Doey & bigger body Reader

★ You only survived because of Doey. He helped you when CatNap first began picking off the smiling critters. You lived in the orphanage with them before everything happened. It was survival of the fittest -and you? There's no way in hell you could’ve challenged CatNap.

★ Truth be told, you do miss him. Theo was a good friend of yours. Back when he still remembered that name. But so was DogDay, and... well...

★ No one ever found the courage to tell you what became of them. But you didn't need to be told. You figured it out on your own. The silence that fills the room says enough.

★ Chronic pain is a reality you've been forced to accept. Cringing the sharp, unpredictable sensations that tear through your body. Sometimes you hear an odd *cl-click* from somewhere inside yourself. Like something was put in wrong.

★ Some days are better than others. In the morning you might wake up feeling ready to finish every chore in Safe Haven. Other days, just picking yourself up off the floor is a losing battle.

★ Fortunately for you, there are friends who can help! Doey knows all the shortcuts. And he's memorized which dilapidated paths will support your larger figure. Perfect for when you need some space. Or feel like the walls are closing in on you.

★ Nowadays Safe Haven can be pretty crowded. For some reason, the smaller ones look up to you. Like you're something to be admired. They call you things like "tough" and "brave," though you aren't so sure about that.

★ Kissy always puts a hand on your shoulder when she sees you struggling. Two gentle taps, her way of asking a question. You tap back once. Your version of "I'm okay." It's a strange little language that only the people who know her speak.

★ You love him, you really do. But Doey has a habit of treating you like a baby. At first it was understandable. He's always made sure everyone around him was taken care of. That's just his nature.

★ Not to mention how beat-up you were the day you came to Safe Haven. He watched you almost die before. He's never letting that happen again.

★ If you're working on something important, Doey hovers over you. Double-checking everything you do. Like he's expecting you to make a mistake. It's subtle, and you get the feeling Doey doesn't realize he's doing it, but you wish he trusted you a little more.
