT IF they figured out that Kairi might have a connection to Skuld, so instead of actually killing her, they made a REPLICA of Kairi to destroy in front of Sora so he would assume she was lost and would therefore not look for her when they kidnapped her, cuz he would assume her heart's lost? Right, so they knew he would go hopping through darkness and worlds and whatever with the power of waking because he did that before. He would get himself lost, and meanwhile they would use the real Kairi to find Skuld. The whole dead Kairi being a replica they destroyed matches up with the fact that she didn't have a heart when she exploded AND she looked like glass, which is what Xion resembled when her body was being destroyed in 358/2 Days.
So if they were trying to mess with Kairi's mind to figure out what she knows, they might hide her in A DATASCAPE! When the Xehanorts kidnap Ansem the Wise in KH3, why would they go to the mansion? To use the Datascape! So it's kind of established that they've been messing around there already. But I bet they don't know that Ienzo has set up a network with that computer. And Nomura said that DLC might have something to do with Kairi and Xion WHICH LEADS ME TO THIS!
What if Xion, being briefly part of the new Organization XIII, knew about them wanting to mess with the Datascape? She said near the end of KH3 that she had a feeling that Kairi was alright, which was weird because her heart isn't bound to Kairi's in the way Sora's is, even if she was sleeping inside Sora for a bit, it didn't make sense for her to sense Kairi in that way, unless she already had a feeling that the Xehanort posse had something up their sleeves. And the Xehanorts wouldn't kill Kairi if they knew she might have info concerning Skuld, would they? Nope, they'd probably try to throw them off the trail with a fake Kairi. So I think Xion knowing Organization XIII's general plans might be the one to put two and two together and tell everybody that hey, Kairi might be in a datascape!
Another thing I have to support this is again the ending, it's Sunset, very similar to how Twilight Town is always sunset in the Datascape. I think that Kairi's datascape prison has her and her buddies all at the beach, but she knows it's not real so she stays separate from all of it, she's not buying into the illusion, which is why she cries when she sees Sora there. And if you remember Recoded, Data Sora coming into contact with some of the data makes it disappear when he's done interacting with it. So Kairi dissolving the illusion of a Sora in her datascape would literally make it disappear, hence why she'd be sad.
So I think that in KH4, Kairi breaks free from her datascape prison, but she's still stuck. My theory is that the datascape is like our internet, it's HUGE. And in KHUX, in the upcoming update, the dandelions make their way through wreck-it ralph's universe when bugs start happening with the datascape. Which makes me think there could be countless worlds in the Datascape, just like we have countless websites. Now here's where Sora and Riku pop in. Now what if Xion's like HOLD THE PHONE, GUYS, so Riku contacts Sora, and they hop in the datascape to find Kairi. Another thing to support this idea is the very presence of Yozora who is supposed to be a video game character, so if he exists, he would exist in an internet space or DATASCAPE! What if the Datascape is so vast that Sora and Riku split up to find Kairi, who just escaped the beach datascape and is fighting her own way out. So the three have to find each other again and get Kairi out!
And of course we saw the Master of Masters in there too, right? Master of Masters supposedly disappeared, but what if it's because he disappeared INTO THE DATASCAPE? :D
Whoo, that's a lot to type out, but I want to hear your insights!
Also more things to support the Datascape thing, I don’t think this magical forest where Kairi and Lea can train is really a thing, I think it’s another datascape, because again, SUNSET. Always sunsets in the datascape. Like maybe the twilight is another symbolic thing to represent datascape, not dead but not alive, not day but not night. The old keyblade wielders in the datascape fell in battle but their hearts are data. Not dead but not alive. So if Lea and Kairi were training in a datascape, they could train at the speed of light, and that’s how Lea could carry ice cream in his pockets, and that’s why Merlin had to get them stuff, cuz Merlin is a user. And again, that’s why there would be two different time settings in the ending of KH3, like sure maybe the gang DID play on the beach at the end at DAYTIME, but kairi’s having a very similar occurrence in her datascape at SUNSET, which to me symbolizes datascape.
Also I just learned that the DLC is going to be called RE:MIND. HMMM! SEEMS VERY SIMILAR TO RE:CODED WHICH WAS IN THE DATASCAPE!
Kingdom Hearts 4: The Traitor?
Okay so this is a quick theory made after talking about this on the discord server where he dissected the scene of Eraqus placing the Foreteller pieces for his and Young Xehanort’s ‘New Game’.
Now, we see that the pieces are as followed;
Aced - Bear
Ira - Unicorn
Master Of Masters - Symbol on the cover of the Book of Prophecies
Luxu -Goat
Invi - Snake
Gula - Leopard
Ava - unknown shaped piece (sorry I could not tell what this piece was meant to be since we don’t get a good look at it beyond this angle)
It’s pretty self-explanatory, with the only question being about the last piece, what it is meant to be and who it’s meant to represent since Ava doesn’t appear in the Keyblade Graveyard. It could very well be someone else.
But that’s not what I wanted to address, but rather the next shot we get of the board. This is;
This shot is given with a short pan that cuts before they get to the mysterious could-or-could-not-be-Ava piece nearest to the window. We see the camera highlight Ira, the Master of Masters, Luxu, Invi and Gula.
Aced, however, is not shown in this shot despite his bear being right beside Ira.
And we know that Aced also returned in the Epilogue, while Ava - who is also not shown in this shot - didn’t.
Is it possible that Aced could decide to once more turn against the MoM and become the traitor he prophesied? Could Aced join the GOL or simply attempt to track down Ava who he trusted to make an alliance with in Backcover?
Jokes about possible future Thunder-only KH4 Vader boss runs aside, I think that confrontation in Return of the Jedi would be good place to unpack Rage form story and theme-wise.
Doesn't have to be a one-on-one but it would be a nice parallel to draw between Luke choosing the light despite dipping into the dark to beat Vader.
