The Zone Popularity Contest

So, every year, purely for the knowledge and safety of the citizens of Battery City, BLI/nd releases the top one hundred most dangerous outlawed individuals, mostly consisting of Killjoys, obviously.. The Zones use it as the years biggest bragging event. Doc offers prizes for the top ten most “dangerous” but since the Four always come in second, third, fourth and fifth place, Doc prohibits them from collecting prizes anymore. But of course, Doc always comes in first for being a motormouth insurrectionist.. and claims the top prize for himself. Because.. fairness.

In the Zones when u learn to drive, instead of the dad safety meter paper that covers 70 and over, there’s a piece of paper covering up until after 40 miles per hour, to make sure you’re not going to slow.

Suddenly realized that my Au is getting some traction!! I’ll briefly summarize it rn, but will go more in depth eventually, possibly in character on this blog.

Fallout Fire is a 19 yr old from the city, who started transitioning from female to male when he was 11. My hc for Bat city is that they’re tolerant towards trans people only if it is kept a quiet affair and to keep being the perfect citizen. Surgeries are offered, but chances are you won’t come back out, so Fallout hasn’t had top surgery.

Fallout is brought to the desert after stumbling upon some killjoys raiding a store on the outskirts of the city. Dracs are Dumb and the killjoys knew even if they saw the city boy mixed up in their group, they’d shoot him on the spot if the crew didn’t do something.

So the crew (still figuring out a name) kidnapped fallout basically, and left him with their friend Texas Red in zone 2. Texas Red helped Fallout through the withdrawal from the pills he took so often and explained all that he knew about the desert to fallout. During this time, after he was sober and coherent that is, fallout went by Clover, since he didn’t want to use his city name and hadn’t found his desert name yet.

Time passes, and he gets a hawk named Charlie (literally haven’t figured that out at All yet but my idea is that the Phoenix witch was like Yo there’s an abandoned baby bird over here and ur also kinda abandoned HahA symbolism)

by this time he’s been wandering farther into the zones, having left Texas Red and wanting to go off on his lonesome (with Charlie of course) when he stumbles upon a building In.. uhh zone 4/5 haven’t decided yet. He explores it, and decides to make it his home so he DoES YEET

It turns into Trans Traffic, a store for ‘joys to get binders, gaffs, hormones etc. after about a year of it being there, he finally finishes cleaning and furnishing the hidden basement/bomb shelter thing to have an operating room for surgeries. Haven’t figured out HOW the surgeries are done bc he’s Not a surgeon but I’ll figure it out eventually!!

He accepts pretty much anything as payment, be it carbons, food, water, clothes, donations etc. he makes the binders + gaffs himself, with an old sewing machine he had Texas red fix up for him. He gets the hormones from someone within the city who goes by Mother Goose.

Yeah!! That’s all I have so far, but I’d love any and all suggestions! And if you have any ideas or characters you want to be part of this feel free to @ me! Fallout is always happy to have more people help him out in the shop, with deliveries and pick up, and sewing.

The Traveling Circus

There is a trend of groups living in RVs and minivans, some even sell from their vehicles, foods, crafts, clothing, and medicine to name a few.

One of the biggest known is known as the Travelling Circus.

The Traveling Circus are a group of killjoys who live in a number of caravans, the string of vehicles are known as the Big Top and are decorated as such.

The Traveling Circus is well known for picking up zone loners and oddballs and giving them a place to live and a way to earn money. Every month they put on a grand show for zone dwellers, clowns make jokes, contortionists bend into unimaginable forms, gymnasts fly around the stage, along with many more thrilling and loveable acts.

The Traveling Circus is ran mainly by two people, The Fool and The Ringmaster. Both fled to the zones at around the same time and supported one another through thick and thin and have become like siblings, and have, since starting the Traveling Circus, created a community, a family, for those who needed one.

Headcanons for the Fabulous Killjoys

Party Poison:

Always has a mischievous smile on his face. Its difficult to phase him

Flamboyant and can be over-dramatic. Appears to be a show-off, but that’s just his personality

May act goofy, but he’s wise beyond his years

Good at analyzing situations. Has a clear head, even in the midst of heavy blasterfire

Cares way too much and would never leave a Killjoy behind. Hopeful in the darkest of times

Confides in Kobra only. Doesn’t want to be seen as weak by the others

Kobra Kid:

Scarcely shows emotions. Doesn’t talk too much, especially around strangers

When he does open his mouth, he’s the master of deadpan humor

Passive aggressive. Fun Ghoul manages to push his buttons sometimes, which results in Fun’s belongings (lighter collection, tool box, hair gel, etc.) being tossed into the desert

Keeps it real. Trusts Party implicitly

Best shot. Doesn’t believe in the Phoenix Witch

“I know kung-fu”

Fun Ghoul:

Quick temper, but quicker to laugh. Cracks bad jokes like there’s no tomorrow

Always tinkering with something or collecting random crap from the zones. Bombs and explosives are his specialty

A little petulant. Life’s greatest joy is to mess with Kobra

Pyromaniac. Interested in chemicals of all kinds, flammable or not

Reckless and foolhardy. Doesn’t always think about consequences

Secretly admires the crap out of Party. You’d have to hold a blaster to his skull to get him to admit it, however

Jet Star:

Gruff mom friend

In charge of supplies and a good cook. Makes sure all the killjoys are fed and take a bath once in a while

Wholesome. If he does swear, then you know the crap has really hit the fan

Very physically affectionate. Can be a little overbearing sometimes

Often mediates between Kobra and Fun

Stubborn as a mule. Once he’s made his mind up, even Party has a tough time changing it
